Chapter 467 A Heart Unchanged by Time

The number one soul spirit child looked at Feng Qishi's expression, wondering about his current identity, and said, "That's not right. He's already a soul, how can you break his leg?"

Feng Qishi's expression froze.

Mu Anxiao calmly said, "I have a token that leads below..."

"It's a jade token," the little follower corrected.

Mu Anxiao hesitated for a moment and said, "Whatever token it is, I'll take him down soon to let him receive the most severe punishment."

"No need," the number three soul spirit child said, pouting, looking like he was about to cry.

"No need, we just won't play with him."

"No, I have to deal with both of them. How can I deceive you?" Mu Anxiao said, grabbing the ear of the small demon.

The small demon looked wronged.

Seeing this, the soul spirit children crouched down without a word and disappeared.

The little follower did not leave, watching Feng Qishi and the small demon whose ears were being pulled. He said, "They don't know, but I can see that you find it very boring to be with us."

The small demon pursed his lips tightly.

Mu Anxiao released her hand.

Feng Qishi rubbed his ear, which didn't hurt at all, and stood up. "It is indeed quite boring to play with you."

"I knew it," the little follower pouted.

Feng Qishi crouched down again, put his hands on the little follower's shoulders, and said, "I'm very happy that you are still childlike, but we are adults now. We can't accept your games. Please forgive us."

"We never enjoyed childhood. To you, these games are boring, but to us, they are precious. I didn't expect you to dislike them. I'm sorry."

"What do you mean by not enjoying childhood?" Feng Qishi asked, confused.

Mu Anxiao looked down at the little follower's tender little face and said, "You only died not long ago, right?"

"It's been decades. I died of illness. After I died, the underworld saw that I had the aptitude and made me a soul spirit. Now, I only remember how I died and how many years I've been dead. I don't remember anything else," the little follower said with a look of desolation.

"I'm sorry, I didn't know," the small demon said, lowering his head.

"It's not your fault. I thought you would like what I like. Who knew I would cause you trouble," the little follower said faintly.

"I can play soccer with you, but not in the deep forest. That place is too eerie," Feng Qishi said.

"Then where should we play?" the little follower asked excitedly.

"Right here," Feng Qishi pointed to their current spot.

The moment Zhang Yan heard Feng Qishi's words, he opened the door with an angry look on his face and said, "No playing ball here, you'll break all my furniture."

"This is a park, any open space will do. But it has to be at midnight, otherwise, it will scare people," Feng Qishi corrected.

"No need. I'm happy to hear you say that. Actually," the little follower smiled, "I prefer hide-and-seek."

"Alright," Feng Qishi nodded.

The little follower grinned, crouched down, and disappeared.

Immediately, Mu Anxiao sighed and turned to look at Zhang Yan. "Help protect him. Feng Qishi and I are going to buy breakfast."

"Okay," Zhang Yan agreed readily.

The small demon glanced at Feng Qishi and took a step back, sitting on the ground.

Zhang Yan frowned and looked down at the small demon. "Go sit on the sofa. Why are you sitting here?"

"I like the floor," the small demon said, tilting his head up.

"Oh, you're a dog. I forgot," Zhang Yan said, walking past him into the bathroom.

Feng Qishi looked at the small demon with reluctance and said, "Take good care of yourself."

"You don't have to be like this," Mu Anxiao said helplessly, turned, walked to the door, opened it, and left.

The small demon smiled at Feng Qishi, and Feng Qishi turned to follow Mu Anxiao.

Leaving the room, just as Mu Anxiao was about to walk towards the yard gate, Liu Xian, who had finished his night shift, returned.

"Hello," Feng Qishi greeted him involuntarily.

Mu Anxiao glanced at Feng Qishi and then turned to look at Liu Xian. "You're back."

Hearing this, Liu Xian stopped and nodded. "Mm, I'm off work." As he spoke, he yawned.

"Have you eaten?" Mu Anxiao asked.

Liu Xian yawned several times and said, "I ate a bowl of instant noodles at four in the morning. I'm not hungry yet."

"Then I'll bring some for you. You can heat it up and eat it when you're up," Mu Anxiao said again.

Liu Xian smiled. "Then I'll trouble you. Thank you." After speaking, he walked around Mu Anxiao towards the room.

Feng Qishi looked at Liu Xian's retreating back and, thinking about what the little follower had said yesterday, his eyes darkened.

Mu Anxiao glanced at Feng Qishi and asked, "What's wrong with you?"

Feng Qishi snapped back to attention, looked at Mu Anxiao, and shook his head.

"It's nothing, let's go then," Mu Anxiao said, turning and walking towards the outside of the yard.

Feng Qishi followed Mu Anxiao and asked, "What did you eat last night?"

"Hot pot," Mu Anxiao replied.

Feng Qishi's mouth watered when he heard that. "I really want to eat it too."

"I can cook it for you," Mu Anxiao said.

Feng Qishi's eyes lit up. Thinking of the process of making hot pot, he asked, "How are you going to cook it for me?"

"I'll cook some vegetables and a packet of hot pot base. How you make it after that is up to you," Mu Anxiao said as they walked.

Feng Qishi swallowed and said, "Your words are as good as saying nothing."

"I can cook you some breakfast," Mu Anxiao said again.

Feng Qishi smiled. "Let's forget it, I'm not hungry."

"You should eat 'xiang'," Mu Anxiao suddenly stopped and said.

Feng Qishi also stopped at the same time and asked, "Why should I eat 'xiang'?"

"It suits you," Mu Anxiao said with a blank look, pointing at Feng Qishi.

Feng Qishi pushed Mu Anxiao's finger away and said, "If we don't go buy breakfast soon, it'll be sold out. Let's go." He took a step back, moved behind Mu Anxiao, and deliberately pushed her forward, just to prevent her from saying any more words that made him feel speechless.

More than ten minutes later, Mu Anxiao bought breakfast and was on her way back. She asked, "Do you think I should go see you?"

"Aren't I here?" Feng Qishi pointed to himself.

Mu Anxiao held a peeled tea egg in her hand and said, "Not you, your body." She then took a bite of the tea egg.

"Why did you suddenly think of this?" Feng Qishi asked.

Mu Anxiao shook her head, eating as she spoke. "I don't know. I just saw Liu Xian like that and suddenly felt... you are also a life, gone just like that. Although I can see you, others can't." She swallowed the egg and continued, "Anyway, I just feel that I should go and send off your body."

"You mean, if it weren't for Liu Xian, I wouldn't be a life."
