"Say whatever you want, I just won't allow you to associate with her."
"She's my friend," Feng Qishi roared.
"I thought she was some noble lady, but to have this identity, how laughable," the woman said, deliberately speeding up the car.
Feng Qishi leaned back against the seat in frustration. "Mom, she just got here with nothing. If you abandon her like this, and word gets out, your reputation will be ruined."
"Say whatever you want, anyway," the woman snorted, "I don't care."
The woman's cold, indifferent attitude drove Feng Qishi mad. "Ahhh, I can't stand it anymore!" he exclaimed, pounding the seat in anger.
"If you have the guts, jump out of the car," the woman said provocatively.
Hearing this, Feng Qishi sat up abruptly and grabbed the door handle. "I'll really jump."
"I know you're capable of such things, but remember this: if you open this door, your life stops here. Of course," the woman grinned, "if you die, I won't feel anything. But your dad and your grandparents will be heartbroken. Recently, I heard your ninety-year-old grandpa isn't in good health. Your death might be too much for him."
"I've never met a mother like you," Feng Qishi sighed in resignation, leaning back into the seat. He took out his phone, thinking that Uncle Chen lived nearby. He flipped through his contacts to find Uncle Chen's number.
On the sidewalk, Mu Anxiao took a disc from her pocket, looked around, and muttered, "That's strange, it was reacting just now, why did it suddenly disappear?"
"Benefactor."
Hearing the voice, Mu Anxiao slowly turned and looked at Uncle Chen, who was waving at her. "It's you."
Uncle Chen smiled sheepishly and was about to step forward when his phone vibrated twice. "Hold on a moment," he said, taking out his phone and opening it. 'That monster is near your house. Please help send her home. Thank you.'
"This kid," he muttered, silencing his phone and walking up to Mu Anxiao. "Benefactor, did that kid Feng Qishi do anything to you?"
"You know he was looking for me?" Mu Anxiao asked, surprised.
"That kid insisted you were a monster, but I didn't believe him," Uncle Chen shook his head.
"If you think I am, then I am. Anyway," Mu Anxiao said coldly, "you'll forget me soon."
"What do you mean by that?" Uncle Chen's face showed a look of fear.
"It means nothing, it's just... you know too much..." Her voice trailed off. Mu Anxiao suddenly remembered that humans couldn't see monsters. She frowned and quickly took out the disc, pointing it at Uncle Chen's face. The disc remained still.
"What are you doing?" Uncle Chen asked curiously, looking at the disc in Mu Anxiao's hand. He chuckled, "Is that a compass? It seems a bit big."
Mu Anxiao didn't hear Uncle Chen. Her eyes were fixed on the unmoving pointer. She thought, strange, it was reacting just now, why did it suddenly stop? Could it be? She looked up at Uncle Chen, her brow furrowed. Did the wolf demon not find him? But then, why could he see monsters?
"Benefactor, what's wrong?" Uncle Chen leaned forward, looking at Mu Anxiao in confusion.
"Nothing," Mu Anxiao retracted the disc and shook her head.
"Let me take you home," Uncle Chen said with a smile.
