"Mm," the wolf demon returned to its senses and nodded.
Mu Anxiao glanced at the big-headed fat demon and the small demon, who were instantly disappointed again. She took a deep breath and looked at Hu Yuan’s mother, whose complexion was not good, and said, "That, I'll take care of him here. Why don't you go back and rest!"
"Alright," Hu Yuan's mother readily agreed.
Mu Anxiao was surprised by this.
The wolf demon looked up at Hu Yuan's mother and said, "Rest well."
"Mm," Hu Yuan's mother nodded, circled the bed, and left.
Mu Anxiao looked down at the wolf demon's profile and asked, "Don't you think she's a bit strange?"
"What's wrong?" The wolf demon hadn't noticed anything unusual.
"It's just, she seems like she's been crying," Mu Anxiao said.
The wolf demon yawned, "You said you were sleeping, you can leave now."
"Eh?" Mu Anxiao felt the wolf demon's change was too abrupt and couldn't quite adapt.
"I said," the wolf demon smiled and waved, "you can leave, I want to rest for a bit, understand."
"You..." Mu Anxiao uttered the word and sat by the bedside, smiling, "Grandson, you sleep, Grandma will watch you."
"Old hag, are you sick?" the wolf demon frowned.
Mu Anxiao tilted her head and deliberately looked around, saying, "Less nonsense, if you want to rest, hurry up and rest."
The wolf demon rolled its eyes and closed them.
Inside, Hu Yuan sat in place, thinking about the reactions of the big-headed fat demon and the small demon just now, his eyes darkening.
The big-headed fat demon and the small demon looked at the wolf demon's profile and sighed simultaneously.
Then, the big-headed fat demon nudged the small demon's arm and tilted his face towards the hospital room door.
The small demon looked up at the big-headed fat demon, wondering what he was up to, and nodded without daring to speak. He followed him towards the hospital room exit.
Mu Anxiao looked back at the big-headed fat demon and the small demon, who were unsure what they were doing, and frowned, saying, "You sleep, I'm going out for some air."
"Get lost!" the wolf demon waved its hand.
Mu Anxiao glared fiercely at the wolf demon, got up, and walked out of the room. She immediately saw the big-headed fat demon and the small demon standing furtively in the corner, saying something. She cleared her throat, walked up, and asked in a low voice, "What are you doing?"
Upon hearing this, the two of them stiffened and then slowly turned to look at Mu Anxiao. They bared their teeth simultaneously, glanced cautiously at each other, and the big-headed fat demon said with a guilty look, "We were just coming out for some air."
"Were you trying to talk to him just now?" Mu Anxiao asked directly.
The big-headed fat demon and the small demon nodded together.
"Alright, don't you two think too much about it. I think he just doesn't want you to see him like this. Come on, let's go back in," Mu Anxiao said, pointing towards the hospital room.
The big-headed fat demon shook his head and said, "No, we have more important things to do."
"What important things could you possibly have?" Mu Anxiao looked at each of them.
The small demon said in a low voice, "We think our master's mother is acting strange. Just as you said, she’s been crying. We saw her take a call just now and then leave crying."
"What are you going to do?"
"We want to go and see. It's like protecting his mother for our master," the big-headed fat demon said.
"Are you stupid..." Mu Anxiao looked unnaturally at some passing patients who were looking at her, and she clamped her mouth shut.
Seeing Mu Anxiao's nervous appearance, the big-headed fat demon and the small demon didn't dare to say anything.
After they had walked away, Mu Anxiao continued to whisper, "Are you guys stupid? If you go like this, she won't be able to see you. I say, you two go and watch the wolf demon in the room, and I'll go."
"You're going?" the big-headed fat demon exclaimed in surprise.
"The credit will be yours," Mu Anxiao said, and turned to walk away.
The small demon looked at the big-headed fat demon with a confused expression and said, "We have to share a room with that guy again."
"Otherwise? Who told us we are demons and normal humans can't see us," the big-headed fat demon said, sighing deeply and turning to walk ahead.
The small demon glanced at Mu Anxiao's retreating back and said, "Brother, I'll follow her. If anything happens, I can notify you immediately." After speaking, he turned and chased after Mu Anxiao.
Hearing this, the big-headed fat demon hastily turned halfway to look at the small demon's retreating figure, his eyes darkening, and said, "Alright, I'll go keep watch." He sighed again.
Mu Anxiao arrived at a blind spot of the surveillance cameras and was about to cast a spell when the small demon grabbed her arm, "You're already very weak. Follow me." Saying this, he tapped his nose with his finger.
"You're going to use your sense of smell?" Mu Anxiao was surprised.
"Otherwise? For our master, I don't mind turning into a dog," the small demon said. He sniffed the air around them, and a strong medicinal smell suddenly entered his nostrils. His body trembled, and his eyes widened.
"What's wrong?" Mu Anxiao asked.
The small demon wrinkled his nose and said, "It's nothing, it's over there."
"Such a strong, unpleasant smell of medicine, and you can still smell where Hu Yuan's mother is. Amazing," Mu Anxiao gave him a thumbs-up.
"It's alright," the small demon rubbed his nose and started to lead the way.
Mu Anxiao followed closely.
A few minutes later, just as Mu Anxiao stepped out of the elevator, she unluckily ran into Feng Mu.
"Mu Anxiao," Feng Mu said in a low voice.
"Hello," Mu Anxiao greeted her hurriedly, then peered at the small demon who had stopped, frowning.
Feng Mu saw Mu Anxiao's strange behavior, so she glanced sideways behind her where no one was, and turned back to ask, "What are you looking at?"
"I have something to do, I'll just..."
Mu Anxiao was halfway through her sentence when Feng Mu suddenly reached out and grabbed her arm, saying, "Don't go, I have something to tell you."
The small demon looked at Feng Mu's imposing back, and then at Mu Anxiao's troubled expression. He called out, "I'll go, don't worry, I'll notify you immediately if anything happens." He pointed to his nose.
Mu Anxiao nodded helplessly.
Feng Mu, however, couldn't stand Mu Anxiao ignoring her, and said, "Mu Anxiao, you and your grandfather are equally impolite."
"My grandfather?" Mu Anxiao turned back and looked at Feng Mu doubtfully. Then she remembered Zhang Yan and realized, "Oh, how is my grandfather impolite?"
"Let's not talk about your grandfather's politeness for now. Why did you go and make false accusations for no reason?" Feng Mu pointed to Mu Anxiao's mouth.
Mu Anxiao was surprised by Feng Mu's rapid change of mood, faster than flipping a book, and asked, "No, what do you mean by that?"
"What do you mean? Your grandfather has come to collect a debt, and you're still asking me?" Feng Mu said rudely.
Mu Anxiao didn't quite understand Feng Mu's meaning and hesitated for a moment, saying, "You mean, my grandfather came here to collect a debt from you?"
"Yes, child. If I recall correctly, my family paid for your medical expenses, right? And I," Feng Mu dusted off Mu Anxiao's shoulder, "haven't treated you badly, have I? It's not very good for you to find your grandfather to extort our family like this."
