The Yin official listened to the boy’s subsequent words and was moved.
The black-clothed Yin official smiled upon hearing the boy’s statement and asked, “Then do you want to take him in?”
“Huh?” The boy was startled and asked, “Sir, can you not understand me? I simply cannot adapt to the environment here. To be honest, I’m terrified of you. Please let me go. I’m only suited to be a soul spirit. Such a powerful position isn’t for me.”
The young man looked at the boy’s expression and thought about how he himself had become a soul spirit. He said softly, “You can do it, little boss.”
“Can you please stop talking,” the boy said softly, looking up at the young man.
The black-clothed Yin official’s smile grew brighter upon hearing the young man’s words, “Why do you call your follower ‘little boss’?”
“Because he’s powerful,” the young man replied.
The black-clothed Yin official, seeing the carefree expression on the young man’s face as he spoke, smiled and asked, “What was your position over there?”
“Me?” The young man pointed to himself and asked, “Why are you asking me this?”
“Do you want to have a position?” the black-clothed Yin official asked with a smile.
The young man’s gaze involuntarily flickered. “You only had your eyes on my little boss, so why are you asking me?”
“I want to ask,” the black-clothed Yin official said.
The young man twisted the corner of his mouth. “Alright, since you’re so sincere, I’ll tell you. In the future, I was a Yin official, and a particularly powerful one at that. Unfortunately, I made a mistake and was demoted to…” He deliberately lowered his voice, “…a soul spirit.”
“Such a large soul spirit,” the black-clothed Yin official chuckled.
“I am an exception,” the young man said, lowering his eyes.
“Good, you continue to follow your follower,” the black-clothed Yin official said. He then looked down at the boy, “I’ll give you two partners. This way, you capture demons, and they’ll protect you. What do you say?”
The boy looked up at both the Yin official and the young man. “Since you’ve already considered everything so thoroughly for me, then so be it.”
“Alright, let’s stamp it,” the black-clothed Yin official said, extending his hand and conjuring three written documents.
“How do we stamp it?” the boy asked, looking up at the papers.
The black-clothed Yin official smiled and said, “What else can we use? Blood.”
“Blood?” The boy repeated, putting his hands behind his back. “Then I still won’t agree. I’m a person who likes freedom, always being confined in this dark cave, I can’t stand it.” He shook his head.
“I meant demon blood,” the black-clothed Yin official said, glancing at the demons.
The demons’ faces revealed expressions of terror one by one.
“If I contribute blood, can my crimes be reduced?” the leopard-patterned demon, Number One, said, his eyes darting about.
“You criminal demon dare to negotiate terms with me? Fine, then it’s you,” the black-clothed Yin official said, and with a whoosh, he flew to the front of the leopard-patterned demon, Number One.
The leopard-patterned demon, Number One, looked at the black-clothed Yin official in front of him with terror, swallowed and said, “Release them, little follower.”
“Okay.” Upon hearing that his own blood wasn’t needed, the boy’s entire being relaxed.
The next second, the boy withdrew the soul-binding rope, and the demons were instantly freed. The black-clothed Yin official grabbed the arm of the leopard-patterned demon, Number One, and said, “It’s you.” As he spoke, he pulled up the leopard-patterned demon’s arm, flicked his two fingers sharply, and drew them across the demon’s arm, causing blood to seep out.
“You come here.” He said this without regard for whether the leopard-patterned demon, Number One, was in pain.
“Okay.” As the Yin official took a step forward, the vine spirit suddenly grabbed his arm and said, “If that’s the case, then I should be the one promoted.”
Hearing this, the black-clothed Yin official said with his back turned, “You were the one who suggested that method just now!”
The vine spirit looked calmly at the black-clothed Yin official’s back and said, “It was me.”
“I sensed from the first moment that you had ill intentions, and as expected, you are truly a scoundrel,” the black-clothed Yin official said. He shoved the leopard-patterned demon, Number One, aside, turned around, and instantly floated in front of the vine spirit. “Let him go.”
“Okay, I understand.” The vine spirit carefully took the key from the black-clothed Yin official’s waist and, feigning obedience, released the hand holding the Yin official’s arm.
The Yin official stepped back half a pace without speaking.
The black-clothed Yin official looked at the Yin official and said, “Go stamp it!” As he spoke, he tossed the papers he was holding to the boy.
The boy reached out and easily caught the papers. “Here I come.”
“Good,” the young man replied. He stepped forward, pulled up the arm of the leopard-patterned demon, Number One, and said, “Bear with it, I’ll heal your wound.”
Hearing this, the leopard-patterned demon, Number One, looked up at the young man and said with a pouted lip, “I’m so touched.”
“Stop being touched, just bear with it.” As he spoke, the young man firmly pressed down on the injured arm of the leopard-patterned demon, Number One.
The leopard-patterned demon, Number One, cried out and began to weep.
Seeing the state of the leopard-patterned demon, Number One, the other demons huddled together in fright.
Following that, the young man pressed his palm, stained with demon blood, firmly onto the paper.
The boy waved at the leopard-patterned demon, Number One, saying, “Give me your arm.”
The leopard-patterned demon, Number One, pouted and obediently bent down to offer his arm to the boy. The boy gave him a childlike smile, but his expression instantly turned sinister. He pressed his entire hand onto the demon’s arm and then looked up at the tightly pursed lips of the leopard-patterned demon, Number One, asking, “It hurts a lot, doesn’t it?”
“Please take your hand away quickly,” the leopard-patterned demon, Number One, choked out.
“Okay.” The boy nodded, removed his hand, and pressed it onto the paper.
The Yin official walked to the side of the leopard-patterned demon, Number One, and smiled, “It’s my turn.”
“Okay,” the leopard-patterned demon, Number One, responded bitterly and straightened up, actively offering his arm to the Yin official.
The next second, the leopard-patterned demon, Number One, burst into tears.
The black-clothed Yin official glared at the vine spirit, then turned to the three of them and asked, “Are we done?”
“We’re done,” the boy replied, throwing the papers back to the black-clothed Yin official.
The black-clothed Yin official instantly reached out and took the papers. “I know you’re a child, so from now on, you’ll go out and capture demons. Then, the captured demons should be sent to the cave next door.”
“Why not here?” the boy asked.
The black-clothed Yin official smiled, “Because here…”
Mid-sentence, the Yin official’s eyes widened suddenly, and he shouted, “Be careful!” With that, he quickly stepped forward to pull the black-clothed Yin official away, and as he spread his arms, several vines pierced through his body.
“Damn it,” the vine spirit frowned. With a wave of his hand, those vines instantly detached from the Yin official’s body. The Yin official let out a groan and spat out a mouthful of black blood.
The black-clothed Yin official’s eyes widened as he watched the Yin official’s body gradually dissipate. He yelled, “Fool!” and then swiftly swung his arm forcefully towards the vine spirit.
Unexpectedly, the vine spirit dodged.
“What is this?” the vine spirit asked, holding up a withered leaf.
