Chapter 517: Chapter 518: Su Changfeng Steps In
Shen Zhenhua did not speak, pretending it had nothing to do with him. But after Sun Mei heavily stepped on him, he realized he should say something at this moment.
"Qiulu, your mom’s words are actually quite right. If there’s any problem, just bring it up, and we can all come up with ideas together. You’re also hoping to remarry Chang Feng sooner, right? The sooner the problem is solved, the better, so you two can get remarried sooner," Shen Zhenhua said.
"That’s right, that’s right," Sun Mei quickly chimed in. "Only when you and Chang Feng remarry will there be fewer people circling around you. Your mom doesn’t particularly like Cheng Yuchen either, but I have no excuse or reason to get rid of him. Once you and Chang Feng remarry, that guy will definitely disappear on his own."
Tang Qiulu glanced at the time and realized she had to rush to the company. Hastily, she said, "Mom, I’m running late. I have to go to the company now."
With that, Tang Qiulu dashed out of the villa as if fleeing, leaving Sun Mei seething in anger, while Shen Zhenhua, sipping his porridge beside her, made some noises, prompting Sun Mei to erupt in fury and knock the bowl out of his hands.
"All you know is how to eat, useless thing, all you do is eat all day!" Sun Mei shouted angrily.
Shen Zhenhua was filled with helplessness; Tang Qiulu didn’t want to talk, and it had nothing to do with him. Yet, Sun Mei placed all the blame on him.
"Even if you know Chang Feng’s plans, it’s not going to help. Do you think you can assist him?" Shen Zhenhua asked doubtfully.
Sun Mei hadn’t disclosed her deal with Ye Qingcheng to Shen Zhenhua, nor would she mention it. Under the banner of doing good for their family, Sun Mei placed herself on the moral high ground, acting only on what she deemed correct, indifferent to whether others supported her or not.
Meanwhile, Su Changfeng had already boarded the plane heading to Beijing.
In the economy class, Su Changfeng seemed unremarkable, barely catching anyone’s attention.
Shortly after boarding, a woman with a little girl was having some trouble due to the child’s fear, causing some disturbance. Most people understood the situation, but a group of yellow-haired foreigners were cursing nearby. Many did not understand what they were saying, but Su Changfeng heard it clearly.
Initially, Su Changfeng aimed to ignore it, but during the flight, the foreigners approached the woman with the child.
A tall foreigner spoke in particularly stiff Chinese: "If you keep fussing, do you believe I’ll throw you out right now!"
This was directed at the little girl and was a blatant scare tactic.
Unfortunately, the girl believed it and cried even more fiercely. The woman repeatedly apologized: "I’m deeply sorry, it’s my daughter’s first time flying, so she’s a bit scared. If we’re disturbing you, I sincerely apologize."
"No worries, no worries, the child is young and it’s her first time on a plane. It’s normal for her to be a bit restless, let her adjust, it will be fine."
"Comfort your child, it won’t take long and won’t bother us."
"Yeah, it doesn’t matter."
The other passengers were very understanding, which made her especially grateful.
However, the foreigners were not willing to let it go.
"You must compensate us, this should be a very quiet process, but because of your child, we couldn’t rest," the tall foreigner continued.
After this man spoke, some people voiced displeasure, thinking it unnecessary to demand compensation for such a small issue.
"You folks might not find it noisy, but we can’t bear it. Unless someone is willing to upgrade us to first class, then we could overlook it. If you don’t have money, then just keep quiet," the foreigner said.
Many who spoke up earlier were silent now; advocating for the mother and daughter was one thing, but taking out money was something nobody wanted to do.
The foreigners insisted on this issue, finally drawing the attention of the flight attendants.
Su Changfeng had been watching silently, and when the flight attendant arrived, he suddenly realized that the foreigners were aiming for a free upgrade. That’s why they kept bringing up the issue.
The little girl’s crying incidentally gave them a reason to act this way.
"Deepest apologies, the first-class cabin is almost fully occupied now. I’m terribly sorry, I hope you can understand. Once we reach Beijing, we’ll definitely offer some compensation," the stewardess attempted to placate these foreigners with a calm approach.
"Is this how your airline handles things? I hope this matter can be resolved immediately," the foreigner nearly ordered the stewardess.
The stewardess felt troubled; if the first class cabin weren’t so full, she could make the decision herself, but now that the plane had just taken off, she couldn’t ask anyone to leave.
At that moment, Su Changfeng stood up coldly and said to the stewardess: "What’s hard to solve here? Let this mother and daughter go to sit in first class; this way, there won’t be any disturbances for these people."
Hearing these words, the stewardess instantly looked at Su Changfeng with gratitude, while simultaneously, those foreigners glared at him with hatred, because he disrupted their plan to seek benefits.
"Young man, this doesn’t concern you. I advise you not to interfere," the tallest foreigner threatened as he approached Su Changfeng.
Su Changfeng, though tall himself, was still a head shorter than this foreigner, and the foreigner’s muscles made Su Changfeng seem particularly frail.
"If you want to sit in first class, it’s not impossible. You can beg me on your knees, and I’ll pay for your upgrade. But if you intend to use this little girl as an excuse, I won’t ignore that," Su Changfeng said indifferently.
"Begging me on your knees" sounded like a thunderclap, shocking them. Staring at Su Changfeng with faces of terror, none had expected him to utter such words.
Many admired Su Changfeng’s courage from the bottom of their hearts, while some thought he was being reckless, considering the foreigners’ intimidating size, thinking he couldn’t win. What good was bravado now?
"Young man, don’t act on impulse. There’s no need to engage with such people."
"That’s right, don’t let yourself suffer."
"Your good intentions are understandable, but look at those foreigners, they don’t seem like decent people."
