Hu Die Lan
Chapter 403 Waiting and Waiting
Gu Fei and Bai Shi Jing Lun had left the tavern quite a while ago. Besides Han Jia Gongzi, who was still calmly drinking, the others were more or less lost in thought.
"How are we supposed to survive with someone like that around?" After a long silence, Zhan Wu Shang finally sighed.
"Leave that problem to Jian Nan You to worry about!" Han Jia Gongzi said.
"Aren't we going to go watch?" Zhan Wu Shang glanced at the others. How a great expert falls should be something everyone is interested in.
"Go! Let's go see!" Yu Tian Shen Ming jumped up.
"Don't rush," Han Jia Gongzi said.
The four of them looked at him, wondering what kind of trick he had up his sleeve this time.
"Is Linshui City a place you can just go to whenever you want?" Han Jia Gongzi asked.
"What do you mean?" The four were taken aback.
"You need a boat, idiots!" Han Jia Gongzi looked down on their serious expressions. Clearly, they thought it was some huge problem.
"Oh, oh..." The four realized. People from Sunset City easily overlooked that.
"Then they..." Zhan Wu Shang was speechless. Han Jia Gongzi had remembered this all along, but didn't remind the two of them. He was truly malicious.
"There are no boats at this hour," You Ge announced after checking his intelligence notebook.
"Tsk, tsk, tsk, tsk!" Yu Tian Shen Ming's face was full of schadenfreude. Jian Gui was a little more decent and sent Gu Fei a message.
The two had already left the city gates by then. Receiving the message from Jian Gui, Gu Fei immediately realized his mistake and slapped his forehead. "What time are the boats?" he asked Bai Shi Jing Lun.
"Oh right, we need to take a boat to get there!" Bai Shi Jing Lun also suddenly realized and quickly inquired about the times. After asking, he shook his head repeatedly. "Not going today, it's too late. Let's talk about it early tomorrow!"
"Can we catch the earliest boat if we go early?" Gu Fei asked.
"It's a bit difficult... unless we log off now and run to the pier," Bai Shi Jing Lun said. The pier in Sunset City wasn't a safe zone for logging off, so it wasn't worth the risk for such a small matter.
"How about the weekend? Do you have time off?" Gu Fei asked.
"Yes! Let's do Saturday then!" Bai Shi Jing Lun said.
After confirming their plans, the two returned to Sunset City. The experts of the elite group, upon learning of this decision, all rejoiced for Jian Nan You: his nightmare could finally be postponed for two days. It was Thursday, and there were still two days until Saturday.
On Saturday, Gu Fei rushed into the game before noon. Bai Shi Jing Lun was also online as promised. The two had agreed two days prior to take the noon boat to Linshui City today.
The experts of the elite group were surprisingly not online at this prime time. Gu Fei and Bai Shi Jing Lun met up and hurried to the pier, boarded the boat, and swayed their way towards Linshui City.
This was the third day since the Zongheng Sihai guild mission had been completed. Jian Nan You had been waiting foolishly in Linshui City for three days. Since the Linshui pier was the most popular place in the city, it was convenient for surveillance. Every day, when a boat arrived from Sunset City, Jian Nan You and his brothers would rush over and mingle among the drinkers, staring intently at the players disembarking from the ship.
The first day had the most people. Although Cloud Piercer City players didn't necessarily have to act together after the mission, they all crowded together to take the boat. As soon as the boat docked, a dark mass of people surged out. Jian Nan You and his group were mentally prepared and didn't even dare blink, staring for their lives. But besides Jian Nan You himself, none of the others recognized Gu Fei. They could only first identify the black-robed mages and then have Jian Nan You confirm.
They also couldn't rush forward to identify people, but had to pretend to sit at a table and drink calmly. It was quite exhausting.
As a result, everyone on the boat dispersed and the group didn't find Gu Fei, nor did they see any of the Han Jia Gongzi's elite group.
The first day passed, and the same happened on the second day.
On the third day, everyone waited punctually for three boats. The number of players from Sunset City had clearly decreased, but the person they wanted to see still hadn't arrived. It was just past noon, and the seven of them gathered at the pier again.
"Here again!" The player in charge of the open-air tavern greeted the seven of them familiarly.
Jian Nan You was quite depressed. He didn't want to attract attention, but he had to sit in the most advantageous position to see clearly. As a result, he had been waiting for three days and had become a regular at the tavern.
"Still waiting for the people you're waiting for?" The tavern player didn't even ask what the seven wanted, and brought over the drinks they had ordered every time for the past three days. He then asked nosily.
"Hehe, yes!" Jian Nan You's smile was a little awkward, his intentions exposed. Fortunately, those guys shouldn't have any connections with Linshui City, so the word wouldn't get out.
The tavern player was experienced in the service industry and was good at reading people's expressions. Seeing the atmosphere, he knew he wasn't welcome, so he silently withdrew after collecting the money.
"Looking at the situation, those guys are likely together," Huo Ran Yi said after the player left.
Jian Nan You nodded. It had been three days, and neither Gu Fei nor those experts had appeared. Since they were all friends, it was very likely they were acting together.
"In that case, we'll have to go with Plan B," Jian Nan You said.
Everyone nodded. They had anticipated the possibility of Gu Fei being with his expert friends and had designed a plan accordingly.
"This is troublesome!" The archer, Jiao Shui, yawned and complained. None of them had slept well for the past three days. There were six boats a day, each four hours apart, and they didn't want to miss any of them, so they were only getting three hours of sleep at a time. It was painful.
"It's almost time," Jian Nan You said, checking the time.
The other six nodded. They all put down their glasses and focused on the water. The large ferry was now faintly visible.
The boat grew closer and closer, and the seven's hearts began to race in anticipation.
"Bang!" The boat hit the shore. It didn't matter if it was damaged, the system's boats were that sturdy.
The wooden plank was lowered from the boat, and the seven's hearts clenched. Then, people began to walk out of the boat in twos and threes. Finally, a figure in a black robe came into view. The six of them confirmed that it was a black-robed mage and not an illusion, then looked at Jian Nan You.
"That's him!" Jian Nan You breathed a sigh of relief, feeling a sense of release. Whether they could deal with him or not was another matter, but at least he wouldn't have to squat here anymore. It was too exhausting.
"I don't see any of his companions!" Huo Ran Yi was excited. People like Jian Gui and Han Jia Gongzi were very distinctive and could be recognized at a glance. All the people had disembarked from the boat, but none of them were there.
Jiao Shui, who had a clearer view, concluded: "But he's not alone. He has a companion beside him. The others don't seem to know each other."
"Plan A or Plan C?" The priest among the seven asked Jian Nan You.
They had created three plans: Plan A for a solo Gu Fei, Plan B for Gu Fei traveling with his expert companions, and Plan C for Gu Fei not traveling with his expert companions, but with other companions. Although he had a companion now, it didn't seem necessary to use Plan C since it was only one person. Plan A should still work.
Just as Jian Nan You was about to make a decision, his eyes suddenly widened, as did Huo Ran Yi's, the thief Hei Shui's, and the other priest's.
"What's wrong?" Jiao Shui asked strangely.
"How are they together?" Jian Nan You continued to be astonished.
"What's the matter?" Jiao Shui was still confused.
"The guy with the video mage is Bai Shi Jing Lun," Huo Ran Yi said. During their trip to Sunset City, Jian Nan You, Huo Ran Yi, Hei Shui, and the priest had met Bai Shi Jing Lun. Jiao Shui and the other two had already returned to town, so they didn't recognize him.
"How is Bai Shi Jing Lun with him!" Jiao Shui was also shocked. The name Bai Shi Jing Lun was a symbol of invincibility in Sunset City, and the rumors had spread to Linshui City as well.
Taking on twenty-plus players was a terrifying feat! Gu Fei now had such a guy by his side. Clearly, this wasn't Plan A, B, or C. Their carefully crafted three plans were useless because Gu Fei had an unexpected companion.
"How did they get together? Weren't they fighting in the streets a few days ago?" Huo Ran Yi was still confused!
"Perhaps they became friends after a fight?" someone speculated.
"Why are you still talking about this? How do we deal with it?" Hei Shui looked at Jian Nan You.
Jian Nan You had been thinking about countermeasures since he recognized Bai Shi Jing Lun. His brain was running at full speed like a CPU…
On the other side, Bai Shi Jing Lun, who had disembarked, was greatly impressed by the beach in Linshui City. "Seeing it is believing! It's true that seeing it is believing."
"There's grilled fish over there, the taste is not bad," Gu Fei said, acting like a local, introducing the area to Bai Shi Jing Lun.
As they talked and walked, they suddenly stopped and looked at each other.
"You feel it too?" Gu Fei understood the meaning of Bai Shi Jing Lun's gaze.
"I feel it," Bai Shi Jing Lun nodded.
"Someone is very interested in us!" Gu Fei said, and they both turned to look in one direction.
"They found us!!!" Jiao Shui exclaimed.
"What?" Jian Nan You, who was still cosplaying a CPU, suddenly realized. He looked up and saw Gu Fei and Bai Shi Jing Lun staring straight at them. Their eyes met.
"How could this be..." The location they had chosen was inconspicuous, and they shouldn't have been particularly noticeable. How could these two have discovered them immediately after getting off the boat? None of them could understand it.
"They're coming over!" Hei Shui shouted. Gu Fei and Bai Shi Jing Lun were now walking towards their table.

The update is here… If the rain hadn't woken me up by hitting the window sill, I almost would have slept through the whole day!
