Chapter 547 Eyes of Different Colors

Mu Anxiao's eyes darkened as she said, "No, she saved me. She wouldn't."

"She became a spirit by absorbing the souls of mortals," the man in green said.

"Is he telling the truth?" Mu Anxiao asked, looking down at the rabbit spirit in her arms with lingering fear.

The rabbit spirit tilted its head up and shook its head at Mu Anxiao.

"Mortal, if you don't listen to me and suffer a loss, don't come crying to me for help," the man in green said, pointing at Mu Anxiao.

Mu Anxiao thought that if the rabbit spirit truly wanted to absorb her soul, it would have done so back at the cave. Also, if it became a spirit by absorbing mortal souls, why couldn't it transform into human form? Pondering these questions, Mu Anxiao looked up at the man in green, "You've come to the wrong place."

"I know her," the man in green said, pointing at the rabbit spirit in Mu Anxiao's arms. "She knows me too. Ask her if you don't believe me."

"Do you know him?" Mu Anxiao asked, looking down at the rabbit spirit.

The rabbit spirit hesitated for a moment before saying, "Yes, he inexplicably came to capture me many years ago. It was because of him that I found that place of cultivation."

"How exactly did you become a spirit?" Mu Anxiao asked in detail.

The rabbit spirit said, "After I left the immortal cultivation sect, I strayed into the realm of demons. Then, I inadvertently discovered a type of strange-looking grass. Because I was so hungry, I ate it without thinking. To my surprise, it tasted quite good. From then on, I ate that demonic grass daily until one day, I met a demon who told me that the grass I had been eating was a spirit-enhancing demonic grass. Gradually, I gained demonic powers and became a demon... no, I became a spirit."

"Don't listen to her," the man in green said urgently, pointing at Mu Anxiao.

After considering the rabbit spirit's words, Mu Anxiao looked up at the man in green pointing at her and said, "Alright, I'll hand her over to you."

"What are you doing?" the rabbit spirit asked agitatedly.

Mu Anxiao gave the rabbit spirit no hint of her intentions. Instead, she stepped forward and presented the rabbit spirit to the man in green, saying, "Here you go, catch her."

The man in green glanced at Mu Anxiao, then looked down at the rabbit spirit, who was staring at him with a look of terror. He frowned abruptly, "Your eyes are red."

"What do you mean by that?" Mu Anxiao asked, observing the man in green's surprised expression.

The man in green thought for a moment, withdrew the hand he was about to raise, and said, "The rabbit spirit's eyes are not that color."

"Then what color are they?" Mu Anxiao asked deliberately.

"Black," the man in green replied.

Mu Anxiao nodded, took back the rabbit spirit, and asked, "Have you seen the original form of that rabbit spirit?"

"No, it disappeared once it reached here," the man in green answered.

Mu Anxiao looked at the man in green's slightly embarrassed expression and curved her lips, "So you've been catching blindly all this time."

"Rabbit spirits rarely appear in this forest. If it were you," the man in green's eyes darted away, "you would have mistaken one too."

"At the very least, I would have been clear about her fur color," Mu Anxiao said.

"She's already turned into a human. How can you tell her fur color?"

"Her eyes are black, so her fur color must also be black," Mu Anxiao stated directly.

The man in green found Mu Anxiao's words reasonable and was momentarily speechless, saying, "Who pays attention to that sort of thing? Besides, this fellow runs the moment it sees me." He pointed at the rabbit spirit in Mu Anxiao's arms. "I didn't have time to observe. If you hadn't shown me, I would have still thought she was that soul-absorbing rabbit spirit."

"But if she's already become human, is she still a spirit?" Mu Anxiao asked, hugging the trembling rabbit spirit closer.

"I fought with her. With her demonic powers, I could tell she hadn't become a demon yet, only a spirit."

"Then why did you call her a 'little demoness'?" Mu Anxiao deliberately picked at his words.

Seeing Mu Anxiao's expression of looking for trouble, the man in green sighed and said, "I'm not talking to you anymore." As he said this, he was about to step around Mu Anxiao when the rabbit spirit suddenly spoke, "Where did you see that rabbit spirit?"

Hearing this, the man in green stopped and looked down at the rabbit spirit, smiling, "Weren't you unwilling to speak with me?"

"I was afraid of you, but," the rabbit spirit gathered its courage and met the man in green's eyes, "now that you've explained everything clearly, I'm not as afraid of you."

"Alright," the man in green nodded.

"Where did you see that rabbit spirit?" the rabbit spirit asked again.

The man in green stared at the rabbit spirit for a few seconds, then grinned falsely, "Why should I tell you?"

"Someone is asking you. Can you answer honestly?" Mu Anxiao said impatiently.

Immediately, the man in green shifted his gaze to Mu Anxiao's face and said, "Fine, I'll tell you..." He glanced at the rabbit spirit's rabbit face, then looked back at Mu Anxiao, "You two, but you have to promise me something."

"What is it?" Mu Anxiao frowned.

"Help me find Miss Xian Yuan," the man in green said, leaning in to meet Mu Anxiao's eyes.

Mu Anxiao looked into the man in green's eyes without any reaction and asked, "What do you need Miss Xian Yuan for?"

"I am from above, but my immortal position is special. I must find a maiden with immortal destiny in the mortal realm for my work to continue," the man in green explained carefully.

Mu Anxiao's eyes darkened, recalling that Shen Yan had approached her for a similar reason. With the past haunting her, she took a step back and said, "I don't understand what you're talking about."

"Your family must have sisters who cultivate immortals. Otherwise, how would a mortal like you know so much?" the man in green stepped forward.

Mu Anxiao lowered her head and said impatiently, "I don't have any sisters who cultivate immortals. Find them yourself and stop bothering me."

The man in green let out a disdainful snort and looked down at the rabbit spirit with a smile, "Then, will you help me?"

The rabbit spirit was taken aback and said, "I'm just a rabbit that can't turn into a human. How can I help you?"

"Is your sense of smell very keen?" the man in green asked, leaning down to look at the rabbit spirit in Mu Anxiao's arms.

Mu Anxiao looked at the man in green's head bowed in front of her and asked, "What use do you have for her?"

Hearing this, the man in green looked up at Mu Anxiao and said, "You ignorant mortal, what business is it of yours!"

"I don't understand, but the way you are..." Mu Anxiao stepped back, "I just find it displeasing to the eye."

"Your displeasure is your business. I'm talking to her, not you," the man in green straightened up.

"You..."

As Mu Anxiao uttered a single word, the man in green once again shifted his gaze to the rabbit spirit's rabbit face and asked again, "Is your sense of smell very keen?" He pointed at the rabbit spirit's nose.
