Chapter 60 No Further Explanation

"Ye Yin." The man in white clenched his fist and forced out the two words stiffly.

Mu Anxiao frowned slightly, watching everything happening here. Then she looked at the man in white beside her and walked forward, saying, "You were the one who transformed him. If it weren't for you, he wouldn't have died at all."

"What business is it of yours?" Ye Yin glared at Mu Anxiao.

Mu Anxiao glanced at the grieving crowd and said, "It was none of my business here originally, but all..." She faltered.

"I seriously suspect you're the problem," Ye Yin turned his attention to Mu Anxiao.

Mu Anxiao froze.

Seeing Mu Anxiao's stunned expression, Shen Yan said, "I told you not to meddle. Now you wait." He then glanced at the man in white who had floated to his parents' side.

"How... how am I the problem?" Mu Anxiao stammered.

"Where were you standing just now?" Ye Yin questioned.

Mu Anxiao wrinkled her nose and pointed at the dry well: "I was standing next to it, just now..."

"She just threw something into the well, and moreover, she..." the young maid said excitedly, "She was talking to someone just now, then the young master shouted from below, and then the young master was gone." After she finished, she pouted and began to cry.

The next second, everyone's gaze shifted entirely to Mu Anxiao's face.

This was all unexpected by Mu Anxiao. Seeing their scrutinizing eyes, she became flustered: "I didn't. I was just trying to save him. The thing I threw down couldn't harm him at all."

Ye Yin glared at the explaining Mu Anxiao, strode to the side of the deceased man in white, squatted down, and looked at his palm. "How do you explain this?" She took his hand.

Mu Anxiao stepped forward and lowered her head to look at the chain-marked palm. She quickly shook her head, "I don't know."

"If I'm not mistaken," Ye Yin gently pointed at the bluish-purple chain marks on his palm, then looked up at Mu Anxiao, "this is something from the underworld. If a human touches it, they die instantly."

"What nonsense are you talking about? I'm fine after touching it," Mu Anxiao said urgently.

Ye Yin let go of the deceased man in white's hand, pushed up on her knees, and asked, "Are you human?"

"I am," Mu Anxiao stated firmly.

"Oh, you're human, so why do I feel a trace of Yin energy on you?" Ye Yin walked up to Mu Anxiao and said.

Mu Anxiao stiffened.

Shen Yan walked gracefully to Mu Anxiao's side and whispered, "Let's go."

Mu Anxiao glanced at Shen Yan beside her and shook her head.

"What do you want to do?" Shen Yan asked coldly.

Mu Anxiao knew that if she answered Shen Yan's question now, it would arouse the suspicion of everyone around her, and might even lead Ye Yin to genuinely place the blame on her. Therefore, she couldn't speak.

Ye Yin stared at Mu Anxiao's silent expression and said, "What, I guessed right."

"What can I say? You've said it all," Mu Anxiao said calmly.

The middle-aged man stood up and walked unsteadily to Mu Anxiao's side, saying, "Did you kill my son?"

"No," Mu Anxiao replied firmly.

The middle-aged man clenched his fists and said, "If it wasn't you, then explain why you suddenly appeared and why my son died right after you did. If you don't give a reason today, I won't let you go." He then turned his head towards the two house servants in the courtyard and said, "Seize her."

In response, Mu Anxiao made no attempt to struggle and was obediently taken away by the two house servants.
