"My Rise to Power in the Villain Annihilation World" premiered.
The lights gradually dimmed, and then everyone saw a divine tower of extreme magnificence. Above the tower, the Main God, who controlled countless small worlds, sent a young girl into a world of villains to save the heroine and defeat the scumbag.
The plot was surprisingly easy to understand.
Yet, it was incredibly captivating.
It held everyone’s gaze, from the very first small world – every moment was heart-stopping.
The desert was vast and sandy. A young girl in a red dress fled her wedding, only to encounter a man who seemed like a god, capable of controlling life and death.
Exquisite.
Amidst the sand, she was breathtakingly beautiful, unbelievably so.
Even a slight furrow of her brow evoked pity.
She saved him.
He claimed to be a mere traveler passing through, waylaid by bandits. He healed in her tribe and left once his wounds were mended.
If there were truly world-ending beauties in the world, they must have looked like her.
They fell in love.
She fell for this intelligent, pitiable man.
But she couldn't wait for his return.
For the sake of her tribe, she had to marry elsewhere.
She was supposed to be the betrothed of the tyrant’s deceased brother, the former Crown Prince of the Jin Dynasty.
But when she arrived at the Jin Dynasty, she discovered that the man she met in the desert.
Had become the King of Jin.
And was her fiancé.
She had saved him.
But he didn't remember.
When he ascended the throne, there had been a turbulent and brutal struggle.
He had killed his own brother, the former Crown Prince, but was shot in the head by a subordinate loyal to his elder brother, leading to his amnesia. His entire demeanor changed, becoming extremely tyrannical.
And extremely suspicious!
The once wise and intelligent youth.
Had transformed into a cold, merciless, and utterly cruel ruler.
He was severely paranoid.
He suspected everyone – he easily tormented the servants who should have attended to him. In the eyes of others, he became a cruel beast, a terrifyingly tyrannical prince with no emotions.
His palace was perpetually shrouded in darkness.
He was the master of all.
But everyone hated her.
He didn't remember her.
He deliberately hurt her.
Because she had once been his brother's fiancée, he suspected she was there to avenge his brother. He forced himself upon her, tormenting her to an unimaginable degree.
Then, making her pregnant with his child, she was sent to another tribe, ultimately meeting a tragic end.
Ye Ling was meant to counter-attack.
This was such an extremely cruel and cold-blooded monarch. And in the original host’s world, he never once remembered that the original host had saved him.
Ye Ling let out a cold laugh.
What use was such a scumbag?
It was better to have him utterly destroyed!
…
At the premiere ceremony, the invited reporters and audience were engrossed. The movie’s female lead, Ye Ling, was simply too cool and too dashing.
On her, one could not find any impulsive emotions.
She was always calm, always able to analyze right from wrong, always able to deal with scumbags decisively, and make the most satisfying, exhilarating moves.
As she walked into the palace clad in red, the tyrant looked at her, his sharp and piercing eyes coldly disdainful.
He walked over, approaching her.
Then he reached out, gripping her chin tightly.
His words were laced with threat.
"Kneel before me! How dare a servant look at me with such eyes? Do you believe I won't gouge your eyes out sooner or later!"
His tone was so brutal.
Hearing his enraged, indignant tone, Ye Ling slowly raised her head. A flicker of bright light appeared in her eyes. Ye Ling’s features were full of spirit.
Her exquisitely beautiful face, however, held no trace of fear; instead, it was incredibly defiant.
You are a brutal, cruel tyrant.
I am even more unfeeling, more cold than you!
"If you kill me. Then the northern tribes will rebel. I know Your Majesty doesn't care about the lives of our northern tribal warriors, but our people are the most passionate, their blood boils hot, and they absolutely will not stand by as I, newly sent for a diplomatic marriage, am brutally killed in the Jin Dynasty."
"I fear they will immediately attack the northern defense line. Your Majesty obtained this throne relying on the support of the northern armies. If the core troops suffer heavy casualties, can Your Majesty truly turn a blind eye?"
The man's expression turned sullen.
His eyes were fixed intently on Ye Ling's face.
And Ye Ling's lips curved into a cold, clear smile.
"Does Your Majesty find what I said reasonable?"
"Furthermore."
She paused, then continued.
"I was sent to forge peace between the two nations. Nominally, I am Your Majesty's woman."
"But my heart already belongs to someone else, so if Your Majesty forces me, in order to preserve myself for the one I love, I will immediately bite my tongue and commit suicide!"
Ye Ling spoke with ease.
The tyrant opposite her stared at her in disbelief.
He had expected to see a weeping, delicate woman, or perhaps a flirtatious woman who would immediately cling to him, aspiring to become Empress.
Unexpectedly.
She appeared to look down on him?
What was wrong with him?
He was dignified and imposing.
He possessed the rich lands of Jin, wasn't that tens of thousands of times better than their harsh, cold homeland?
"The one you love?"
He sneered, a hint of killing intent in his eyes.
"My short-lived brother? Your former fiancé? Unfortunately, he is already dead, cut down by a thousand blades. He has long since turned to mere pulp, completely annihilated by me!"
This tyrant was not just a little bit ruthless.
Hearing him say this, Ye Ling sighed in her heart.
But she still looked up, meeting his gaze squarely, not a flicker of fear in her eyes.
"It is not him."
"The one I love is just an ordinary person I saved on the grasslands. I have already pledged my heart to him there. He roams the world, making the earth his home. Even I don't know where he is now, but I promised him that I would wait five years. After five years, he is to return to the grasslands to find me."
"And I promised you that I could stay in Jin for five years. After five years, you will let me return to the grasslands, agreed?"
Ye Ling looked at him with certainty.
The man opposite her watched her coldly.
"If you have someone you love, why come for a diplomatic marriage?"
Ye Ling said.
"The Jin Dynasty is powerful, and I was forced. I am telling you the truth. If you want to kill me, feel free. But if you want to force me to betray the one I love, that is absolutely impossible."
"We children of the grasslands dare to love and dare to hate, and we never speak a false word."
"Love is love, dislike is dislike."
"There is no concept of lying or ambiguous maneuvering for profit."
Her attitude was straightforward.
I'm laying my cards on the table.
What you think is.
Your business.
But with her clearly stating her stance, the tyrant opposite her softened his expression. He walked up to her, firmly gripped her chin, forcing her to meet his gaze, and sneered.
"The one you love?"
His smile was chilling.
"I will make you fall in love with me."
"In this world, there is nothing I cannot obtain. The empire is mine, and I do not believe you will not be moved."
Men possess a strong desire for conquest. And this damned woman before him had ignited his desire to conquer her!
…
The plot began to change. If it were the original pitiful princess of diplomatic marriage, Ye Ling, she would have been relegated to the cold palace, bullied, and used by the tyrant as a tool for his venting.
But after becoming Ye Ling, the mission executor, although she was sent to the cold palace, she wasn't flustered at all.
An attending eunuch tried to bully her.
He was directly sent flying by her.
She was quite leisurely, organizing palace maids for square dancing.
She engaged in beauty tips with other consorts.
Thriving in the harem.
The tyrant disappeared for several days – and when he reappeared, it was on a stormy, thunderous night! He appeared before Ye Ling and, coldly staring into her eyes, sneered and fiercely threw something at her.
"You are in contact with the former Crown Prince's remaining loyalists outside the palace—"
"Well done, a candid daughter of the grasslands!"
"You clearly intended to collude and assassinate me."
"What, getting friendly with my palace attendants was also for this purpose? Do you really think I wouldn't dare to touch you? What if you die, what does it matter if a woman who wants to kill me is executed!"
"Even if the north rebels, with my hundred thousand cavalry, why would I be afraid to suppress them!"
The King's fury.
Could cause ten thousand corpses to fall.
Those around them began to tremble.
And started to beg for mercy.
But within Ye Ling's stunning eyes, there wasn't even a shred of panic. Ye Ling calmly gazed at the face of the enraged monarch before her.
He reached out and fiercely grasped her neck. With just a twist, the maiden's neck would likely snap instantly.
But she still looked at him calmly.
"Is it really me?"
"The court is turbulent, with the former Crown Prince's faction, the Southern Prince's faction, remnants of the former dynasty, and besides the northern tribes, there are powerful enemies in the south."
"There are countless people who want to kill you, why must it be me?"
"If I wanted to kill you, wouldn't it be better to feign affection?"
The man opposite her remained furious.
"You think I would look upon you with favor. Let me tell you, in this life, I will never fall in love with any woman. You, a barbarian woman sent for diplomatic marriage, are not worthy of being my Empress!"
Ye Ling smiled.
She looked at his face.
He was clearly handsome like a deity, but when enraged, he was as furious as a demon; he was a combination of a devil and a god.
She sighed.
"You are also not worthy of her love."
The tyrant opposite her frowned, not understanding the meaning of Ye Ling's words.
And Ye Ling said.
"How about we have a competition. If I win, you are not allowed to bother me again."
"If you win, I will lie on the bed and let you—"
She looked at the man opposite her.
"Do anything."
"Even if you want to kill me, I will not resist. I will write a letter to my people in the north, telling them not to raise troops, that it was all my fault."
"But I bet you cannot win against me."
The man opposite her sneered.
"I have fought battles across the empire, there is no one in this world I cannot defeat!"
Especially not a woman.
But her eyes shone as brightly as the morning star in the night sky.
"Then let's compete in horse riding and combat."
"I brought my russet horse. Whoever has better horsemanship and a faster horse, whoever strikes the wooden stake at the finish line first, wins."
She looked at him, her eyes full of provocation.
The man opposite her took a deep breath, his gaze fixed coldly on her.
"Good! The bet will be as you say!"
