Chapter 522: Chapter 397: The Show Begins, Part 2
What’s there to be glad about? Whenever anything good comes up, he’s the first person the sisters think of.
Even the auntie in charge of serving meals breaks into a brighter smile when she sees him.
Zhou Yun watches and can’t help but roll her eyes.
It’s all just for show.
The first few scenes we shot were big, with lots of people involved.
Especially the scene where over a dozen people sit around a table eating, Zhou Yun never expected it to take three days to shoot.
Three days for the same scene, and the food on the table had been changed out over a dozen times.
Xue Qin truly embodied the spirit of "good things come to those who wait"; she wasn’t in a rush and took her time with the shooting.
There were more than a dozen of us, all professional actors.
Zhou Yun got to know a dozen of them in one go, exchanging WeChat contacts and making small talk.
While waiting for her turn, she’d chat with one, crack a smile with another.
What they talked about the most was the currently airing "Heart Inquiry".
Because many of the older generation actors are in this drama, playing the elders of the Wan Family.
They’re all people who’ve struggled in the film and TV industry for many years; while they might not be famous, each has their own skill.
In chatting with them, Zhou Yun heard lots of old stories from the past.
If Zhou Yun assimilated like a fish to water amongst this large group of actors, then Luo Zhiheng could be said to have not fit in at all.
When acting, he was the junior frequently lectured by his elders, a rebellious kid.
Off the set, as soon as he was done, he’d be off by himself in a corner, playing with his phone or listening to music with earphones.
He looked quite unsociable.
Zhou Yun: "..."
Suddenly, she didn’t care as much about Luo Zhiheng’s earlier attitude.
Because he was like that with everyone anyway.
On the third day of shooting this table scene, an actress, Zeng Lili, who was playing an auntie from far away, asked Zhou Yun, "Do you know that kid? Why is he always sitting alone, not talking to any of us?"
Zhou Yun shook her head and said, "He was like that before, I haven’t spoken much to him either."
Zeng Lili laughed and said, "He reminds me of my son, about the same age, and such a headache, always thinking about dating, not focusing on his studies, makes my liver hurt from frustration."
Zhou Yun smiled and said, "You’re so beautiful, your son must be handsome, girls definitely like him."
Zeng Lili asked, "Did you date when you were in school?"
"Me? I didn’t." Zhou Yun shook her head, "I never seriously dated, but it’s inevitable to have crushes when you’re in school."
Zeng Lili, as if reminiscing about her own youth, smiled tenderly, "True."
"I should have my son learn from you in the future, being able to get into A University as a top student, that’s incredible," said Zeng Lili, "That’s why studying is important, it’s good to read more books, you look different from others, how is it put... ’knowledge makes one elegant.’"
"Whoa, Sister Lili, don’t praise me like that, I’m not all that, and I studied science, not liberal arts, I don’t really like reading those romantic stories, my favorite are mystery novels," said Zhou Yun.
Zeng Lili exclaimed joyfully, "You love mystery novels? Me too."
"Really?"
"Really! I didn’t use to, but then I acted in a stage play adapted from an Agatha Christie novel, and I fell in love with this genre, it’s so interesting," Zeng Lili said, "I just finished reading one by a Japanese author last week, called ’Holy Mother,’ not sure if you’ve read it, but the twist at the end shocked me, I immediately started reading it a second time."
"I haven’t read that one, bought it, but the package is still at home unopened," Zhou Yun laughed.
The two of them were chatting happily when suddenly, a loud clang of something heavy falling to the ground was heard, followed by a scream.
"What happened?" Zhou Yun and Zeng Lili both stood up to look.
A bunch of people were running in one direction.
Zhou Yun and Zeng Lili stood still, not to add to the chaos over there.
"There’s been an accident, Luo Zhiheng was hit by a falling light rig!" came the news from the front.
Zhou Yun and everyone else were startled.
"Call an ambulance!" someone from the front shouted.
The scene was chaos.
"Luo Zhiheng, Luo Zhiheng, can you hear me talking?" the assistant director’s gruff voice rose.
Zhou Yun could no longer contain herself and ran toward the scene of the incident.
"Is the ambulance called? How long until it arrives?"
Zhou Yun heard someone asking.
In the crowd, Luo Zhiheng was lying on the ground, half his face covered in blood, which obscured half of his usually handsome and defiant face.
