Chapter 403: Chapter 322: Twists and Turns (Part 3)
Just as she was hesitating, the woman beside Yu Zhiyang saw her and walked over excitedly, saying, "Zhou Yun?"
"Hello," Zhou Yun said.
"Hello, I am Zhang Linlin, Yu Zhiyang’s agent," the somewhat chubby woman said. "Thank you for taking care of Little Yu."
Zhou Yun shook her head and said, "It’s nothing."
But Zhang Linlin was very happy. She turned to summon Yu Zhiyang with a wave and said, "Little Yu, come say hello to Zhou Yun."
Only then did Yu Zhiyang slowly walk over.
He nodded to Zhou Yun and greeted, "Sister Xiao Yun."
Yu Zhiyang seemed morose. After saying those three words, he had nothing else to say.
Zhou Yun saw that his eyes were evasive, seemingly not too keen on seeing her here.
"Then I’ll be going first," Zhou Yun said.
With a reluctant look on her face, Zhang Linlin said, "Miss Zhou, if there are good opportunities, please consider Little Yu more. He’s a hardworking kid."
Zhou Yun glanced at Yu Zhiyang.
His face bore a hint of embarrassment, his lips tightly pressed.
She had no idea what he was thinking.
Zhou Yun sighed inwardly and responded to Zhang Linlin, "Alright."
Cao Jun was waiting for her in the car.
After getting into the car, Zhou Yun sighed subconsciously.
Cao Jun asked, "Didn’t it go well?"
Zhou Yun nodded and said, "It didn’t go well."
On the way back, Zhou Yun felt a sense of unease inside.
She found the situation to be trickier than she had first thought; she had thought it was tricky enough already. Xu Guiying had openly and directly acknowledged her selfishness without any attempt to disguise or hide it, leaving Zhou Yun at a loss for where to begin addressing it. To be honest, Zhou Yun felt that she had spoken too much. She shouldn’t have said so much; what could it achieve other than antagonizing Xu Guiying? It was merely a momentary slip of the tongue.
...
However, what Zhou Yun did not expect was that later that evening, Zhou Lan called her incredulously, asking, "Xiao Yun, what did you say to Xu Guiying? She actually agreed to let Yu Zhiyang do the film!"
"What?" Zhou Yun asked in surprise, "Xu Guiying agreed?"
"You didn’t know?" Zhou Lan said, "I thought you knew. Just now Yu Zhiyang’s agent called me to ask if he could still participate in the next round of auditions."
Zhou Yun felt somewhat at a loss, happy yet puzzled.
Could it be that what she said to Xu Guiying had had an effect?
However, Zhou Yun doubted that was the case.
She and Xu Guiying were practically at each other’s throats. The atmosphere was anything but cordial; it was a head-on clash.
So why would Xu Guiying change her mind?
That morning, Xu Guiying had been so adamant.
Zhou Yun couldn’t figure out why, but Yu Zhiyang being able to continue the auditions was a good thing.
Zhou Yun said, "Then let’s quickly decide and arrange the third round of auditions. If there are no issues, we’ll sign a contract with Yu Zhiyang."
She was worried that Xu Guiying might change her mind.
Zhou Lan replied, "Okay, I’ll start arranging things right away."
After hanging up, Zhou Yun still felt it was somewhat unbelievable.
A light at the end of the tunnel.
Zhou Lan was very efficient, and the third round of auditions was quickly arranged for two days later.
Only three people made it to the third round.
Yu Zhiyang, Lao Boyi, Zhou Jianfeng.
Zhou Yun had already shared her preference with Zheng Xiaowen; she wanted to choose Yu Zhiyang.
However, Zheng Xiaowen had a different opinion, saying, "Xiao Yun, I think Zhou Jianfeng’s looks are more suitable for a fashion drama, what do you think?"
"I don’t like him," Zhou Yun said, "At least, Zhou Jianfeng is not the type I favor."
Zheng Xiaowen sighed and said, "He Yong called me yesterday as well, he really hopes that Zhou Jianfeng can play the lead male role. After all, he is one of the producers of this film with Chengqian Productions."
Zhou Yun said, "I already have my choice."
Zheng Xiaowen didn’t expect Zhou Yun to be so adamant.
When the day of the audition came, the three candidates each performed a scene, commonly known as a screen test.
The screen test scene was personally written by Zheng Xiaowen.
After the three finished their performances, from an acting standpoint, Lao Boyi was the best with a well-measured performance.
However, based on personal preference, Zhou Yun still favored Yu Zhiyang. She wondered if it was because of everything that had happened; she could no longer view the situation objectively. But she felt that filmmaking itself is a matter heavily influenced by personal aesthetic taste. Since this person would be her love interest in the movie, she wanted to pick someone she liked the most; the resulting chemistry would probably be the best.
