Ye Kunlun chuckled and gestured to the seat opposite him. "Please, sit, Daoist. This meal is on me today."
Mu Mu Daoist didn't stand on ceremony and sat down. "Boss, get me a bowl of noodles like this young benefactor's."
"Coming right up."
"This is the second time we've met, and you've said I have a heavy killing intent. The first time you met me, you also said the same."
Ye Kunlun said indifferently, "Daoist, your way of complimenting people is rather peculiar. Perhaps you could divine another character for me?"
Mu Mu Daoist chuckled, regulating his breathing, and replied, "This humble one cannot divine the fate of the young benefactor."
"Why not?"
Ye Kunlun looked at Mu Mu Daoist before him. The man possessed a subtle, mysterious power that even Ye Kunlun could not fully fathom.
This feeling was something Ye Kunlun had only encountered in his twenty-third master.
Mu Mu Daoist replied, "If I were to tell you, it would be divulging heavenly secrets. Once heavenly secrets are revealed, the young benefactor might encounter trouble."
Ye Kunlun raised an eyebrow and replied with a smile, "Daoist, you are indeed a dull person. I am never afraid of trouble. Wouldn't life be too monotonous without it?"
"Never mind, if you won't divine, you won't. I'll treat you to noodles."
Ye Kunlun wasn't bothered.
When the noodles arrived, Mu Mu Daoist took a sip of the broth and asked, "May I know the reason for your visit to Kyoto, young benefactor?"
Ye Kunlun glanced at the three copper coins beside Mu Mu Daoist's hand and smiled, "How about I divine a hexagram for you, Daoist?"
"You can divine, young friend?" Mu Mu Daoist's chopsticks paused, and he looked at Ye Kunlun with surprise.
"I have a rudimentary understanding, though it's not very accurate. Please forgive my presumption, Daoist."
As he spoke, Ye Kunlun flicked his fingers. The three copper coins in front of Mu Mu Daoist lifted into the air and spun between them.
"What would you like to divine, Daoist?" Ye Kunlun asked.
Mu Mu Daoist's expression shifted slightly as he watched the three copper coins spinning in mid-air. He quickly asked, "Whom did the young benefactor learn this Void Divine Divination from?"
"Daoist, why don't you first tell me what you wish to divine?"
Ye Kunlun smiled at Mu Mu Daoist.
Mu Mu Daoist closed his eyes slightly and said, "Then I shall trouble the young benefactor to divine the whereabouts of the person in my heart. Are they still alive? If so, where are they?"
Upon hearing this, the three copper coins between them shifted according to a mysterious pattern, spinning so rapidly that a mist seemed to envelop them.
It was as if, with a gentle push of the misty veil, Mu Mu Daoist could ascertain the result he sought.
Mu Mu Daoist kept his eyes closed, seemingly unwilling to watch Ye Kunlun's divination.
As Ye Kunlun observed the hexagram, he couldn't help but frown. The mist appeared to be shielded by an immensely powerful force.
He attempted to dispel the fog, only to find his own power unable to shake it in the slightest.
However, he did manage to catch a familiar trace of energy from within the mist.
"Hmm?" Ye Kunlun was inwardly startled. That trace of familiarity originated from Kunlun Void, where he had resided for ten years.
Yet, the current Kunlun Void seemed to be shrouded by a grand formation, and he was unable to penetrate it!
"Strange!"
Ye Kunlun mused, "Could my masters be concealing something?"
With that thought, Ye Kunlun spoke to Mu Mu Daoist, "The person you seek is still alive, Daoist, and their location is Kunlun!"
Upon hearing this, Mu Mu Daoist's eyes snapped open, a dark mystic light flashing within them.
Clink, clink, clink!
As Mu Mu Daoist's eyes opened, the three copper coins in mid-air landed on the table.
"The young benefactor's Void Divine Divination has reached mastery. It's a pity..." Mu Mu Daoist's mystic gaze faded.
"A pity what?" Ye Kunlun asked.
"A pity that person is not in Kunlun," Mu Mu Daoist replied.
Ye Kunlun frowned. The people in Kunlun were all his masters. If Mu Mu Daoist was looking for one of his masters, he would have easily divined it.
However, the mist he encountered earlier made him hesitant to be absolutely certain of his divination.
"Does Daoist know where the person you seek is?"
Ye Kunlun asked.
Mu Mu Daoist nodded. "Not in this world."
"Not in this world?" Ye Kunlun's expression shifted. "What do you mean by that, Daoist?"
Mu Mu Daoist glanced at the bowl of beef noodles before him and sighed, "Alas, after eating your noodles, you and I have formed a karmic connection."
"This world is not as it appears," Mu Mu Daoist said softly. "To give a simple example, the Ten Great Secret Realms are not within this world. Do you understand now?"
"If Daoist puts it that way, I understand."
Ye Kunlun nodded.
"The Ten Great Secret Realms have their own independent rules; they can be considered separate worlds."
"The world we live in also has its own set of rules. To break these rules, one must transcend the shackles of heaven and earth!"
"The reason one can enter the Ten Great Secret Realms is that the rules have formed a key. As long as one complies with the rules, they can use the key to unlock the door."
Mu Mu Daoist's words gave Ye Kunlun a new understanding of the shackles of heaven and earth.
"Do you mean, Senior, that one can easily break the shackles of heaven and earth by finding the right key?"
Ye Kunlun asked.
Mu Mu Daoist nodded. "Precisely. Therefore, the person I asked you to find is not in this world. While Kunlun can form its own world, but..."
Rumble—
Suddenly, a clap of thunder split the clear sky.
Mu Mu Daoist's face turned pale.
Ye Kunlun's gaze sharpened. He saw a strand of dark energy coalescing on Mu Mu Daoist's forehead.
"Cough, cough..."
Mu Mu Daoist coughed twice, swallowing the rest of his words. "Alas, I've said too much. The karmic debt of this bowl of noodles has been settled."
"Thank you, Daoist."
Ye Kunlun expressed his gratitude and then smiled, "My karmic connection with Daoist may not be so easily settled."
As he spoke, Ye Kunlun flicked his finger, sending a streak of purple energy towards the dark wisp on Mu Mu Daoist's forehead.
In an instant, the strand of dark energy was dispersed by the purple energy.
"The young benefactor is indeed a person blessed by destiny," Mu Mu Daoist said as he stood up, his gaze towards Ye Kunlun filled with complexity.
"Thank you, young benefactor. Please be careful during your journey in Kyoto. We shall meet again if fate allows."
With that, Mu Mu Daoist walked out of the noodle shop.
"Be careful?" Ye Kunlun's lips curved into a smile.
Mu Mu Daoist's veiled words suggested that Ye Kunlun might face a bloody disaster in Kyoto, but he had not stated it explicitly.
"Boss, the bill!"
After settling the bill, Ye Kunlun left the noodle shop, but Mu Mu Daoist was nowhere to be seen.
He headed in the direction of Wujian Prison.
Twenty minutes later, Ye Kunlun saw a graceful figure standing at the entrance of Wujian Prison from afar.
Ye Kunlun's brow furrowed slightly. Nangong Yunshao seeking him out was somewhat unexpected.
He walked towards Nangong Yunshao.
Perhaps sensing his gaze from behind, or perhaps hearing his footsteps.
Nangong Yunshao turned around, and their eyes met!
