Chapter 37 The Unseen Yin Messengers

"Hoo hoo hoo...." Mu Anxiao didn't react and started snoring.

The Yin Messenger stared at Mu Anxiao's head, smiled faintly, and took out a black pill from his sleeve, holding it under Mu Anxiao's nose.

In an instant, Mu Anxiao opened her eyes, blurry and staring at the dark pill floating in front of her, mumbling, "What is this thing?" As she reached out, the pill moved away from her sight.

The Yin Messenger stood up and looked down at Mu Anxiao, who was frozen in expression, with a smile curling on his lips, "Can't see me for a while, huh?"

"Who's talking?" Mu Anxiao tilted her head upwards and shouted.

The Yin Messenger narrowed his eyes and turned to Ye Yin, who was walking over, asking, "Are you sure she's a cultivator?"

"Mhm." Ye Yin nodded.

Seeing Ye Yin nod, the Yin Messenger looked back at Mu Anxiao, who was scanning around randomly, and said, "It seems this fellow's cultivation is very shallow."

"It is quite shallow, but," Ye Yin's eyes flickered, "her explosive power is exceptionally strong. Otherwise, those monsters wouldn't have been subdued by her."

"You have a point there," the Yin Messenger nodded.

Mu Anxiao looked around again and then tilted her head up to Ye Yin, asking, "Ye Yin, who are you talking to?"

Ye Yin glanced at Mu Anxiao and then turned to the Yin Messenger beside her.

Mu Anxiao followed Ye Yin's gaze to the empty space where nothing could be seen and asked, "Is he here?" She pointed at the Yin Messenger's face.

Ye Yin smiled mysteriously.

The Yin Messenger sighed softly, squatted down, and offered the pill to Mu Anxiao again, "Because you helped me catch monsters, I'll give you a spirit-connecting pill unique to our Underworld."

Mu Anxiao looked towards the Yin Messenger's invisible face as the voice spoke, "If I eat this, will I be able to see ghosts?"

"Yes."

"Then I won't eat it." Mu Anxiao pushed the pill floating before her with her palm.

"Why not?"

"The last time I ate half a white thing given to me by Shen Yan, I saw monsters. If I see real ghosts, will I even survive?" Mu Anxiao said, deliberately shifting her body backward.

"After taking this, you will not only be able to see ghosts but also touch them. For ordinary people," the Yin Messenger leaned in and deliberately brought the pill closer to Mu Anxiao, "I wouldn't give it."

"I don't want it," Mu Anxiao waved her hand vigorously.

"I don't usually give gifts. I'm giving you a gift, and you must accept it, otherwise I..." The Yin Messenger looked at Mu Anxiao's almost distorted face and threatened, "I'll let those monsters eat you."

"Eat me?" Mu Anxiao's eyes widened instantly.

"Will you eat it or not?" the Yin Messenger said deliberately in a eerie tone.

Half a year ago, she, Mu Anxiao, was still a mortal who didn't believe in ghosts or gods. The experiences and trials of the past six months had given Mu Anxiao a new understanding of everything in the world. Especially now, hearing the Yin Messenger's coercion, Mu Anxiao was scared.

"I'll eat it," she responded in one gulp, reached out, took the black pill, put it in her mouth, pursed her lips, and hummed, "Happy now."

"Don't speak," the Yin Messenger said coldly.

Mu Anxiao nodded, wanting to cry but not daring to, and closed her eyes.

Ye Yin looked at Mu Anxiao's pained expression and then at the smile on the Yin Messenger's face, thinking, 'It seems this girl... has also gotten involved with the Underworld. But, this seems to be all my fault, doesn't it?' She felt guilty.

"Ten... three... two... one," the Yin Messenger counted down and then snapped his fingers towards Mu Anxiao, "Alright, open your eyes."
