“Here it is!” Billd Barit slammed his finger down on a small island in the Pacific. “Professor Tris, initiate Lightning Storm, full power attack on this island.”
Tris Walton, seeing where Billd Barit pointed, was stunned. “General, are you sure you want to attack the capital of Sakura Country? They are an ally of the United States!”
“Ally?” Billd Barit sneered. “They’re just a dog raised by the United States.”
Tris Walton was still confused. “Even if it’s just a dog, it’s their own. Even if we can’t attack Dragon Country, we have many other targets like Afghanistan, Qatar, or the Bears of the North. There’s no need to target our own people.”
Hearing Tris Walton say that, Billd Barit couldn't help but laugh heartily. “Professor Tris, I admit you’re more capable than me in terms of technology, but when it comes to people, you’re still too naive.”
“Think about it carefully, Professor. Is there anywhere in the world more suitable as an experimental target than Sakura Country?”
Before Tris Walton could retort, Billd Barit explained himself.
“Firstly, Sakura Country, as a dog raised by the United States, has our military bases within their borders. We can monitor them legally and reasonably at any time, ensuring we receive firsthand information.”
“Secondly, the fewer people who know about secret weapons, the better. Preferably, they should be used by surprise before Dragon Country can set up defenses. But now, to prove the strength of the Gus aliens, we must conduct an experiment.”
“If we attack somewhere else, or attack our own territory directly, Dragon Country might suspect us. If our homeland suffers, they might guess that our secret weapon malfunctioned.”
“Only in Sakura Country, due to Dragon Country’s constant close surveillance, we only have simple garrisons and no laboratories. If a super weapon appears there, the possibility of them suspecting us is very low.”
“Even,” Billd Barit’s eyes gleamed, “we can shift the blame for Lightning Storm onto Dragon Country, causing them to lose face and pay a heavy price!”
“After all, we hold the banner of public opinion!”
Tris Walton was suddenly enlightened, and he finally understood the whole scheme. When he looked up at Billd Barit again, he suddenly felt like he was playing with fire and felt a chill.
With this thought, Tris Walton’s attitude suddenly became very solicitous. He turned on the projector, offered the main seat, and with a smile, said, “Your Excellency General, I have adjusted it. This is the capital of Sakura Country. Please select a target for attack?”
Billd Barit looked at the map of Tokyo from the satellite view. After scanning various locations such as the Imperial Palace, the Prime Minister’s Office, and the Ginza commercial district, he bypassed these political and economic centers and chose a relatively secluded shrine.
“This one. Full power attack, Lightning Storm at maximum capacity, level it to the ground.”
“Huh?” Tris Walton was once again confused by Billd Barit’s choice. “General, why choose this place? Most of the buildings here are made of wood, which won’t showcase the power of Lightning Storm!”
Billd Barit’s lips curved slightly. “Heh, it may seem insignificant, but this is the spiritual symbol of Sakura Country, and an eyesore for the people of Dragon Country. Only globally would someone launch an attack here with all their might.”
“Wh-why?”
Before Tris Walton could even finish his question, Billd Barit interrupted him.
“Enough, stop the nonsense and launch it quickly!”
“Okay, okay!” Tris Walton dared not delay and quickly entered a string of code, launching the Gus aliens’ super weapon.
As the red activation button was pressed, the sky above Tokyo changed dramatically. In the blink of an eye, what was clear and sunny became completely covered by layers of black clouds, and Billd Barit temporarily lost his satellite view.
“Boom! Boom!”
Countless thick bolts of lightning descended from the sky and struck fiercely, instantly engulfing the entire shrine.
Many people in Sakura Country thought divine punishment had arrived, their faces pale as they knelt and prayed for their gods to forgive their sins.
However, there was no response. The lightning struck for more than twenty seconds, only dispersing unwillingly when all its energy was depleted.
As the clouds dissipated, Billd Barit eagerly opened the satellite camera to observe the attack effect of Lightning Storm.
He saw that the wooden structures were ignited by the lightning, fleeing people turned into charred corpses, and large holes were blasted into the ground. At this moment, the shrine near Tokyo had turned into a living hell.
“Too, too powerful!” Billd Barit couldn’t help but give a thumbs up, then added with lingering dissatisfaction, “It would be even better if the attack duration could be longer. Only over twenty seconds is really too short.”
Tris Walton quickly explained, “The reason it only attacked for twenty-three seconds was mainly due to insufficient energy. If there was sufficient energy supply, it could have continued striking!”
“I see!” Billd Barit was very satisfied. “I agree to the cooperation, but before that, I have two small requests.”
Tris Walton replied respectfully, “Your Excellency General, please state your requests directly.”
“The first,” Billd Barit raised a finger, “a mere six-star general has too little power. I hope you can help me deal with the current President Smith Lumen of the United States. I need the position of President.”
Tris Walton readily agreed, “No problem! I will monitor Smith Lumen closely from now on. When he travels by plane, I will activate Lightning Storm to shoot down the plane, making it appear as an accidental death due to a thunderstorm.”
“Good, good,” Billd Barit showed a look of approval, as if teaching a promising student. “Another US President killed by a lightning weapon, this way, no one will suspect this is our weapon.”
Then, Billd Barit raised his second finger.
“Next is the second request. Jing Mingqiu is a big problem. Some say he is a god created by Dragon Country, who knows nothing. Others say he is the greatest contributor to Dragon Country’s rise, the greatest scientist of the 21st century.”
“I don’t know which of these statements is true, but for the United States to be great again and to prevent our interests from being harmed, the fewer unpredictable factors, the better. I hope you can find a way to eliminate him.”
“This is quite difficult!” Tris Walton showed a troubled expression. “I’ve heard of Jing Mingqiu. The mecha suit he wears is a Faraday cage itself, capable of blocking lightning attacks.”
“Moreover, the material of that mecha suit is extremely hard, it can even withstand nuclear explosions. Lightning Storm will have difficulty inflicting effective damage on him, let alone killing him!”
Billd Barit spread his hands. “I don’t care. If a dignified alien civilization cannot even deal with an ordinary person, then there’s no point in talking about cooperation!”
Seeing Billd Barit’s firm attitude, Tris Walton could only reluctantly nod. “Alright, I’ll go back and discuss it with Lord Gus. We will do our best to meet your demands.”
While Billd Barit was discussing the details of betraying humanity and siding with aliens, the news that the Yasukuni Shrine in Sakura Country had been reduced to rubble by lightning had already spread like wildfire across the globe…
