"I support you." Before Mu Anxiao had said these things, Zhang Yan felt she wasn't worth it. Now, after hearing her, he felt her ideas were correct.
Mu Anxiao nodded with a smile.
Then, Liu Xian's voice came from behind her: "Mu Anxiao, what's wrong with you?"
Hearing this, Mu Anxiao frowned.
Zhang Yan then remembered he was still invisible. He looked down at Mu Anxiao and said, "Sorry, you'll have to rack your brain to explain this."
Mu Anxiao shook her head slightly, turned, and said to Liu Xian, who was running towards her, "I'm fine."
"You're fine," Liu Xian said, stopping in front of Mu Anxiao. "Then why have you been talking to yourself here?"
"Did you hear what I said?" Mu Anxiao asked tentatively.
"No, I didn't," Liu Xian replied.
Mu Anxiao breathed a sigh of relief. She leaned forward and looked at Liu Xian's tear-reddened eyes, saying, "You have deep feelings for Feng Qishi."
Upon hearing Mu Anxiao's words, Liu Xian began to pout and cry again.
Mu Anxiao, unsure how to comfort the inconsolable Liu Xian before her, said, "The dead cannot be brought back to life. Don't be too sad. You have a night shift today. If you cry until you're sick, how will you go to work?" As she spoke, she reached out and gently patted Liu Xian's shoulder.
Zhang Yan looked at Mu Anxiao's back, thinking of the old gentleman's words, and slowly raised his hand. However, just as he was about to cast a spell, the Yin Messenger in a suit arrived again: "If you reveal yourself directly to humans like this, won't you scare him?" He glanced at the weeping Liu Xian.
Zhang Yan retracted his hand and looked at the Yin Messenger in the suit. "Why are you back?"
"I had nothing to do, so I wanted to come back and take a look," the Yin Messenger in the suit said nonchalantly.
Zhang Yan glanced at Mu Anxiao. "You're worried about that monster suddenly appearing, aren't you?"
"You could say that," the Yin Messenger in the suit admitted. He walked to Mu Anxiao's side and said, "Why don't you give him a hug? That would be a more effective way to comfort him."
Mu Anxiao squinted at the Yin Messenger in the suit's face.
The Yin Messenger in the suit was startled by Mu Anxiao's gaze and took a step back. "Just pretend I didn't say anything."
Mu Anxiao remained silent and shifted her gaze back to Liu Xian's face. "You're really beyond my expectations."
Liu Xian sobbed, "Feng Qishi was just a child, and he died like that. To be honest, I really feel it wasn't worth it for him."
"Why are you so deeply affected?" Mu Anxiao asked.
Liu Xian slowly stopped crying and said, "Let me tell you a secret."
"A secret?" Mu Anxiao exclaimed. "Forget it, I don't want to know."
"Why?" Liu Xian pouted and asked.
Mu Anxiao said, "The more I know, the more secrets I have to hide. It's too tiring."
"What kind of logic is that?" Fan Yan walked to Liu Xian's side and casually slung an arm around Liu Xian's shoulder.
Mu Anxiao glanced at Fan Yan, who was naturally holding Liu Xian's shoulder, and said, "Are you two dating?"
Upon hearing this, Fan Yan hastily removed his arm, looking agitated. "What are you talking about?"
"Can't men date men?" Mu Anxiao asked.
"Of course..." Fan Yan blinked uncomfortably, then looked at Liu Xian. "It's not impossible, but it depends on whether one has that kind of preference."
"Do you have that preference?" Mu Anxiao asked.
"Me..." Fan Yan pointed to himself, becoming agitated. "Of course not!"
"You don't? I think you two are quite a good match," Mu Anxiao said calmly.
The Yin Messenger in the suit looked down at Mu Anxiao's cluelessness and shook his head helplessly.
Liu Xian continued to cry, and Fan Yan was speechless.
Mu Anxiao, seeing Fan Yan's increasingly awkward and uncomfortable expression, said, "Sorry, I misspoke."
The moment Fan Yan heard Mu Anxiao's words, he felt relieved.
"It's okay, you don't understand either," Fan Yan said with a smile.
Then, Mu Anxiao glanced at Liu Xian and asked, "So, do you know his secret?"
"Yes," Fan Yan nodded.
Mu Anxiao, upon hearing this, fixed her gaze on Liu Xian's face. "How many people have you told?"
"Just him," Liu Xian said, pointing to Fan Yan.
Mu Anxiao nodded and turned to look at the Yin Messenger in the suit.
The Yin Messenger in the suit understood her meaning and said, "What are you looking at me for? I'm not human."
Mu Anxiao's eyes widened.
The Yin Messenger in the suit was startled by Mu Anxiao's gaze again. "Alright, alright, I won't listen. I'm leaving." He then turned to Zhang Yan and said, "Let's go."
Zhang Yan quickly put his hands behind his back and walked past them towards the room without a word.
The Yin Messenger in the suit turned to look at Zhang Yan's retreating back, pouted, and left.
Mu Anxiao glanced sideways at the disappearing figure of the Yin Messenger in the suit, then turned back to Liu Xian and said, "Stop crying. Say whatever you want to say."
"You're willing to listen."
"I'll listen, and I won't tell anyone else," Mu Anxiao said faintly.
Fan Yan, however, was puzzled by Mu Anxiao's recent behavior. "What were you looking at just now?"
"Nothing," Mu Anxiao replied faintly.
"Why do I feel like you were glaring at someone?" Fan Yan asked softly.
Mu Anxiao tilted her head. "I don't like listening to other people's secrets. I was just contemplating whether or not to listen."
"Why did you choose to listen then?" Liu Xian asked with a sob.
"You've helped me a lot. Anyway, I'll be leaving here soon. Even if I listen, I'll forget it quickly," Mu Anxiao shrugged. "It doesn't matter."
"Thank you," Liu Xian said suddenly.
"Why are you thanking me all of a sudden?" Mu Anxiao asked, confused.
"Nowadays, many people are willing to listen to my secrets, but few are willing to listen to my past. So, since you're willing to listen, of course I have to thank you," Liu Xian said, grinning with his swollen, tear-stained mouth.
"You really shouldn't smile. You look really ugly when you smile now," Mu Anxiao said, pointing to Liu Xian's mouth.
Liu Xian continued to smile.
Mu Anxiao was speechless for a moment and then asked, "So, are you going to tell me a secret or your past?"
"A past secret."
"Past..." Mu Anxiao repeated, then looked at Fan Yan. "Then let me treat you to a meal. When we get there, you can tell me slowly."
"Okay," Fan Yan agreed immediately.
Liu Xian said, "You don't have to be so excited."
"Let's go," Mu Anxiao said, turning around.
Immediately, Zhang Yan, who heard Mu Anxiao's voice inside the house, rushed to open the door and asked, "Can I come with you?"
"What are you following us for?" Mu Anxiao frowned, her eyes glancing towards Liu Xian.
"Boss, are you willing to listen to me talk about my past?" Liu Xian asked.
Zhang Yan nodded. "Of course, I am. It's also a way to care for employees."
Liu Xian smiled faintly and looked back at Mu Anxiao. "Let's call the boss. After all, he's your grandfather."
