"Didn't you say you wanted me to wait outside?" Mu Anxiao asked, her voice trembling.
"I've been in there too many times alone. I've never gone in with anyone else before. Please," Qu Tian clasped his hands together, his expression sincere.
Seeing Qu Tian's earnest expression, Mu Anxiao hesitated before saying, "Alright, I'll go with you."
"You agree?" Qu Tian smiled.
Mu Anxiao nodded reluctantly.
Qu Tian smiled and said, "Let's go." As he spoke, he turned around.
Mu Anxiao took a deep breath and looked at Feng Qishi, "You come with me."
Feng Qishi glanced at the back of Qu Tian's head and nodded.
A few minutes later...
Mu Anxiao's ears were filled with everyone's screams, including Qu Tian's...
"Ahhh, Mom, this is too scary!" Qu Tian yelled, gripping Mu Anxiao's arm tightly.
Mu Anxiao looked helplessly at the scene, so different from a horror movie, and at the terrified expression on Qu Tian's face, saying, "It's not that scary, is it?"
"I told you I'm scarier," Feng Qishi said, floating beside Mu Anxiao.
Mu Anxiao glanced at Feng Qishi, then at the fake ghosts in front of them making scary gestures. She sighed, then said in a rather dry voice, "So scary."
"You're so fake," Feng Qishi's lips twitched.
Mu Anxiao looked at the dark scenery surrounding them and said, "I've had enough. Let's go out."
Qu Tian held tightly onto Mu Anxiao's arm, saying, "Take me with you."
"Didn't this guy say he was going to protect you?" Feng Qishi said, looking at Qu Tian with disdain.
"He was bragging," Mu Anxiao said, leading Qu Tian past the fake ghosts towards the exit.
In an instant, they stepped into the light. Qu Tian opened his eyes and asked, "Are we out?"
Mu Anxiao pushed away Qu Tian's hand, which was still tightly grasping her arm, and said, "We're out. You can let go now."
Qu Tian gave a dry chuckle, released his grip, and took a step back, saying, "I used to come here often when I was a child."
"Is that so?" Mu Anxiao said without sarcasm.
Qu Tian awkwardly wiped the sweat from his forehead and said, "Let me treat you to ice cream."
"Okay," Mu Anxiao agreed immediately.
"I want some too," Feng Qishi said, looking at Mu Anxiao.
Mu Anxiao glanced at Feng Qishi and said, "When we get back, I'll freeze some ice for you."
"Ugh... it has no flavor," Feng Qishi pouted.
Mu Anxiao rolled her eyes at Feng Qishi and turned to look at Qu Tian standing by the ice cream cart, saying, "Your death can be considered saving a wayward youth."
"He's not a wayward youth," Feng Qishi said, looking at Qu Tian's back.
"Then what is he?" Mu Anxiao asked.
Feng Qishi thought for a moment and said, "Just someone who doesn't study properly."
"I can't believe you're being so modest," Mu Anxiao said.
Feng Qishi smiled, "I'm not being modest. This guy is naturally smart..."
"If you hadn't encouraged him, he wouldn't have thought about studying properly," Mu Anxiao interrupted.
Feng Qishi paused for a moment, then nodded, "Alright, you have a point."
"Then it's your credit," Mu Anxiao pointed at Feng Qishi and walked towards Qu Tian.
Feng Qishi watched Mu Anxiao's retreating figure, lowered his eyes with a smile, and followed.
And so, Mu Anxiao accompanied Qu Tian through all the rides. As they left the amusement park, Qu Tian's face was full of smiles, saying, "Let's play again sometime."
"I'm leaving here, so just consider this a memory with a stranger," Mu Anxiao said calmly.
Qu Tian's eyes sank, "Then, can we meet again in the future?"
"If we meet..." Mu Anxiao hesitated and said, "If you study hard, maybe we'll meet again in the future."
"You said it," Qu Tian said, sticking out his pinky finger.
Mu Anxiao frowned, "What are you doing?"
"Pinky promise," Qu Tian raised his eyebrows.
"Isn't this too childish?" Mu Anxiao knitted her brows.
"My cousin used to love making pinky promises with me. Even though he never kept his promises, it was a spiritual support for me," Qu Tian said earnestly.
Mu Anxiao looked at the expression on Qu Tian's face, then at his cousin Feng Qishi standing beside him. She hesitated, then said, "Alright, pinky promise." As she spoke, she hooked her pinky with Qu Tian's.
Qu Tian smiled.
Feng Qishi looked at Qu Tian's innocent smile and smiled down.
"Qu Tian, why are you two together?"
Hearing this, Mu Anxiao and Qu Tian turned to look at Feng Feng, who was walking towards them.
Qu Tian, worried that Feng Feng might be malicious towards Mu Anxiao, stepped forward and asked, "What are you doing here?"
"I came to play with classmates. Are you guys together?" Feng Feng pointed at Mu Anxiao and asked.
Mu Anxiao frowned.
Qu Tian glanced at Mu Anxiao and said, "Let me tell you, from now on, she's my big sister. Don't bully her."
"Can you not add the word 'big'?" Mu Anxiao reminded him.
Qu Tian turned to Mu Anxiao and smiled, then looked at Feng Feng again, "We're leaving. You go play."
"Do you have to be so wary of me?" Feng Feng said helplessly.
Qu Tian blinked and said, "People in your family change their minds too quickly. Maybe you're just here to cause trouble for her."
"Brother, you're overthinking," Feng Feng said helplessly, glancing around, "My second brother messaged me saying you were leaving soon. I was planning to call you later, but I didn't expect to run into you here."
"Your second brother has a big mouth," Mu Anxiao said coldly.
"Don't misunderstand. He just told me to call you, he didn't say you were here," Feng Feng explained.
"Who did you come with?" Mu Anxiao asked, intentionally skipping the topic.
Feng Feng looked around and said, "I came with a classmate. He went to buy something."
"Boy or girl?" Qu Tian asked excitedly.
Feng Feng looked helplessly at Qu Tian, who asked the question, and said, "What does it matter to you whether it's a boy or a girl?"
"I'm your cousin," Qu Tian said righteously.
Feng Feng looked at Qu Tian imitating Feng Qishi's usual way of speaking, and his eyes darkened, "You're not my biological brother, so you have no right to ask me so much."
Qu Tian's expression froze.
Mu Anxiao glanced at Qu Tian, then at Feng Feng and said, "We're leaving now." As she spoke, she nudged Qu Tian's arm.
Qu Tian nodded silently, then turned his back without even looking at Feng Feng.
Feng Feng looked at Qu Tian's dejected back, then at Mu Anxiao beside him, and said, "It's a girl."
"Oh," Qu Tian responded weakly.
Feng Feng said, "The way you were just now reminded me of my brother. I'm sorry."
Hearing this, Qu Tian turned to Feng Feng and said, "Although I'm not your biological brother, if you ever need anything in the future, come find me. I'll help you too."
"Thank you," Feng Feng smiled faintly.
Qu Tian felt much better and said, "Go play. Your brother will be happy if you have friends." Search "An Xiao Feng Qi Shi Jie Zhong Wen Xue" on Baidu for the latest chapters, free to read first.
