Chapter 2410: Money Quest.
The Power of Wealth is a divine ability that can give them the physical power of an angel. All they will need to take full advantage of it is a lot of money.
As things are, they have a lot of money in their bank. And if they need more, they can always steal some more. So this divine ability is a good fit for them.
With this single Power of Wealth divine ability, they don’t need any other divine ability that enhances physical prowess. What’s more, when combined with the power of their divine beast form.
In order to gain the Power of Wealth divine ability from their slave, they had to place another mark of bondage on Edwin. Then they directed the mark of bondage to the rank 4 divine flesh where the divine ability they wanted resided.
After the mark of bondage reached this divine flesh, they used their rank 7 Power Bond divine ability on it. This caused the mark of bondage to bond with the divine flesh.
Edwin didn’t feel any difference. He could still use the divine ability, so nothing had changed about him. But a lot had changed about Legion.
Without using their divine beast form, their body began to grow stronger. The increase was so significant that they became nearly strong enough to match the physical power of a demigod without the boost of their divine beast form.
This increase to their strength fascinated them to no end. The fact that this single divine ability could still make them stronger made them say to Edwin, "Go and get more money as soon as possible. Be secretive about it, but do whatever you need to do."
Edwin bowed to them. Then he left them to execute their order.
The Power of Wealth’s divine ability is still within him. So the stronger the divine ability becomes within him, the more benefit that Legion will gain.
If Edwin puts more money into the Power of Wealth divine ability, it will also strengthen Legion. The two of them won’t gain the same boost, though.
Edwin will gain a greater boost from the divine ability because he is weaker and because he has a greater mastery of the divine ability than them.
But this difference won’t matter by the time Edwin stores the entire wealth of a nation within the divine ability. At that point, both he and Legion would have reached the limit of mortal power.
Legion thought briefly about sending their legendary noble slave to protect Edwin and help him amass wealth. This is because Edwin is very important to them now.
But they eventually didn’t let the legendary slave go. This was because they couldn’t use the unreasonable power of nobles through the Power Bond divine ability.
The unreasonable power of nobles comes from the combination of three divine abilities. Those divine abilities are the rank 3 Setting Rules divine ability, the rank 4 Land Sovereign divine ability, and the rank 7 Domain divine ability.
The Setting Rules divine ability is what allows them to command others. The Land Sovereign divine ability allows nobles to gain an advantage in spiritual energy consumption when setting rules and commanding others when they are in their territory.
Finally, the Domain divine ability allows nobles to move their territory around with them and grants them the ability to command everything in their mobile territory, including themselves, others, and the world.
The three divine abilities work together and need to be active at the same time in order for the unreasonable power of nobles to be made manifest. The Power Bond divine ability can’t do this because it can’t use more than one divine ability at the same time.
Since Legion can’t use the unreasonable power of nobles by themselves, they decided to keep the noble around to use it for them.
It is sort of a hassle, but at least they don’t have to expend three marks of bondage to gain the unreasonable power of a noble. Just one mark of bondage is enough to order the legendary noble around.
Another reason they decided to keep the legendary noble nearby is for assurance.
They are confident of defeating the angel of slavery in the Hydra Kingdom, but they still decided not to be overconfident. After all, their target is an angel. So they should be cautious in this fight.
So they kept the legendary noble nearby to protect them. They also didn’t let Edwin go on his own. They made him wait for their next slave to arrive and accompany him.
The next slave to arrive is the Walking Traveler slave. He was the next because he was the fastest after Edwin.
Legion made the Walker construct more gates for them before sending him away with Edwin. The Walking Traveler’s ability to sense danger and escape it with gates will help Edwin survive, so Legion felt assured sending him away.
While they waited for their remaining slaves to arrive, they began working on filling in the gaps in their slave counts. They also did some training.
They lost four slaves during their heist of Reinfield, so they need to replenish these losses. They have also become greedy for the divine abilities in the pathway of Creation and the pathway of Destruction. So they want to get even more slaves.
As for training, it has become very easy for them to do now. All they need to do to train all of their divine abilities is to liberate their divine beast forms.
Since they can maintain their divine beast form indefinitely and don’t have to worry about losing control, it will be a crime for them not to train.
All they needed to do was replenish their existence with spiritual water once in a while because they can’t produce spiritual energy indefinitely.
Since their current priority is gaining more slaves and using their Power Bond divine ability, they decided to liberate the divine beast form of the pathway of slavery.
They were doing this when their next slave arrived.
