Chapter 2398: Priority Of Justice.
They are ignorant mortals who don’t know that they are still in danger by staying around Reinfield. But that is about to change.
Now that she has come to fight and kill that great power, it is foreseeable that these mortals will get to find out that the source of Reinfield’s calamity is still nearby.
They will become enlightened, but this knowledge will be their doom because once the angel of killing appears, death will follow.
She can prevent this from happening by telling these people to leave now so that they won’t be caught by the repercussions of their fight. But doing so will also give the angel of killing a heads-up, which can make her mission more difficult and dangerous.
So she has two options. She can either prioritize the safety of these mortals over that of her mission and her life. Or she can prioritize her safety and mission over the lives of these people.
The decision wasn’t difficult for her to pick. She chose to prioritize the safety of these people.
She had been hidden in the air before, so no one had seen her. This was the effect of the cloak she was wearing.
She removed the effect of the cloak now so that the people below could see her. Then she spoke to them.
She said in a grave tone, "Leave now if you want to live. There is a great calamity coming now. The sooner you leave and the farther you go, the safer you will be."
Her voice was very loud so that everyone below and around could hear her. This was how dedicated she was to saving people.
She even waited in place for the people below to escape before continuing with her mission. After all, if she doesn’t give them time to run, her warning will be in vain.
The people below were grateful for her warning. They thanked her profusely while scrambling to escape for their lives.
This sight filled her with a sense of accomplishment. It made her happy.
What she had done meant that the angel of killing now knew that she was around and even had time to prepare or run away from her. But she didn’t care much about that.
She saved all of these people because her morals wouldn’t let her disregard the lives of people. The lives of people are valuable to her no matter how weak they are.
In fact, the weaker someone is, the more she wants to protect them, not disregard their lives.
The second reason she chose to reveal herself was because she didn’t think making the angel know that she had appeared was going to change the outcome much.
She was confident in her power, so she thought little of the impact of making the angel know that she is here to kill him. Since what she will be sacrificing by making her presence known is so small, then she has to prioritize the lives of so many people.
She waited an entire 10 minutes for the people to escape. There were still some people around who hadn’t escaped, but she didn’t care about them anymore because if they hadn’t escaped yet, it meant that they didn’t value their lives.
If they didn’t value their lives, then there was no need for her to care about their lives either. Her conscience was unburdened, so she strolled into the forest to begin her mission.
The angel of killing saw her coming and sighed in pity. He grumbled and said, "Just a little bit more time and things would be so much better."
He had subdued most of his wayward avatars. There is only one left for him to subdue.
It should have been easy to subdue that one, but he hasn’t succeeded in doing so because the avatar ran away.
It seemed that the avatar himself knew that he would be easy to defeat. So he ran away in order to preserve his autonomy.
The only saving grace is that he can sense the general direction of the avatar and find it. If not for this, the avatar could hide in any part of the world, and he would be unable to find it no matter how much he looks around for it.
But in order to capture that one avatar, he had to send his avatars in pursuit. This meant that not only was his power incomplete, but he also had to divert part of the power in his possession to find the rest of his incomplete power.
If he had more time, he would have captured that avatar. Unfortunately, time was not on his side. In fact, if not for Legion causing trouble in Reinfield and turning the city into the perfect bait for his other avatar, he wouldn’t have been able to come this far.
Unfortunately, it seemed this is as far as he can go for now. The angel of justice was right. Announcing her presence and giving him 10 minutes to prepare for her arrival wasn’t going to change much.
But all hope is not lost for him. This is because he is not fighting alone.
As soon as the angel of justice arrived, a knight and a warrior appeared around her. The angel of killing also sent an avatar to fight her.
The knight said to her, "Please return. This killer won’t be killed by you today."
Three angels surrounded her. In response, she liberated her divine form.
Instead of retreating, she was fighting to the death right from the start. This didn’t surprise the knight. He only shook his head and sighed in pity.
He didn’t want to fight, but as a vassal of a rank 9 noble, he has to do what the noble told him to do or his power will be crippled.
On the bright side, if he dies, as long as his main soul survives, he can be saved with the water of life. This is one of the benefits of being the vassal of a noble.
