Chapter 331 Letting Go of Longing

“This…”

“Your brother mentioned you haven't been in good spirits lately, so I took it upon myself to call him out and have some fun together. This way, you can also relax your mood,” Mu Anxiao said, seeing Feng Qishi’s hesitant expression.

Feng Feng looked at Mu Anxiao and asked, “Are your injuries alright?”

“I’m fine.”

“You’re not angry with that woman anymore?” Feng Feng intentionally referred to his mother as ‘that woman.’

Feng Qishi glanced at Feng Feng and remained silent.

Mu Anxiao shook her head, “There’s nothing to be angry about.”

“You’re truly magnanimous. If it were me, I wouldn’t even bother with anyone related to that woman,” Feng Feng said indifferently.

Mu Anxiao looked down at the disk, which showed no activity, and said, “Alright, let’s go.”

“Where are we going?” Feng Feng asked.

“Where…?” Mu Anxiao said, looking at Zhang Yan.

Zhang Yan smiled, “I know a place with incredibly delicious food, but it’s a bit run-down. I hope you don’t mind.”

“We’ll go wherever you say,” Feng Feng replied.

“Got it.” Zhang Yan agreed with a smile.

Mu Anxiao looked at Feng Feng’s profile, feeling a strange sensation. It made Feng Feng seem unreal, yet she couldn’t pinpoint why.

“What’s wrong?” Feng Qishi asked.

Mu Anxiao snapped back to attention and shook her head.

“Alright,” Feng Qishi glanced at the wolf demon and asked, “Are you coming too?”

“Mm-hmm.” The wolf demon nodded perfunctorily and smiled at Feng Feng, “I’ve seen you before. I was the one who wrote about you on the blackboard.”

“Why did you do that?” Feng Feng asked angrily.

The wolf demon shrugged and deliberately said, “A very ugly fellow came looking for me, gave me your photo, and asked me to go to your class and write about what happened that night on the blackboard as quickly as possible. Since he paid well, I did it.”

“You’re not a student at this school,” Feng Feng exposed.

“You noticed. I must say,” the wolf demon pursed his lips and smiled, continuing, “The walls of your school are incredibly easy to climb. It didn’t take me any effort at all.”

“Don’t you have to go to school?”

“I…”

Just as the wolf demon was about to provoke Feng Feng further, Zhang Yan intervened, “Alright, alright, kids, let’s go.”

Mu Anxiao glanced at the wolf demon’s deliberate actions and sighed helplessly.

Half an hour later, they followed Zhang Yan into a narrow alley. Feng Qishi looked at the surroundings with disdain and asked, “This place is too remote.”

“The food in places like this is the best, what do you know?” Zhang Yan glanced at Feng Qishi and walked to an iron gate.

“It’s not in here, is it?” Feng Qishi exclaimed, walking quickly to Zhang Yan’s side.

Zhang Yan looked at Feng Qishi and smiled, “This is the back door.”

“The back door? Why didn’t you take us through the front?” Feng Qishi sounded indignant.

“The front door,” Zhang Yan repeated, chuckling foolishly, “I’m sorry, it’s just too big inside, and I forgot where the front door is.”

“You…” Feng Qishi pointed at Zhang Yan helplessly, then waved his hand, “Fine, I won’t say anything since you’re my brother. Hurry up and knock.”

“No need to knock,” Zhang Yan said, reaching out and pressing a doorbell on the adjacent wall.

Feng Qishi was speechless.

At this moment, Mu Anxiao looked at the wolf demon and Feng Feng, who were glaring at each other on either side of her, and was about to step forward when both of them grabbed her arms in unison.

“It’s your problem that you don’t like each other,” Mu Anxiao said, staring straight ahead. “It has nothing to do with me. Let go.”

“If you leave, what if she hits me?” the wolf demon said, looking down at Mu Anxiao’s profile.

Mu Anxiao listened to the wolf demon’s words with exasperation, turned her head to meet his eyes, and said, “You’re a man, and she’s a woman. How could she hit you?”

“If you move aside, I’ll hit him.”

Hearing this, Mu Anxiao’s expression froze, and she turned to look at Feng Feng, “No, how much do you dislike him?”

“Because of him, I offended my classmates,” Feng Feng reasoned.

Mu Anxiao, unable to raise her arms, frowned and said, “Then he deserves to be hit, but…”

“Can’t you just quietly be a peacemaker?” Feng Feng abruptly interrupted.

Hearing Feng Feng’s suddenly stiff voice, Mu Anxiao’s eyes showed more vigilance, “Second Evil Spirit, it’s you.”

“Didn’t you just want to see if I could control her? Now, you see clearly, don’t you?”

“I advise you to get out, you…”

Mu Anxiao’s words were cut short as the iron gate was opened by a girl from inside.

Feng Qishi and Zhang Yan both took half a step back. Zhang Yan said, “Old Man Zhang introduced us.”

“It’s Grandpa Zhang,” the girl who opened the door said gently.

Zhang Yan was particularly pleased with the girl’s address and nodded, “Yes, you must be the granddaughter of the shop owner. Old Man Zhang praised you before, and seeing you now, you indeed have an extraordinary aura.”

“Oh, no,” the girl said modestly, then her gaze inadvertently fell on Feng Qishi.

Feng Qishi gave the girl a gentlemanly smile.

The girl nodded slightly and said, “Please come in.”

“Okay,” Zhang Yan agreed, then turned to Mu Anxiao and the other two, “Come in, stop the fuss.”

Feng Feng gave Mu Anxiao an evil smile and uttered three words, “Stop the fuss,” then released her hand and walked to Feng Qishi’s side.

Mu Anxiao narrowed her eyes slightly.

“Second Evil Spirit, you’re truly arrogant,” the wolf demon released her hand and clenched his fists.

“Let’s go,” Mu Anxiao said.

“I ask you, if I use my powers, what will happen?” the wolf demon asked, his gaze fixed on Feng Feng’s retreating back.

Mu Anxiao glanced at the wolf demon, who was filled with rage, and said, “I advise you not to act rashly.”

“What happens if I do?” the wolf demon inquired in detail.

“It will increase this young man’s absorption rate of your soul’s breath,” Mu Anxiao said calmly.

Upon hearing this, the wolf demon became even more enraged, “Damn it, if I could, I’d tear him out.”

“Soon, it’s just that the time isn’t right,” Mu Anxiao said, taking a step forward.

The wolf demon followed Mu Anxiao and asked, “When will it be?”

Mu Anxiao did not answer his question. Instead, she looked around the ancient-style courtyard and felt an inexplicable urge to go back. However, thinking of her mission, she let go of the longing.

“You want to go back?” the wolf demon asked, walking up to Mu Anxiao’s side.

Mu Anxiao looked at the wolf demon and asked, “Do you miss that place?”

“I’m a wolf, so I don’t think as much as you do. However, I really don’t like anything about this place. Sometimes, when I think about myself running on the grasslands in the past,” the wolf demon smiled faintly, “I was truly magnificent.”

Mu Anxiao was speechless at the wolf demon’s words.

“Why aren’t you talking?” the wolf demon asked.

Mu Anxiao swallowed and said, “I don’t understand your wolf world.”
