Chapter 240 The Gusobl Type Combat Puppet

Before others could react, a claw wreathed in lightning slammed down towards Jing Mingqiu's head.

In that split second, Jing Mingqiu raised his right hand. The nanites hidden beneath his skin flowed out, transforming into a short blade, which precisely blocked the claw.

"Bang!"

The collision produced a sharp sound. The unexpected guest's attack was intercepted by Jing Mingqiu. Then, the lightning surrounding the claw transformed into a lightning dragon, roaring out from the impact and surging along the short blade towards Jing Mingqiu's heart.

Jing Mingqiu, seeing the notch chipped on his short blade by the claw, dared not delay. His nanite armor activated at full power, instantly covering his entire body. The lightning dragon, following closely, entered Jing Mingqiu's body but was blocked by the armor.

At this moment, Jing Mingqiu was enveloped in electricity, like a god of thunder descending.

Taking advantage of the brief pause in the attack, Jing Mingqiu first initiated a scan.

While the system was scanning, Jing Mingqiu carefully examined the intruder who had suddenly attacked him.

He stood nine feet tall, his physique resembling a black-backed gorilla. However, he was covered in scales, and two horns curved from his head. One of them was broken mid-segment, revealing a green face and fangs. Both his hands were sharp claws, and a large fissure in his chest revealed numerous intricate metallic components…

Before Jing Mingqiu could study him further, the intruder, finding the lightning attack ineffective, quickly adjusted his offensive. His right claw suddenly extended, sweeping across in a horizontal slash, preparing to cut Jing Mingqiu in two.

Jing Mingqiu, naturally, would not fall for such a crude attack. He quickly retreated, dodging the blow. As he moved, his right hand released the short blade, which transformed into a flying sword and stabbed towards the intruder's chest.

"Bang!"

Another muffled thud. The intruder reacted swiftly, interlocking his claws to catch Jing Mingqiu's flying sword.

Then, he exerted force with his arms, directly crushing Jing Mingqiu's flying sword into scrap metal. Fragments of the sword, mixed with lightning, shot out in all directions.

Jing Mingqiu was unconcerned by these fragments. Such an attack was insufficient to destroy the nanobots that formed his armor. However, the other personnel nearby were not so fortunate. Several were pierced by the flying sword fragments and fell into pools of blood.

Jing Mingqiu was about to move to save them when the intruder, having adjusted his stance, launched a new round of attacks at him.

"No, I can't fight him here. I need to relocate."

With this thought, Jing Mingqiu yelled to the surrounding security personnel to rescue the injured, then leaped upwards and flew out through the large hole the intruder had torn in the ceiling.

Seeing Jing Mingqiu attempt to escape, the intruder pursued without hesitation.

As Jing Mingqiu led the intruder towards a sparsely populated area, the system's cold mechanical voice sounded in his ear.

"Ding, scan complete."

"Name: Gusobl-type combat puppet."

"Description: A severely damaged and critically low-energy space puppet with many valuable parts, highly suitable for modification."

"Main Structure: Partial loss of chest armor, cracked neck support structure, spinal conduit leakage."

"Head: Lightning accumulator severely damaged, partially missing, resulting in low charging efficiency and loss of ability to launch electro-charge spheres."

"Chest Cavity: Gravity generator completely scrapped, significant loss of space combat capability, severe ammunition shortage, replenishment recommended."

"Claws: Left claw lost transformation function, right claw's third extension function damaged, unable to retract…"

"System level insufficient to provide modification plans."

After reviewing the entire scan result, Jing Mingqiu's heart bloomed with joy. He had always been deeply interested in the Gus civilization, which colluded with the United States. He had been too busy recently to conduct a thorough investigation. Now, they had come to him.

That the system couldn't provide modification plans was well within Jing Mingqiu's expectations; the system's level was still too low. However, Jing Mingqiu quickly glanced over the scan results, a subtle smile playing on his lips. The fact that it could point out the areas needing modification for each part of the combat puppet was enough. It was akin to exposing all its weaknesses directly to him.

"Head weapons unusable, cervical and spinal columns severely damaged, lost gravity adjustment capability, right claw cannot fully retract, left claw restricted, cannot extend deeply…"

Jing Mingqiu rapidly integrated all the combat puppet's weaknesses and, with Cang Yue's help, devised a perfect combat plan.

Upon arriving in the uninhabited area, Jing Mingqiu feigned an attack on the combat puppet's head. While it raised its claws to defend, he suddenly flashed behind it and attached a magnetic gravity generator to its lower left back.

"Vroom!"

As the gravity generator operated at full power, tens of thousands of tons of pressure covered the combat puppet's entire body. Its internal joints creaked, and its entire frame instantly hunched over.

Red light flickered in the combat puppet's eyes. Its internal engine operated at full power, struggling to stand up while simultaneously reaching to detach the gravity generator from its back.

Due to the extension function being prioritized, it could not reach. The combat puppet quickly adjusted its plan, engulfing its entire body in a massive amount of electricity. The scales on its back opened, revealing two mechanical arms. It attempted to turn the tables, to make the gravity generator Jing Mingqiu had attached to its back into its own part.

This was exactly what Jing Mingqiu was waiting for. The moment the scales on the combat puppet's back opened, he swung his long sword and stabbed down fiercely.

Seeing this, a dense array of gun muzzles immediately popped out from beneath the scales, all neatly aimed at Jing Mingqiu.

Unfazed, Jing Mingqiu was engulfed in a flash of lightning and charged forward.

"Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang!"

Admittedly, this was worthy of being a combat puppet specifically designed by the Gus star. The attack power of these solid projectiles was very high, easily leaving several dents on Jing Mingqiu's armor. If there were enough of them, they could have torn Jing Mingqiu to shreds. However, unfortunately, the Gus combat puppet's exposed gun muzzles on its back were terrifying in number, but less than a tenth of them actually fired. Furthermore, among the fired projectiles, only a very small fraction were solid ammunition; the rest were energy spheres. These energy spheres, upon contact with Jing Mingqiu's protective shield, which mimicked the Gus combat puppet's energy band, not only caused no damage but also replenished his armor's energy.

With the system's assistance, Jing Mingqiu's heavy sword thrust, combined with the tens of thousands of tons of pressure, precisely struck the combat puppet's spine. With a crisp crack, the entire spine instantly exploded. The combat puppet appeared humanoid, but its head was not its vital point; it was merely a lure, a weapon that could be discarded at any time. Its true operating center was the spine that ran throughout its body.

After its spine was shattered by Jing Mingqiu's blow, the Gusobl-type combat puppet's red eye lights extinguished, and it stood frozen in place, completely immobilized.

"Phew!"

Jing Mingqiu retracted his armor, looking at the several obvious bruises on his body. He pressed a cracked rib, wincing in pain. "Fortunately, this guy's internal solid ammunition was depleted. Otherwise, it wouldn't have been so easy to deal with."

"What goes around comes around," Jing Mingqiu released Cang Yue from the system space. "Yue'er, come here and help. Link this guy's memory core and see where those aliens colluding with the United States are hiding?"
