Chapter 301 A Smile

Mu Anxiao hadn't expected to find so much common ground with Liu Xian. Especially after hearing what Liu Xian said, she was reminded of her past self, the one who was glib-tongued and only considered her own interests. Looking at Liu Xian, the corner of her mouth curved up slightly as she said, "Thank you."

"You can smile?" Fan Yan asked, surprised, looking at the upward curve of Mu Anxiao's lips.

Upon hearing this, Mu Anxiao's expression turned cold again, and she lowered her head in silence.

"No need to thank me," Liu Xian said with a faint smile.

Fan Yan glanced at both Liu Xian and Mu Anxiao, then smiled. "Then we won't disturb you. Rest well."

"Mm," Mu Anxiao nodded.

Liu Xian said awkwardly, "Take good care of yourself. Your grandfather is getting old too."

"I know," Mu Anxiao replied faintly.

Seeing Liu Xian's needless chatter, Fan Yan quickly grabbed his arm. "Let's go." He smiled at Mu Anxiao and forcibly pulled Liu Xian out of the room.

"What are you doing?" Liu Xian asked Fan Yan after closing the door, as they stood under the eaves outside.

Fan Yan whispered, "You don't know the boss dislikes being called old." He reached out to catch something in the air and said, "The rain has stopped."

"Oh, I forgot," Liu Xian suddenly realized.

"Let's hope the boss didn't hear," Fan Yan consoled Liu Xian.

Liu Xian nodded, then walked towards his room with Fan Yan.

Meanwhile, Feng Qishi, completely drenched, stood motionlessly outside the courtyard, thinking about his mother's misdeeds. He felt embarrassed to face Mu Anxiao.

In Zhang Yan's room, Mu Anxiao looked up at Zhang Yan, who had stopped at the door of the inner room, and asked, "What's wrong?"

"Feng Qishi is here. Go take a look."

"How do you know?"

"I installed surveillance cameras at the main entrance and saw him," Zhang Yan said, glancing at Feng Qishi, who was looking down on his phone screen.

Mu Anxiao frowned helplessly. "That guy actually didn't listen to me." As she spoke, she stood up and looked at Zhang Yan. "I'll call him over."

"Mm," Zhang Yan agreed.

Mu Anxiao didn't say anything, quickly stepped forward, opened the door, and walked out of the room. She closed the door and called out, "Feng Qishi, come here."

Hearing this, Feng Qishi was startled. He quickly raised his head and saw Mu Anxiao peeking out from outside Zhang Yan's room. He replied, "Seeing that you're okay puts my mind at ease. It's nothing. I'll be going now."

Mu Anxiao didn't speak, looked up at the sky, and quickly walked towards Feng Qishi.

In the room, Liu Xian and Fan Yan exchanged a glance the moment they heard Feng Qishi's voice. Fan Yan said, "He's here."

"Let's go see," Liu Xian raised an eyebrow.

"Forget it," Fan Yan stood in front of the mirror, looking at his reflection. "He's here to apologize. Forgive him."

"That guy is alright. I'll let this go," Liu Xian said, and then he tapped on his phone.

Mu Anxiao came up to Feng Qishi and asked, "Didn't I ask you to take care of your sister? What are you doing here?"

"Your bleeding has stopped," Feng Qishi asked weakly.

"If it hadn't, you would still see me," Mu Anxiao said coldly.

"I..." Feng Qishi thought of his mother's appearance, took half a step back, bowed, and said, "I'm sorry."

"Why are you apologizing to me?" Mu Anxiao asked, looking down at Feng Qishi.

Feng Qishi slowly straightened up, looked down at Mu Anxiao, and said, "My mother has never hit anyone like this before. Today, I don't know why..."
