Chapter 282 The Two Who Cannot Escape

"With your spacetime trinkets, you still think you can capture us," the second evil spirit sneered, "Don't be ridiculous."

"So what?" Mu Anxiao said, and with a sudden movement, she grabbed the second evil spirit's arm.

However, the second evil spirit showed no fear. Taking a shallow breath, he said, "Your hand, doesn't it feel anything?"

Before the second evil spirit mentioned it, Mu Anxiao hadn't felt anything. But the moment he spoke, she suddenly felt her palm burning. She released her grip and looked down, seeing a crack appear on her palm.

"As expected of an evil spirit, their actions are always so unexpected," she remarked.

"That's all for today, we'll meet again," the second evil spirit said, and vanished the moment he turned.

Mu Anxiao assumed he had possessed Shi Momo, and thus fixed her gaze on the back of Shi Momo's head.

The evil spirit followed Mu Anxiao's gaze towards Shi Momo and said, "He did not enter her body."

Upon hearing this, Mu Anxiao snapped back to attention, looked at the evil spirit, and coldly stated, "I know."

"You know nothing," the evil spirit said, turning and returning to Yan Ruoruo's body.

Mu Anxiao narrowed her eyes, looked down at her bleeding wound, and muttered, "Things that come at a steep price truly have their profound aspects. I couldn't discern any weakness on the evil spirit's body at all. Damn it."

At the dining table, Feng Qishi propped his chin with one hand, staring at the self-muttering Mu Anxiao, and said, "Crazy."

"Brother, why are you scolding me?" Feng Feng, sitting opposite him, expressed her displeasure.

Feng Qishi glared back at Feng Feng and said, "Who are you talking about? I'm going to the restroom."

"I'll go with you," Feng Feng said softly, half-rising from her seat.

Feng Qishi blinked, glanced at the group chatting cheerfully on the sofa, and said, "Are you serious? I'm going to the toilet, why are you tagging along?"

"Who's tagging along? I feel awkward," Feng Feng said, tilting her eyes suggestively.

"Then I won't go," Feng Qishi said indifferently.

"Alright then," Feng Feng nodded and sat back down.

Thus, the two of them fell into an awkward silence. Mu Anxiao stood rooted to the spot, her eyes fixed on Yan Ruoruo's retreating back, and sighed.

On the sofa, Mother Feng watched Shi Momo and Yan Ruoruo, who were incessantly praising themselves, with a playful smile. "It's wonderful to have daughters like you."

"If you have adopted daughters, then I seem to have no place left," Feng Feng lamented.

"It's okay, you're still my biological daughter," Feng Qishi comforted her.

Feng Feng pouted and said, "I have a bad feeling, Brother. Let's go."

"I dare not," Feng Qishi said, glancing at Mother Feng's profile. "As the saying goes, you can hide from the fifteenth day of the first lunar month, but not the fifteenth day of the eighth. If we leave now, we'll still be scolded when we return. It's all the same."

"But there are no outsiders here," Feng Feng pointed out.

"You're right," Feng Qishi nodded, thought for a moment, and said, "Then, let's go."

"Let's go," Feng Feng exclaimed excitedly.

"Let's go," Feng Qishi declared with resolve.

Immediately after, as Feng Qishi and Feng Feng were halfway to standing up, Mother Feng noticed and called out, "What are you two doing?"

Upon hearing her, the two of them froze. Feng Qishi sighed helplessly and sat back down.

Feng Feng, however, was not one to be easily deterred. She clicked her tongue impatiently, pulled out her chair, turned around, and said, "Mom, what exactly do you mean?"

"What's your attitude?" Mother Feng pointed at Feng Feng and said.

Feng Feng gasped and said, "Mom, it's fine if you bring Shi Momo back, but why bring her?"
