“Let’s try again,” Mu Anxiao said, rolling her eyes dramatically. “Fine, I get it.”
“You get it…”
“Do you go in first, or do I?” Mu Anxiao didn’t want to waste any more time with the bee.
Hearing Mu Anxiao relent, the bee’s face lit up with a smile. “Of course… I’ll go first.” With that, he stepped forward.
Mu Anxiao’s lips curled. Just as she was about to take a step, Rose materialized instantly in front of the bee, who was about to enter the courtyard gate. Upon seeing her, the bee immediately stopped in his tracks and offered Rose a foolish grin. Listening to the bee’s idiotic laughter, Mu Anxiao felt utterly speechless and looked down at the mud pit on the ground without a word.
Just then, taking advantage of Rose’s silence, the bee sidestepped and looked towards Mu Anxiao. “Hey, come here for a moment.”
At the sound, Mu Anxiao quickly looked up at the bee, who was inexplicably summoning her, and asked, “Master, I don’t think I should come over, should I?”
“You…”
“Who is he? Why does he call you master?” Rose was indeed curious about Mu Anxiao.
Mu Anxiao didn’t think Rose could recognize her, so she calmly looked at them, saying not a single word.
The bee, however, hadn’t expected Rose to be so proactive. His heart leaped as he introduced her, “This is a little demon I picked up on the road… oh, no, to be precise, I met on the road. She said she had nothing to do, so I brought her back.”
“Bringing her here means she’ll have things to do. What do you take me for?” Rose retorted unceremoniously.
Mu Anxiao, like an outsider, glanced at the bee’s subservient back and chuckled. This bee was truly pathetic in front of the one he liked… Thinking this, she clasped her hands behind her back and turned her face away.
The bee grinned foolishly. “I don’t take you for anything… I just think you have that kind of ability, and that kind of heart…”
“I have it for everyone, except for you,” Rose remained unyielding.
Hearing this, Mu Anxiao conceived a plan, deciding to sever Rose’s feelings for the wolf demon. She said, “He’s so good to you, how can you be like this?”
At her words, Rose’s gaze shifted directly to Mu Anxiao’s face. “You little demon, you’re quite fond of meddling.”
“I don’t like meddling,” Mu Anxiao denied outright, glancing at the bee’s frozen posture, and continued, “I just can’t stand it.”
“If you can’t stand it, don’t look,” Rose stated firmly.
Mu Anxiao snorted, “These eyes are on my face. You can’t stop me from looking wherever I want, you…”
“Wait a moment,” Rose suddenly said, her brows furrowed.
Seeing this, Mu Anxiao’s expression froze. ‘What is that look in her eyes?’ she thought, suddenly feeling nervous.
“You look so familiar,” Rose murmured, about to step forward.
At the same time, Mu Anxiao’s eyes flickered. “I think you look familiar too. Don’t come closer,” she said, taking a step back.
The bee, who normally couldn’t strike up a conversation with Rose, found his chance to talk to her snatched away by Mu Anxiao. Annoyed and helpless, he grabbed Rose, who was about to step towards Mu Anxiao, and said with a forced smile, “It seems you two have a connection.”
Hearing this, Rose cast an unfriendly gaze directly at the bee. “Bee, what do you mean?”
“What did I do? I’m just doing a good deed,” the bee met Rose’s eyes squarely.
Rose let out a soft snort. “This is your good deed? You bring an unknown nobody to provoke me, to show off your abilities. Oh, Bee, Bee, how did I not realize you were such a calculating fellow before?”
“How am I calculating?” the bee retorted.
Rose’s eyes sharpened. “I’m about to marry the wolf demon, and here you are, bringing a little demon to stir up trouble and seek revenge,” she said, narrowing her eyes. “You’re quite the man… a true gentleman.”
“You…” The wolf demon spoke only half the sentence when Mu Anxiao’s cry of “Ouch!” suddenly came from behind the bee. Hearing this, the bee, truly helpless, closed his mouth, turned to look at Mu Anxiao, who had collapsed into the mud behind him, and pouted, saying with increasing disdain, “Seriously, are you alright?” He showed no intention of moving.
Immediately afterward, Mu Anxiao very laboriously pulled herself up from the mud, then wiped her face vigorously with her mud-covered hands, saying, “I don’t know how… I fell in.” She turned around, her face unrecognizable, and faced Rose. “I understand now.”
The bee looked at her with disgust. “What do you understand now?”
“I understand,” Mu Anxiao said, pointing directly at Rose. “She must have done this.”
“Her…” The bee uttered the word and immediately reacted. “You can’t say things like that carelessly.”
“It was her. She deliberately harmed me. Master, you…”
“Get lost.” The bee could stand it no longer.
Upon hearing this, Mu Anxiao’s heart leaped, and she said, “Alright!” and turned to leave.
The bee clenched his fist in anger, then turned to look at Rose, who was still staring at Mu Anxiao’s retreating figure. “This kid just speaks without thinking. Don’t be angry,” he said, fearing Rose would take her anger out on him, and released his hand.
Unexpectedly, Rose smiled.
Following this, the bee was startled by Rose’s sudden smile. “Rose, are you okay?”
“I’m fine,” Rose said, turning her gaze back to the bee and smiling again. “I have a new understanding of you.”
“Wh-what do you mean?” The bee was bewildered.
Rose smiled faintly. “You’re quite foolish,” she said, turning around. “Come in with me.”
“Huh?” The bee, never having been invited by Rose before, exclaimed in surprise.
Rose tilted her head slightly. “What huh? Come in and have some flower tea.” With that, she stepped forward.
Seeing this, the bee couldn’t help but laugh. “Alright!” he said, forgetting all about Mu Anxiao and happily following Rose’s footsteps.
On the other side.
Mu Anxiao was thoroughly covered in dirt. “Rose is really clever. If I hadn’t disguised myself,” she looked down at the dirt on herself and shook her head in感慨, “I probably would have been discovered.” Speaking, she stopped beside a bush, casually plucked some leaves, and began wiping her hands.
Just then, Song Xi walked towards her. “What are you doing, little demon?”
Hearing this, Mu Anxiao looked at Song Xi with a calm expression and said with a simple smile, “Elder’s husband.”
“What happened to you?” Song Xi asked, stopping in front of Mu Anxiao.
Mu Anxiao smiled simply while throwing the leaves in her hand onto the ground. “Unlucky, I fell into the mud.”
“It is quite unlucky,” Song Xi said, scanning Mu Anxiao from head to toe. “Where are you planning to wash up?”
“I don’t know,” Mu Anxiao shook her head.
