Chapter 91 Close Relationship

Mu Anxiao took a step forward and glanced at the hanging lanterns. "Strange," she asked, "You have quite a large place here, why is it just you? Shouldn't you have disciples or servants?"

"Ah, my disciples and servants all went to find..." The middle-aged man glared at the girl. "They went to find this bratty girl. I'll call them back right away." He then spread his hand and a whistle appeared.

The moment Mu Anxiao saw the whistle, she froze for a moment, then turned to look at Shen Yan.

Shen Yan looked at Mu Anxiao with confusion and abruptly asked, "Why are you looking at me?"

Mu Anxiao shook her head and looked back at the middle-aged man blowing the whistle, thinking, "Strange, I feel like I've seen that thing before, but... where? I can't remember." As she thought this, she frowned.

"Young master."

Hearing the voice, Mu Anxiao was startled by the girl's voice and said, "Don't call me young master, I've told you this several times." She did not look at the girl.

The girl stared straight at Mu Anxiao's profile and said, "My senior brothers and sisters are not to be trifled with. You'd better be careful."

"What you're saying..." Mu Anxiao stopped mid-sentence as the area above her head suddenly lit up. She then frowned and looked up at the many beams of light in the night sky. In an instant, as if realizing something, she looked at the girl and said, "You're not planning to get revenge on me, are you?"

"What do you think?" The girl's lips curved into a sinister smile.

Shen Yan sighed, looking at the girl's expression.

Mu Anxiao felt a chill run down her spine. She feigned indifference and said, "When soldiers come, block them; when water comes, dam it. Bring it on, this young master," she pointed to herself with her thumb, "is not afraid."

The girl was surprised by Mu Anxiao's demeanor.

A quarter of an hour later... Mu Anxiao paced restlessly in the guest room, muttering, "Those kids' senior brothers and sisters are too powerful, each with their own weapons, it's terrifying. What if they gang up on me? The way I treated their junior sister... Oh dear," she rubbed her already messy hair, "What should I do? What should I do?"

"You were quite formidable just now, young master," Shen Yan said, sitting at the table and wiping his canteen.

Mu Anxiao stopped pacing and stomped her foot. "I thought she didn't get along with her senior brothers and sisters. Who knew it wasn't like I thought at all." She lowered her head, as if regretting her past actions.

"They're here," Shen Yan said, raising his eyes.

Mu Anxiao suddenly raised her head in alarm and asked, "Who's here?"

"Who else? The ones looking for revenge, obviously," Shen Yan continued wiping his canteen.

Mu Anxiao's eyes darted around. She glanced at the room door and rushed to the bed, kneeling down. "Tell them I'm not here." With that, she lay down, preparing to crawl under the bed.

Shen Yan calmly watched Mu Anxiao's utterly embarrassing behavior and said, "Don't worry, I'll tell them where you are." He pointed under the bed.

"Good for you," Mu Anxiao stopped her crawling motion, got up, and sat in place, pointing at Shen Yan.

Shen Yan put down his canteen and suddenly stood up.

"What are you doing?" Mu Anxiao exclaimed in surprise.

"What else? Opening the door," Shen Yan said as he walked towards the door.

Mu Anxiao's eyes widened, and she shot up from her seat. "Wait a moment."

Shen Yan completely ignored Mu Anxiao. Just as he stopped at the door and was about to unbolt it, a maid's voice came from outside, "My two young masters, your meals have arrived."
