Mang Hou
Chapter 94 One Person Suppresses the Battlefield
Suren didn't linger at the alley barricade. He turned and headed towards the dilapidated building not far away.
Inside, the building was pitch black, devoid of any light.
Knowing the enemy had already entered, he guessed there were likely traps, booby traps, or warning devices along the way.
After all, this dilapidated building was the usual gathering spot for the Green Street gang, and they knew its layout intimately.
So, Suren didn't choose the stairs. Instead, he used the mechanical gauntlet on his arm to launch a steel cable, using it to pull himself up and over the obstacles outside. With a few climbs, he scaled the outer wall and reached the rooftop.
Seeing no one on the roof, he listened intently for a moment before descending to the fourth floor.
Using the steel cable to lower himself silently, he spotted two figures in a corner, furtively setting up a sniper rifle.
They were completely unaware someone had quietly crept up behind them.
Suren raised his gun and fired. "Biu~" "Biu~" Two shots ended their lives.
He walked over and casually harvested the soul fragments from their bodies.

The two wisps of gray mist provided Suren with some firearms experience, and the basic mechanical knowledge was exactly what he needed.
Sure enough, operating independently allowed him to perform at his best.
Suren killed two people, gaining a decent sniper rifle, two external mechanical arms, and a couple of storage rings containing various items, which he estimated could be sold for around two to three hundred thousand.
Although he rarely used sniper rifles, his marksmanship was excellent.
Kicking the corpses aside, Suren lay on the dust cloth, propped the enemy's large sniper rifle on his shoulder, and peered through the scope at the battlefield below.
From this angle, he had a clear view of Kai's team's barricade below.
It was fortunate he had arrived quickly. Any delay, and the Green Street gang would have been caught in a pincer attack and likely wiped out.
In that instant, Suren aimed the scope at a Steam Party member across the alley holding a single-soldier rocket launcher, and with a "Bang," blew his head off.
Then, he cocked the gun and aimed at the surprised-looking figure next to the headshot victim, blowing a hole through his chest.
Two shots, two kills. The enemy realized there was a sniper in the dilapidated building and instantly stopped showing their faces.
........
After firing two shots, Suren didn't look for other targets. He quickly packed up the sniper rifle and left his position.
Just seconds after he left, a barrage of gunfire swept across the spot where he had been shooting.
Hearing the distinctive "da-da-da" sound, Suren knew it was the vehicle-mounted heavy machine gun on the armored car.
Armor-piercing rounds tore through the concrete wall, shredding the two corpses on the floor. If he hadn't moved, that volley of bullets would have been aimed at him.
Suren moved to a different location, hiding behind a load-bearing pillar, his eyes scanning the battle below.
His expression was utterly calm now, and he didn't fire frequently.
He only took a shot when he saw a target that posed a significant threat to Kai and the others.
After killing two more people, a rocket flew over and blasted a large hole in the floor.
However, Suren had anticipated it and dodged in advance.
Kai, downstairs, saw the rocket fly towards the building and had worried about Suren's safety. But hearing the sporadic gunshots, he knew Suren was still safe.
With such an accurate sniper suppressing the enemy, their pressure was greatly reduced.
.......
On the dilapidated building, Suren surveyed the entire battlefield.
The whole of Green Street was now in chaos. The enemy's main force had completely flooded into the area. In the few minutes since he had come upstairs, several locations where gunfire had been heard had gone completely silent. The Steam Party had an overwhelming numerical advantage, and the Cross Society was steadily losing ground.
It could be said that Kai's team was holding out entirely because he alone was keeping the enemy at bay.
But Suren knew he should retreat.
He couldn't change this situation by sniping a few people.
Suddenly, he saw a house in the distance collapse with a deafening roar.
"A high-level professional is fighting?"
Suren narrowed his eyes, looking at the heart of the collapse. He saw a red-skinned giant, like a god of war, locked in combat with several Steam Party executives.
"That's Goron? He really is strong..."
Suren watched, his eyes shining with interest.
Goron was fighting three opponents single-handedly, and he wasn't losing ground.
The Cross Society had sent two executives this time. Yanguai had returned to headquarters, leaving Goron alone in Green Street.
Suren had been holding back because he hadn't seen him earlier.
Now that he saw Goron, he breathed a sigh of relief.
Having this executive draw the enemy's fire was like a beacon lighting up the night, attracting the attention of the enemy's tier-two professionals.
This meant there was even less chance of an enemy executive coming after him.
Thinking of this, he looked at Kai and the others who were still fighting hard downstairs and didn't hurry to leave.
"Looks like I can camp here a bit longer."
Suren muttered to himself.
He calculated the time, pondering, "Someone should be coming soon..."
.......
The high ground on the battlefield was crucial, especially now that they knew there was a sniper inside.
Suddenly, an explosion rang out near the stairway on the first floor of the dilapidated building.
Hearing the explosion, Suren wasn't surprised. It was the warning bomb that the two snipers had set up earlier.
The explosion meant someone had sneaked in.
He quickly grabbed a few smoke grenades from his tactical vest, pulled the pins, and tossed them into the corners of the fourth floor.
Seconds later, smoke filled the entire floor, making it impossible to see.
Suren adjusted his goggles, and his vision was no longer affected.
The tactical goggles he wore on his head were Black Tower Academy equipment he had scavenged in the underground cave. They had night vision and smoke penetration capabilities. This was military-grade equipment that couldn't be bought in the outer city.
He didn't think the average Steam Party gang members would have something that good.
Before long, a few figures tiptoed up the stairs. Before their feet could reach the fourth floor, Suren fired four shots.
As the gunshots rang out, four corpses tumbled down the stairs.
After firing, his ears twitched again, detecting other movements. He immediately turned his gun towards the window and fired two more shots, hitting two guys climbing up the wall.
After six people died in quick succession, the guys downstairs learned their lesson. Holding mechanical shields in front, about a dozen of them came up together.
Smoke filled their vision. Although they couldn't see clearly, they fired wildly in all directions.
Suren didn't rush to attack, hiding behind a stone pillar, carefully listening to the enemy's footsteps to judge their position.
Bullets struck the stone pillar, showering him with fragments.
After the enemy finished firing a round, he accurately judged the position of the group.
Just then, Suren flicked his finger, and a bizarre doll suddenly dropped from the ceiling above the stairway.
The doll looked like an executed corpse, "struggling" and flailing in the air, its mouth emitting a creepy "ga-ga-ga" laugh.
The Steam Party members felt a momentary daze as the sound entered their ears, and they suddenly couldn't hold onto their guns and shields.
Suren didn't hesitate. He stepped out from behind the pillar, firing both guns simultaneously, unleashing thirteen shots at the crowd, followed by three more.
In the blink of an eye, another thirteen people were dead.
The corpses piled up at the stairwell.
In front of this "Firearms Expert," who also had the advantage of an ambush, the Steam Party's ordinary gang members were no match at all.
.......
Suren didn't look at the corpses scattered all over the floor. He pulled the steel cable, raising the bizarre doll back up to the ceiling.
Because he knew this was just the beginning.
There were still footsteps downstairs!
Suren changed his position again, watching the entire fourth floor intently, thinking, "The next wave should be a team of professional-level fighters..."
