Chapter 420: Ch-420: Second Trial (3)

"Heavenly Sword Art — Second Form: World Slicing Strike," Wang Ming said with a cold glint in his eyes as he poured every ounce of spiritual energy into the attack and hurled a golden arc toward a single giant, focusing on one target instead of a wide area for maximum damage. This time, the golden arc was much thicker, brimming with power and deadly intent.

BOOM!

An even larger explosion erupted, and the target lost a huge chunk of its body—but it still moved toward Wang Ming, as they were already dead.

"Hmm, still not enough," Wang Ming thought with a frown on his face. He wasn’t happy with the outcome; he had expected at least half the body to be destroyed so he could finish it in two strikes. But it seemed it would take more. He quickly swallowed a recovery pill and a healing pill, restoring his depleted spiritual energy.

BOOM!

He unleashed another strike, intending to finish the injured giant with another blos, but to his surprise a corrupted Ancient suddenly appeared in front of the attack and blocked hthe attack path. Its hand was cleaved off, but under the regeneration effect it quickly healed.

[Time Remaining: 20 min]

Wang Ming was about to launch another technique, but would they just sit back and let him attack? Even as corpses, they still had retained their instincts to danger. One leaped toward him and hurled a fist at his head, which he barely dodged to avoid getting seriously injured.

Bang!

The ground shook from the punch, and a small crater formed where the blow landed.

Bang! Bang!

Soon, over a dozen Ancient Giants, including the corrupted ones, joined the fray. They struck at him with swords, fists, and shields, forcing him to use Heavenly Sword Art — First Form: Flickering Strikes to constantly dodge and deflect their blows. His frown deepened as each second passed.

’Glad those things aren’t moving,’ he thought, sneaking a glance at the pitch black titans. Their golden eyes bored into him with indifference as if looking at an insect, and their eerie smiles had vanished.

’I need to restrict their movements,’ Wang Ming realized as a technique flashed in his mind.

’Hmm, let’s try this then, Asura’s Gaze’ Wang thought as he looked at the giants.

He decided this was the only way to immobilize them. He used his pupil technique, and his eyes turned blood-red as he glared at the giants.

As soon as Wang Ming activated his technique and his gaze landed on the giants, their bodies stiffened, and their faces showed traces of agony. The wind stopped blowing, and the clouds froze in place as the sky turned blood-red. Two slits appeared behind the clouds, slowly opening to reveal two blood-red eyes radiating pure killing intent—the overwhelming murderous inent of someone who had slaughtered millions. As soon as the eyes fell on the giants, their bodies began to swell as if they were on the verge of exploding.

---

As soon as Wang Ming shot toward the giants, the other else activated their techniques one after another.

"Giant Lightning Spear!"

Min Li, already in her Lightning Spirit Form and covered in purple lightning, created a massive spear of lightning and hurled it toward the giant charging at her.

Ziiii!

The lightning spear sped through the air and directly struck the giant’s body. But to everyone’s wide-eyed shock, nothing happened—not even a scratch.

"Impossible," Min Li exclaimed — not because she had failed, but because everyone else had also launched similar techniques and nothing happened to the giant at all, not even single scratch just the same as her attack could not.

"Damn, I don’t think I’m excited anymore," the masked man muttered as he looked at his spear; he had struck with all his might, yet it merely rebounded without causing any harm.

"I don’t think we can defeat them if we target them separately. Let’s all team up and gang up on them one by one and target the same place," Qing Na said desperately; her charm techniques did not work on corpses.

’Damn. If I leave here alive, I’m going to focus on increasing my offensive techniques even if I go broke,’ Qing Na thought through gritted teeth as she dodged another attack and leapt toward the group.

"Sure, let’s team up," Jiang Yao said, terrified — she had never encountered such a dangerous situation in her life and cursed herself for not training more in combat.

"But if we want to gang up, it won’t be easy," Mui Ling said in a grim voice.

"She is right, we need a way to distract them. Anyone, any ideas? Hurry up, they’re coming!" Wu Jing said in panic as she looked at the charging behemoths. Everyone’s face turned grim, but no one spoke.

"I actually have a treasure that I borrowed from a guy. It can create illusions... maybe we can distract them with that," Qing Na said, then coughed awkwardly when she noticed everyone staring at her strangely.

’Borrowed? More like robbed,’ everyone who knew her nature thought silently.

Suddenly, all of their bodies stiffened as an overwhelming sense of dread surged through them. The murderous intent in the area spiked, radiating from Wang Ming’s direction.

"What the fuck is happening there?" Wu Jing muttered, swallowing hard as she looked at Wang Ming’s direction and then up at the clouds which was turning blood red. Two slits opened above, and instinct screamed at her to look away or die. She immediately lowered her gaze, and so did the others.

’I was right. No wonder he gave off such a sense of danger,’ the masked man thought with a frown, noticing that even the giants near them had stiffened.

"Hey, now’s our chance—quickly, kill them!" the masked man shouted, snapping everyone out of their daze.

’Is he using that technique again?’ Min Li thought. She had seen Wang Ming use it once before.

---

"Hmm?" Just as Wang Ming thought the giants were about to explode into blood mist, he saw the titans wave their hands—immediately halting the giants’ swelling.
