"No," Feng Qishi said, pointing at Mu Anxiao. "I'm here to see her."
Fan Yan, upon hearing this, glanced at Mu Anxiao, who was staring at Feng Qishi. "Oh, then you two talk," he said and walked away.
Mu Anxiao glanced at Fan Yan's retreating figure and sighed, turning back to Feng Qishi, whose features were blurred in the dim yellow light. "You need something from me?"
"This park looks quite pleasant. Let's go for a walk."
Mu Anxiao furrowed her brow. "Did you not see anything strange on your way here?"
"What do you mean by that?" Feng Qishi frowned slightly.
"The elixirs I gave you will cause you to see many things you've never seen before. Of course, the effects will wear off after a month," Mu Anxiao explained.
Feng Qishi understood her words and calmly replied, "I saw them on the way, but I didn't feel anything."
"Didn't feel anything..." Mu Anxiao repeated, shrugging. "Alright then. Your Uncle Chen will be out soon."
"I came to see you, not Uncle Chen," Feng Qishi stated firmly.
"I doubt we have much to talk about," Mu Anxiao said, reluctant to be alone with Feng Qishi.
"We don't have much to talk about, but since you're so fond of meddling, don't you want to know why I was angry with you?"
"No matter what, she's your mother. Anyone with a conscience wouldn't want their mother to be criticized by others," Mu Anxiao said. "If you weren't angry, I would find it strange."
"Let's not talk about that. I'll just ask you this: why do you meddle so much?" Feng Qishi lifted his chin.
"How you feel about it is your business. Anyway..."
"You were next to Uncle Chen when he called me, weren't you?" Feng Qishi interrupted.
"How did you know your Uncle Chen called you?" Mu Anxiao was surprised.
Feng Qishi's lips curved. "I'm starting to see that you're not faking your foolishness; you're genuinely foolish."
"Explain yourself," Mu Anxiao said, agitated.
"I checked the records and found that Uncle Chen called me. I also figured you must have overheard my conversation with my mother, which is why you said those things. I just didn't expect you to be so meddlesome," Feng Qishi said with a faint smile, then nudged Mu Anxiao's shoulder.
Mu Anxiao instinctively shifted to the side. "Speak properly. Why are you pushing me?" she asked, then looked down at her shoulder.
"Because I like it," Feng Qishi said, deliberately raising his voice.
"Alright, I'll go..."
Before Mu Anxiao could finish, Zhang Yan opened the door. "Young man, why are you here?"
Feng Qishi smiled at Zhang Yan. "Oh, I'm here to see her," he said, pointing at Mu Anxiao.
Zhang Yan chuckled. "Since you're here, come in."
Mu Anxiao said helplessly, "It's so late. Why are you letting him stay?"
"Mind your own business," Zhang Yan said childishly, stepping out and taking Feng Qishi's arm. "Come on, Grandpa will show you something good."
"What good thing?" Feng Qishi felt a sense of foreboding, just like Mu Anxiao.
"You'll know when you go in," Zhang Yan said, raising an eyebrow at Feng Qishi.
"He still needs to go home."
By the time Mu Anxiao said this, Feng Qishi had already been pulled into the room by Zhang Yan.
"Fine, consider me unheard." As Mu Anxiao turned to leave, Zhang Yan's head popped out from the room. "Why are you still standing there? Come in."
