Chapter 2123 Handled?

The attendant shook his head.

Mu Anxiao looked at the attendant’s affirmative gesture, then glanced back at Feng Qishi who remained silent beside her. After a moment of hesitation, she said, "Alright then, let's go."

Upon hearing Mu Anxiao’s words, the attendant’s lips curved upward slightly, and he turned to lead the way.

Immediately after, as Mu Anxiao moved forward, Feng Qishi reached out and tugged on her arm, asking, "You want me to go too?"

"Don't you want to go?" Mu Anxiao countered, glancing at the flirtatiously dressed women who were trying to wave at Feng Qishi. She let out a cold snort, "As expected of a man." With that, she glared at Feng Qishi and walked towards the attendant.

*As expected of a man?*

Feng Qishi was genuinely baffled by Mu Anxiao's statement. He swallowed, his gaze shifting to the women who were grinning at him. Startled, he quickly turned and hurried after Mu Anxiao.

Momentarily.

Feng Qishi rushed to Mu Anxiao's side, then looked at the attendant standing opposite her, silent and unmoving. He was stunned.

The attendant didn’t notice Feng Qishi’s presence. Instead, he looked at Mu Anxiao with a troubled expression. After a few seconds of hesitation, he said, "That beggar, he's gone out."

*Beggar?* Mu Anxiao repeated the words in her mind several times before frowning. "You called me over just to tell me this."

"Not exactly, it's just..." The attendant began to hesitate again.

Seeing this, Mu Anxiao naturally displayed an impatient expression. "Since you called me over, can you just speak properly? What's with all the hesitation? I'm not idle, I have other things to do." She thought of the carriage driver and grew anxious.

"I know, but..." The attendant trailed off.

Mu Anxiao tutted. "Hurry up and say it, or I'm leaving." She made a move to turn away.

Seeing this, the attendant quickly reached out and grabbed Mu Anxiao's arm. "Wait, I'll say it."

Hearing this, Mu Anxiao turned her head and, without a word, glanced at the hand the attendant had placed on her arm. "..."

"I'll say it," the attendant repeated, intimidated by Mu Anxiao's gaze, and consciously released his grip.

Feng Qishi crossed his arms in front of him.

Mu Anxiao lifted her chin. "Go ahead."

"I'm just an attendant, I have people managing me. To be honest, that beggar was quite a nuisance. My supervisor said," the attendant said, looking at Mu Anxiao cautiously, his lips twitching upwards twice, "she wants me to drive him away completely, so he doesn't loiter around the inn. If I see him, I'll have to leave."

"Why are you telling me this?" Mu Anxiao was utterly confused.

The attendant smiled at Mu Anxiao. "I'm telling you this because I want you to help me."

"Help you?" Mu Anxiao didn't immediately understand. She pointed at the attendant and sneered, "Are you kidding me?"

"I'm not kidding, I'm very serious."

"Very serious," Mu Anxiao mused. "But that's not right. Don't you people like money? As long as there's money, any customer is welcome. From what I know, that guy paid a lot of money to get in. Aren't you destroying your boss's business by doing this?"

"Yes, but..." the attendant said, looking troubled. "My supervisor is a woman with germophobia. That beggar disgusted her, so..."

"So she made a unilateral decision," Mu Anxiao interrupted.

The attendant nodded. "That's the gist of it." He said, staring at Mu Anxiao's face for a few seconds before continuing, "Moreover, I heard something."

"What is it?" Mu Anxiao was suddenly intrigued by the attendant's mysterious demeanor.

"Well, I heard that beggar is a thief." The attendant said earnestly.

"Where did you hear that?" Mu Anxiao remembered she hadn't mentioned the man's identity. Hearing this from the attendant, she suddenly felt a pang of nervousness.

The attendant said, "Based on the timing."

"Elaborate," Mu Anxiao’s interest was suddenly piqued by the attendant's words.

"Okay," the attendant complied, clearing his throat. "When that beggar came in, he just happened to pass by my supervisor. Afterward, her money pouch went missing. Most importantly, I thought the beggar's money pouch looked familiar, but I couldn't remember where I'd seen it before, but..." His expression stiffened, and he suddenly stopped speaking.

"Why did you stop?" Mu Anxiao asked, confused.

The attendant thought for a moment before continuing. "But just now, that woman discovered her money pouch was missing. Coincidentally, before that, when I passed by a room, I heard a man inside say that the beggar seemed to be a thief. However, I didn't hear the specifics clearly."

"Are you sure that money pouch belongs to that woman, if you didn't hear clearly?" Mu Anxiao asked.

Then, seizing on Mu Anxiao's words, the attendant thought it over again and suddenly realized, "Right, that money pouch belongs to that woman."

"You're sure?" Mu Anxiao prompted deliberately.

The attendant nodded. "I'm sure. That woman is quite picky, and a complete vain show-off. As soon as she gets paid each month, she goes shopping. She especially likes fabric from Silver City. Most importantly, she likes the patterns on the fabric. So last month, she made a money pouch with that kind of fabric. If I remember correctly, she even showed it off to me. I just didn't pay attention at the time. Now that I think about it, it definitely belongs to her."

"You want to help her find the money pouch," Mu Anxiao stated calmly.

"That's not it."

"It's not? Then why tell me all this?" Mu Anxiao couldn't understand the attendant.

The attendant was embarrassed by Mu Anxiao's question. "I was just telling you. As for her money pouch..." His eyes flickered slightly. "It has nothing to do with me."

"Nothing to do with you," Mu Anxiao's lips curved into a smile. "Let me ask you a question."

"Go ahead," the attendant fixed his gaze on Mu Anxiao's face.

"You didn't happen to call me over just to show off your intelligence, did you?" Mu Anxiao asked with feigned seriousness.

"I'm not that bored," the attendant said excitedly. "I called you over because I want you to help me deal with that beggar."

"Deal with him?"

"Yes, help me deal with him. I'll pay you." The attendant started to reach for his money pouch.

Mu Anxiao's expression froze. She stated plainly, "You don't need to bother. I can't help you with this."

Upon hearing this, the attendant froze, stopped his movement, and looked up at Mu Anxiao. "Why not? It's not that difficult to help me deal with him, is it?"

"What do you think?" Mu Anxiao replied.

"I don't think it's difficult," the attendant shook his head slightly.
