Chapter 315 - 315 315 The Shining Girl

Chapter 315: Chapter 315 The Shining Girl Chapter 315: Chapter 315 The Shining Girl Xuexue’s attitude toward him was starkly different from Mo Xiuzhi’s, so generous, giving him so many precious things. Mo Shaoxing felt extraordinarily excited, it seemed Xuexue was still special to him.

“Very good, very good! I thank you on behalf of my father, Little Sister Xuexue. Be careful when you go up the mountain. In recent years, there have been many incidents of pythons eating people all around the neighborhood.”

“Thank you for your concern.” Xuexue responded indifferently.

Mo Shaoxing smiled happily, his eyes sparkling as he watched Xuexue, who seemed to have become even more beautiful in just a short period.

Xiuzhi was extremely jealous. Brother Xing had never cared for her like that before. Seeing this little cheap person, Xuexue, even his gaze changed.

“Brother Xing, let’s go.” Undeterred by the state of her clothes, Xiuzhi, holding two large chunks of snake meat, started dragging Mo Shaoxing out without care for the snake blood covering her clothes.

“Xiuzhi, you often claim to be a lady, but stealing from others isn’t what a lady does.” Xuexue’s voice was icy cold.

“What do you mean stealing! This is what you offered to your grandparents, I am just helping you take it back. You’re not even thanking me, and yet you accuse me of stealing. Are you sick?” Xiuzhi snapped back and stormed off with Mo Shaoxing without waiting.

Mo Shaoxing still looked back reluctantly, “Little Sister Xuexue, be careful on the mountain.”

“Oh my! Brother Xing, Xuexue has Big Bull to worry about her, she doesn’t need you!” Xiuzhi’s taunting voice faded into the distance.

A few cooking women watched angrily, “What kind of people are these, snatching others’ belongings so brazenly and even daring to insult others?”

“Ah, let it be, the second branch of the Mo family has always been aggressive. Madam Ruan, relying on having given birth to a son, is used to throwing her weight around in the Mo family. Naturally, her daughter has taken after her.”

The women chattered among themselves, all trying to comfort Xuexue not to be too upset.

Xuexue was not upset about such people; she only regretted the loss of some pieces of snake meat.

Li Family

That night, Xuexue cooked a pot of rabbit meat, and everyone enjoyed a greasy feast.

“Big Bull Brother, you and sister were so impressive hunting on the mountain today. You caught so many animals, and everyone in the village is envious of our family.”

Chuner, feeling proud while eating, talked about how all the kids in the village now liked playing with her, no longer isolating her like before. Still, she preferred playing with doggy; after all, adversity reveals true friends, and she felt doggy was a trustworthy friend.

“It’s just spring now, there are naturally many animals on the mountain,” Big Bull modestly said with a smile.

“Not at all, how many people from our village go to the mountain and can’t even catch a wild chicken, let alone five waterfowl, a big python, and rabbits, so many animals.” Chuner pouted in protest; Big Bull Brother was great, indeed the protector of their family.

Madam Xie was also particularly pleased that Xuexue had returned safely from the mountain with so many animals.

“Xuexue, we have so much snake meat left that we can’t finish it all, and with the weather getting warmer, it won’t keep long. Should we sell it at the market?” Madam Xie asked while eating.

“That’s a good idea, tomorrow I’ll go to the market with Big Bull. It’s been a long while since we last went, and we can buy some rice and flour; otherwise, the builders working on the house will run out of food.”

Upon hearing this, Chuner immediately stopped eating and looked at Xuexue, “Sister, I also want to go to the market. Can I?”

“Chuner wants to go to the market?”

“Yes!” Chuner nodded and then added, “doggy wants to go too. Can we take him with us?”

Recalling the last scary experience at the market, Xuexue hesitated, “Taking doggy would mean asking his parents; otherwise, I wouldn’t dare to take him.”

Chuner happily smiled at this response, “Alright, later I’ll go tell doggy to speak to his parents.”
