Mu Anxiao applauded upon seeing this, exclaiming, "Remarkable sorcery, I'm impressed!"
Upon hearing this, the dog-headed demon turned its head, a dark line appearing on its face, and looked at Mu Anxiao. "The gate is completely broken. You don't need to do that."
Mu Anxiao lowered her clapping hands and said a monotonous "Oh."
"Our boss hates it when people flatter him," one of the small demons whispered.
Mu Anxiao glanced at the little demon. "No wonder none of you spoke. So that's how it is."
The little demon pursed its lips.
Mu Anxiao chuckled lightly, stepped towards the gate, then suddenly stopped. She leaned her head in and asked the dog-headed demon sitting inside, "May I come in?"
The dog-headed demon, sitting on the ground covered in dry grass, said, "Bring her in."
"I..." Before Mu Anxiao could utter a word, the small demons behind her restrained her arms. She was forced down and brought before the dog-headed demon.
"Kneel," the dog-headed demon commanded sternly.
Mu Anxiao took a breath, then voluntarily knelt on the ground, saying, "You should get yourself a proper chair."
"It's all your fault. After you captured my elder brother, our status in the demon realm plummeted. Our mountain..." The dog-headed demon's mouth turned down, and it choked out, "Our mountain was taken over by our cousin."
"Your cousin?" Mu Anxiao didn't quite understand.
"My elder brother and I are biological siblings. The one who took the mountain isn't a blood relative, but a cousin," the dog-headed demon explained in detail.
Mu Anxiao said, "That's not right. Cousins are still relatives."
"Not necessarily. Only those with the same parents are truly related. The others are not," the dog-headed demon said with unexpected agitation.
Mu Anxiao nodded. "Alright, whatever you say is right."
"Kneel properly," the dog-headed demon pointed at Mu Anxiao's legs.
Mu Anxiao lowered her head, then knelt properly again, asking, "Do you have a wife?"
"Why are you asking that?" the dog-headed demon asked, confused.
"Just tell me if you do," Mu Anxiao said suddenly, her face turning cold.
Seeing Mu Anxiao's stern expression, the dog-headed demon was startled. "No."
"Single dog," Mu Anxiao said casually.
"None of your business," the dog-headed demon glared at Mu Anxiao.
Mu Anxiao looked at the dog-headed demon's expression, then at the small demons behind it, and asked, "Hey, have you gone mad?"
"I'm a demon, not mad," the dog-headed demon emphasized.
Mu Anxiao pursed her lips. "Then why do you have a dog's head and a human body?"
"It's all because of you! I was about to become a handsome young man, but because of you, I've become this ghastly creature," the dog-headed demon glared at Mu Anxiao as if driven mad. "If you don't tell me where my elder brother's body is, I will kill you."
"If you kill me, your elder brother's body will be lost too," Mu Anxiao said, quickly standing up and stepping back half a pace.
The dog-headed demon looked at Mu Anxiao's reaction and stood up. "What do you mean by that?"
"Your elder brother was heinous. Otherwise, he wouldn't have gone to hell," Mu Anxiao said, widening her eyes.
The dog-headed demon bared its fangs and said, "I'll bite you to death." With that, it lunged at Mu Anxiao.
"They say dogs are loyal, but this one is very disobedient."
Upon hearing this, the dog-headed demon stopped in its tracks and asked, "Who?" It looked around.
Mu Anxiao's arms were grabbed by the small demons.
"Let me go," she said, looking at the small demons with her head turned.
"Even if I introduce myself, you won't know who I am," a man in blue said, jumping down from the roof beam and blocking Mu Anxiao.
Mu Anxiao narrowed her eyes, looking at the back of the man in blue before her.
"Are you human or demon?" the dog-headed demon asked the man in blue, who was wearing a face mask.
"What a question," the man in blue chuckled and said in a flippant tone, "It's hard for me to answer that."
"I hate people who don't speak properly the most," the dog-headed demon said, lunging at the man in blue.
"And I hate dogs who speak human words with a dog's head..." The man in blue narrowed his eyes. "Dogs." As he spoke, he instantly conjured a long sword. He raised the sword and gently swung it towards the dog-headed demon. A blue light flashed, and the fur on the dog-headed demon's forehead fell to the ground.
The dog-headed demon, who cherished his fur the most, stopped abruptly. He looked down at the fallen fur and said, "My elder brother groomed this for me before he left. You'll pay for this." He then looked up at the man in blue.
The man in blue retracted his sword and said, "This is my resting place, not a gathering spot for you dog demons. If you continue to be insolent, I'll shave off all the hair on your head."
"You..."
Before the dog-headed demon could finish speaking, the man in blue held out his hand and conjured a small jade bottle. "Allow me to introduce myself. I am a demon hunter. Today, I'm resting and don't want to move. If you say one more word," a smile touched his lips, "none of you present will be able to leave." He waved his hand towards the gate, and streaks of blue light gathered into a ball, then dispersed, repairing all the doors and windows in the dilapidated temple.
Mu Anxiao swallowed, watching the man in blue's skillful movements, and remained silent.
Seeing this, the small demons one by one released Mu Anxiao and fled.
The dog-headed demon looked at Mu Anxiao and said, "She's my prey. I..."
"You leave, she stays," the man in blue said coldly, his palm beginning to emit a blue glow.
Mu Anxiao looked down at the man in blue's palm and blinked.
The dog-headed demon, unwilling to give up, looked at Mu Anxiao and said, "You wait for me."
"Mm," Mu Anxiao casually replied.
The dog-headed demon cautiously glanced at the man in blue, then transformed into a beam of light and disappeared.
Immediately, Mu Anxiao breathed a sigh of relief.
The man in blue turned to Mu Anxiao and asked, "You're Mu Anxiao, aren't you?"
"You know me?" Mu Anxiao was surprised.
The man in blue looked at Mu Anxiao, casually removed the mask covering his face, and said, "I'm Shen Yan's elder brother. My name is Shen... Shen Yan."
Mu Anxiao looked at the man in blue, who looked exactly like Feng Qishi and Shen Yan, in astonishment. She instinctively took a step back and said, "Is that so? Then thank you. We won't meet again." She cupped her fist.
"I am your savior," the man in blue said, walking up to Mu Anxiao.
Mu Anxiao took half a step back, looking at the man before her. Her eyes narrowed, and she said, "Fifty years ago, you tricked me, and I would still believe you. Now, do you think I'll believe you? Feng Qishi."
"You don't believe me," the man in blue said, looking at Mu Anxiao.
Mu Anxiao looked up at the man in blue and said, "Feng Qishi, you look so..."
