Hu Yuan felt a considerable amount of relief.
The wolf demon clutched its chest, leaning against the table for support as it gasped for air.
Hu Yuan looked down at the wolf demon’s pained expression and said, “Sorry.”
The wolf demon shook its head, then looked up at Ma Yan, who had reopened her eyes and was glowing with renewed vigor. With a heartfelt thought, it conveyed: She's recovered.
Seeing Ma Yan’s recovery, Zhang Yan also departed.
Hu Yuan cautiously glanced at Ma Yan before returning to his own body.
Ma Yan no longer feared any glare and defiantly looked at the wolf demon, asking, “What did you do to me?”
The wolf demon offered no answer, instead shooting her a glare before walking away.
“Hu Yuan, you really want to mess with me now,” Ma Yan roared.
The wolf demon returned to the table, picked up its bag, and headed towards the classroom door.
Ma Yan clenched her fists, turning to look at the two girls standing beside her.
“Boss, you’re okay?” the second girl asked.
“I was fine all along,” Ma Yan replied, grabbing her bag and quickly walking towards the classroom door.
The second and third girls exchanged a look before following.
Meanwhile, Mu Anxiao had already left the school gates. She then found a secluded spot, free from cameras, and dispelled her invisibility. With a flick of her fingers, she performed a divination to ascertain the current precise location of her deskmate.
“Do you want to go see Feng Feng?” Feng Qishi suddenly appeared, blocking Mu Anxiao’s path.
Mu Anxiao looked up at Feng Qishi and said, “I don’t have time. Can you tell your sister for me?”
“You haven’t shown up all day; my sister misses you a lot,” Feng Qishi said, casually taking Mu Anxiao’s arm.
Mu Anxiao clicked her tongue. “I have more important things to do. Your sister has completely recovered; she just needs a few days of rest. Can you please let me pass?”
“No, where are you going?” Feng Qishi insisted, digging for answers.
Mu Anxiao’s face showed impatience. “You’ve really had enough, haven’t you? What does it have to do with you where I’m going? Big brother, you should go back where you came from. I really have something to do.”
“You’re not…?” Feng Qishi asked with a serious expression, looking left and right. “You’re not going to get revenge on that homeroom teacher, are you?”
“I’m not that bored,” Mu Anxiao said.
Feng Qishi released her arm and smiled. “That’s good then. Listen, over here…”
Before he could finish, the deskmate happened to walk by and saw Mu Anxiao. “It’s you.” She stopped, a slight smile playing on her lips.
Mu Anxiao pushed Feng Qishi aside and walked up to her deskmate. “You’re the girl who borrowed something from me today.”
“Mhm, you still remember me,” the deskmate nodded, no longer looking listless.
“Yeah, I thought you had forgotten all about me. I didn’t expect,” Mu Anxiao thought of Zhang Yan and put on a kindly demeanor, “that you’d still greet me after leaving the school.”
“You’re very diligent. Why did the teacher want to get rid of you?” the deskmate asked.
Initially, Mu Anxiao thought she knew, but seeing her perplexed expression, she decided not to explain further.
“There’s no why. Thank you for looking out for me this morning. You should make more friends too. I’ve noticed you haven’t spoken to anyone except about your studies,” Mu Anxiao stated directly.
The deskmate was silent for a moment. “It’s nothing. I’ll be going now.”
“Alright,” Mu Anxiao took a step back.
The deskmate glanced cautiously at Mu Anxiao before turning and walking away.
Mu Anxiao watched the deskmate’s retreating back, letting out a sigh of relief.
“You were waiting for her, weren’t you?” Feng Qishi asked, walking up behind Mu Anxiao.
Mu Anxiao turned her head slightly. “It’s none of your business.”
“It’s indeed none of my business. Come on, let’s go see my sister,” Feng Qishi smiled.
“I’m not going. I need to go find Zhang Yan,” Mu Anxiao refused.
“I’ll go with you,” Feng Qishi said.
Mu Anxiao blinked in surprise, turning to Feng Qishi and looking up at him. “Didn’t you want to see your sister? What are you doing following me now?”
“I wasn’t the one taking care of her today. Besides, being by your side can stimulate your thinking more,” Feng Qishi said with a persistent attitude.
Mu Anxiao looked at Feng Qishi’s expectant eyes and said coldly, “Didn’t you say you’d give me two and a half days? It’s only been half a day, and you’re already bringing this up again. If you mention it again, I’ll refuse you outright.”
Upon hearing this, Feng Qishi grinned cheekily. “Since you’re already thinking about it, I won’t pester you further. We can… contact each other by phone.”
“Mm,” Mu Anxiao nodded.
Then, just as Feng Qishi was about to leave, the second and third girls appeared beside Mu Anxiao.
“You’re here,” the second girl said.
Mu Anxiao turned her head calmly to look at the second girl who spoke, saying coldly, “Your scheme succeeded. Why are you looking for me now?”
“You two know each other?” the second girl asked, glancing at Feng Qishi.
Feng Qishi was also quite annoyed by the second girl’s attitude. “Does it matter to you if we know each other? You should hurry home and do your homework.”
“Is it your place to talk?” the third girl pointed at Feng Qishi.
Feng Qishi let out a cold laugh. “Heh, are there any junior students who talk to a senior like this? Don’t you know about respecting elders?”
“I don’t know, but I do know that you’re in cahoots with her, which means you’re also the type who needs to be taught a lesson.”
“Such young kids, talking about fighting and killing. Is that interesting?” Mu Anxiao looked indifferently at the two girls who had been trying to bully her since morning and asked.
Immediately, the second and third girls shifted their gaze uniformly to Mu Anxiao’s face. The third girl said, “Just like Boss said, anyone who knows Hu Yuan is a weak person. They’re perfect for practicing on.”
Hearing the third girl’s irresponsible words, Mu Anxiao suddenly remembered the pain Hu Yuan had told her about. Looking at the two girls before her, she understood a truth: if not now, then when should one fight back?
“You people don’t study properly every day,” she glared at them, “and you put your energy into these pointless things. When you look back on this in the future, you’ll surely find it laughable. Of course, these words are pointless to you, but in my eyes, you have all become more cowardly invalids than Hu Yuan.”
“Who are you calling an invalid?” the second girl pointed at Mu Anxiao.
“Your psyches have major problems. At least Hu Yuan is mentally healthier than you,” Mu Anxiao said deliberately to provoke them.
“You’re really annoying,” the third girl shouted.
“Once you’re out of school, you’ll have no backup. If you want to deal with me, then bring it on. I’m not afraid of you,” Mu Anxiao said, rolling up her sleeves.
