A teacher was added to Langya Academy, a mortal teacher.
The entire faculty and students of Langya Academy, except for a select few, were resentful in their hearts, believing that a mortal teacher had directly lowered the academy's standards.
Many were filled with trepidation, having witnessed the fates of Zhuang Changming and Cui Pei, and fearing they might be the next victims.
Some teachers, however, remained indifferent. As teachers, they were subject to regular assessments and evaluations. Someone like Ji Mo, who possessed no discernible skills, would inevitably be expelled if he failed to pass.
This was an unshakeable rule of the academy, unalterable even by Song Zhenwei. Ji Mo was destined for a humiliating expulsion.
After dealing with Zhuang Changming and Cui Pei, Ji Mo’s notorious reputation spread. Students feared him, and teachers disdained him. Consequently, all planned welcome activities for the new teacher were canceled.
Thus, Ji Mo became the least respected and most unpopular teacher at Langya Academy.
Ji Mo, however, paid no mind to any of this, as he never cared for superficial matters.
The academy assigned Ji Mo a teaching residence in the most secluded South District, a standalone courtyard. It was euphemistically called special preferential treatment.
But those in the know understood that this was the place with the most impoverished spiritual energy in the entire academy, a place even the menial laborers were unwilling to inhabit. This was clearly a deliberate move against Ji Mo.
“This is outrageous! They’ve assigned Mr. to such a run-down place. We must go and argue with the administration.”
Lin Mengmeng, Xuanyang, and Wang Wanjian were all furious upon seeing the condition of the courtyard.
As teachers of the academy, they should have been assigned residences in areas rich with spiritual energy. Being assigned here was truly excessive.
“I think this place is quite good. It’s serene and quiet.”
Ji Mo didn’t seem to mind. The abundance of spiritual energy had no impact on him, and he preferred quietude by nature.
“Mr. Ji, I will surely vindicate you. You are the best teacher in the world and should not be treated with such disrespect.”
Lin Mengmeng’s gaze was firm, and she felt indignant on Ji Mo’s behalf.
“Mr., it is student’s fault for being incompetent and unknown. I will certainly dedicate myself to studying the art of the saber and make a name for myself, so that the world will know of Mr.’s great reputation.”
Wang Wanjian clenched his fists, making a silent resolution.
Xuanyang also intended to utter some grand pronouncements, but considering his own aptitude, he changed his mind and said, “I will focus on wooing girls and not shame Mr. …”
Before he could finish, he felt the disdainful gazes of Lin Mengmeng and Wang Wanjian, trembled, and dared not speak carelessly again.
It wasn’t that he lacked ambition, but he truly had no other choice. He lacked Lin Mengmeng’s formidable physique and Wang Wanjian’s talent for the saber. He was good at nothing.
“I never care about fame, nor do I need you to earn it for me. As long as you can achieve success, I will be content.”
Ji Mo spoke sincerely.
Initially, his infiltration of Langya Academy was solely to search for the Dragon Cave.
Now that he had acquired three excellent students, his intentions had shifted. As a teacher, it was natural to endeavor to educate his students to achieve success.
The three students were deeply moved by his words.
Most teachers in the academy taught students with the aim of enhancing their own fame, vying for students with good aptitude.
Only Ji Mo, who did not consider talent or family background, and did not look down on their poor aptitude, possessed such noble character!
“I am not a qualified teacher and cannot guide your cultivation, but I am knowledgeable in other skills. Is there anything you wish to learn?”
Ji Mo asked softly.
Wang Wanjian spoke first, saying with remorse, “Student is dull-witted. I have only grasped a few superficial insights from the true meaning of the saber art Mr. taught last time. I still need to immerse myself in it and continue to comprehend.”
Ji Mo’s expression stiffened slightly. When they were in the Tongtian Mountain Range, he had merely spoken casually. He hadn’t expected Wang Wanjian to take it seriously, let alone comprehend such astonishing saber techniques.
This fellow was a prodigy; it was best to let him comprehend it himself.
“Indeed, perseverance and hard work. Your name truly suits you, steady and resolute!”
Ji Mo praised him sincerely, then turned his gaze to Lin Mengmeng.
“After Mr.’s massage last time, my bone structure and physique have been continuously strengthening. I need to properly regulate my body during this period and do not need to learn anything else for now.”
Lin Mengmeng explained her current situation.
In fact, her special physique was still undergoing a transformation, her body growing stronger each day. Therefore, the most important task at present was to temper her body and develop its potential.
“A healthy body is the foundation of cultivation. I will brew some medicinal herbs for you in a few days to help you recuperate.”
Ji Mo looked at Lin Mengmeng with great satisfaction.
As a physician, he could sense that Lin Mengmeng’s blood and qi were strengthening daily. Her physical condition was the best among the three.
“Mr., I want to…”
Xuanyang spoke eagerly.
He had caught wind of something from Wang Wanjian and Lin Mengmeng’s words.
Wang Wanjian’s saber techniques were actually guided by Ji Mo, and Lin Mengmeng’s physical transformation was also related to Ji Mo. This indicated that Ji Mo was by no means an ordinary person, but a true master!
He also wanted to change his physique and then learn those supreme saber techniques.
“You should just focus on how to woo girls. The path of wooing girls is long and arduous. You must be persistent and never give up lightly.”
Ji Mo directly interrupted Xuanyang, as he couldn’t think of anything to teach the young man at the moment.
This fellow clearly wasn’t the type to study diligently. It was better to let him recover from the blow of heartbreak first.
Xuanyang’s face fell. Previously, he spoke of learning to woo girls because he had no hope for cultivation. Now that he knew Ji Mo possessed heavenly abilities, he naturally wanted to turn over a new leaf and learn cultivation from Ji Mo.
However, Ji Mo simply wouldn’t give him the chance.
Ji Mo sighed, “Alas, it is a matter of shame, but I cannot help you much. There is a scripture that might be of some help to your cultivation. I shall impart it to you now.”
“Student is willing to listen to Mr.’s teachings!”
Lin Mengmeng and the other two said with utmost reverence.
“The Tao that can be told is not the eternal Tao. The name that can be named is not the eternal name. The nameless is the beginning of heaven and earth; the named is the mother of ten thousand things. Thus, always without desire, one can see the mystery. Always with desire, one sees the manifestations. The mystery and the manifestations, though different in name, are the same in their essence. The essence of both is the same. This sameness is called the profound. Profound and more profound, the gate to all wonders…”
Ji Mo immediately began reciting the Daodejing.
This scripture was a sacred text of Taoism and should be beneficial to cultivators.
As Ji Mo’s voice echoed, an unseen connection was forged between heaven and earth.
In the sky above, auspicious clouds churned, and golden rays filled the horizon.
Such celestial phenomena caused a stir throughout the world!
Lin Mengmeng and the other two felt a roaring in their minds and immediately sat cross-legged on the spot, listening intently to Ji Mo’s voice.
They knew they were about to receive an unimaginably great fortune.
In the sky, brilliant rays of light illuminated the firmament, auspicious clouds gathered, and the runes of the Great Dao danced, transforming into flowers of the Great Dao. They then pierced through the void and descended upon a certain place in the world.
“Heavenly flowers falling like rain! Who is this profound master lecturing the Dao that it elicits such a response from the Great Dao?”
Countless cultivators were filled with shock and found it inconceivable. There should not be a master of this caliber in the Xuanling Realm.
To resonate with the Dao was a technique possessed only by True Immortals in the Immortal Spirit Realm.
