Hu Die Lan
Chapter 13 Returning the Item to Its Owner
Gu Fei remained unmoved, smiling as he said, "You run pretty fast!" As he spoke, he lowered his head to glance at the girl's injured calf and swiftly kicked the wound. "Is your leg better?"
The girl's heart clenched with pain, but her face remained unchanged. Before she could even answer, she heard Gu Fei muttering, "This isn't the bandage I put on before!"
"You're quite observant!" the girl said, somewhat surprised.
"Of course, otherwise I wouldn't have followed you before, and I wouldn't have found you again now," Gu Fei chuckled.
The girl looked at Gu Fei, not saying a word, without any expression, no one knew what she was thinking at the moment.
Gu Fei, however, was speaking on his own, "Actually, you could have guessed that I would know you were coming here to trade, but you just didn't expect me to come so quickly, right?"
"What about them?" the girl asked, referring to the five people in the Healing Square.
"Gone!" Gu Fei said.
"How could they let you go?" the girl couldn't help but ask, curious.
"Simple, I gave them back the dagger," Gu Fei said.
"Returned the dagger to them, and they believed you?" The girl found it hard to believe.
"Of course, it wasn't that easy to believe. But, the dagger was already returned to them, and they can't beat me in a fight, so what else could they ask for?" Gu Fei countered.
"They can't beat you?" The girl looked surprised. She knew Appraisal, after all, and could tell that Gu Fei was only a level 16 mage. This was higher than the average person's level right now, but the people who could get their hands on a dagger like Roar of Anger definitely couldn't be below level 16. Moreover, there weren't one, but five of them.
Gu Fei didn't care, just smiled.
"So you're saying, you returned the dagger to them when they couldn't do anything to you!" If her previous expression was surprise, then the girl's face now showed genuine disbelief. Although the dagger wasn't as good as Frost Memories, she estimated that it could easily sell for around thirty thousand. She didn't expect Gu Fei to let go so easily. Could it be that his purpose in following her all this way really wasn't for the money?
"What exactly do you want?" the girl couldn't help but ask.
"How many times have I said it? Return the dagger to me," Gu Fei said.
The girl's eyes continued to hold disbelief.
"I knew it, you never believe what I say. Therefore! Please look..." Gu Fei reached out and gestured to the side, and a figure flashed out from behind Gu Fei. A rather wretched-looking person, but with very spirited eyes, staring intently at the girl. Jian Gui (Sword Demon).
"Now you can believe it, right?" Gu Fei smiled, "No need to give the dagger to me, just return it to him. Who is he? I don't need to introduce him, right?"
The girl stared at Jian Gui for a while, then finally nodded, "Okay."
Back in the exhibition hall, she canceled the deposit transaction. After the girl got Frost Memories, she handed it over without holding it in her hand for even a second. But the target she handed it to was Gu Fei, not Jian Gui.
Gu Fei casually took it, handed it to Jian Gui to the side without even looking at it. And Jian Gui didn't show the slightest bit of nervousness or unease when Gu Fei reached out to take Frost Memories. From beginning to end, he just stared intently at the girl.
The girl could imagine the anger in his heart. However, this was the trading house. If you were to compare the safe zones in the game, the trading house was definitely the safest of safe zones.
In the Mage Academy, there could still be scenes of thousands of people shouting "Fireball" and igniting fireballs. And here, after Gu Fei called out "Fireball," he heard someone respond from the other corner of the exhibition hall. Fireball, who was admiring mage equipment, quickly rushed over.
"Do you have something to say to this miss?" Gu Fei asked Fireball.
Fireball nodded and looked at the girl, "Miss, what's your name!"
"Xi Xiaotian." No emotion could be seen on the girl's face, "And yours?" she asked back.
"My name is Fireball," Fireball said happily.
Xi Xiaotian didn't react, but her gaze continued to be fixed on Gu Fei.
Gu Fei knew that her "And yours?" was actually directed at him.
"Qian Li Zui," Gu Fei said with a sigh. He didn't like the name, but he could only bear it now.
"Real name!" Xi Xiaotian said.
Gu Fei was stunned, but still answered her, "Gu Fei."
Xi Xiaotian nodded, took a few steps back, leaned against the wall, and sat down on the ground. Holding her injured calf, she looked at Gu Fei and said, "Violent Fei!"
Gu Fei was stunned, but quickly retorted, "Liar Tian!"
The atmosphere was strange, Jian Gui couldn't help but cough softly.
"Uh, she's just a little girl, don't bother with her, right?" Gu Fei said to Jian Gui.
"Okay!" Jian Gui answered with one word without thinking.
Gu Fei smiled, "Now that you have the dagger, are you eager to level up again?"
Since entering the exchange, Jian Gui rarely smiled, although the smile was very ugly, "I'm leaving, talk to you later if anything!" After speaking, he didn't look at the three of them again, turned and left.
"Damn, cool! I really can't tell, his real person does have some resemblance to the legendary style in the game," Fireball said, and then added, "Except for the looks."
Gu Fei sighed, "I really can't refute you on this issue."
"What about us?" Fireball looked at Gu Fei, then at Xi Xiaotian, and asked.
"I'm going to level up too," Gu Fei replied, "What about you?"
Fireball didn't say anything, his eyes darting back and forth at Xi Xiaotian, but she didn't even glance at him, making him feel very unwelcome, so he had to say, "I'm going to level up too."
"Then let's go!" Gu Fei turned around.
"Hey!" Xi Xiaotian suddenly shouted.
Fireball turned back so quickly, it was as if he were the full-agility mage.
Xi Xiaotian still didn't look at him, just looked at Gu Fei, "My leg!" She pointed to her calf.
Gu Fei saw blood seeping out of the bandage again, walked two steps closer, sighed and said, "You're really heavy, I can't carry you!" As he said that, he rubbed his right shoulder--the place where he had carried Xi Xiaotian before.
Xi Xiaotian glared at him.
Gu Fei sighed, reached out his hand, "Bandage."
Xi Xiaotian took out a bandage from her pocket and handed it over. Gu Fei bent down, tore off the wrapping, and re-wrapped it for her. "I told you! How could my hemostatic bandage technique be useless? Look, the way you wrapped it yourself wasn't good."
Gu Fei wrapped it up in a few strokes, stood up, "Okay, it's impossible to bleed again, unless you mess with it yourself, then I'm not responsible."
"I'm leaving!" Waving to Xi Xiaotian, Gu Fei and Fireball walked outwards. The moment he stepped out of the exchange, Gu Fei received a system message: Xi Xiaotian has added you as a friend.
This girl... registered herself as Xi Xiaotian, and then asked for my real name, so this should be her real name? Everyone in the game uses a fake name, but a liar is actually using a real name, is there any logic in this world? Gu Fei muttered to himself.
After leaving the trading house, the friend request window in Gu Fei's friend list was still open.
"Thank you. If you hadn't mentioned it, I really wouldn't have known that the game had a trading house," Gu Fei sent a message, targeting: Hongchen Yixiao.
"Haha! Did you find it in the trading house?" Hongchen Yixiao replied.
"Yeah, it's alright now," Gu Fei said.
"Do you want to tell me the liar's information?" Hongchen Yixiao asked.
"This, forget it..." Gu Fei said.
"Protecting the liar? That's rare, is she a beauty?" Hongchen Yixiao replied.
"She does look good," Gu Fei was honest.
Hongchen Yixiao replied, "I'm reminding you! With my many years of experience in the industry, female players' scams are not only terrifying, but they can also be quite scary when they retaliate, so be careful!"
"The game is so big, it'll be hard to meet again," Gu Fei said.
"Really?"
"Uh... maybe!" Gu Fei was still honest. She took the initiative to add him as a friend, so it's hard to say whether she would take the initiative to come to his door again in the future!
"I won't talk to you anymore, I'm going to continue leveling."
"Hey, reveal some information about Bosses, hidden quests, or superb equipment!" Gu Fei said.
"Don't tease me, I'm a self-disciplined game worker," Hongchen Yixiao said.
Gu Fei was just joking casually, of course he didn't really want any information, so he immediately replied with a smiling face icon and closed the message receiving window.
"Fireball! Ah, spit!" Gu Fei just yelled and immediately realized that this name couldn't be called casually.
Even so, Fireball had already risen up in front of him, and it also made the Fireball beside him unhappy: "Who are you cursing!"
"Slip of the tongue!" Gu Fei said, "But your name is too inconvenient, we have to think of a code name!"
Fireball, as usual, cursed the guy who gave him the name one hundred and eighty times before responding to Gu Fei's call: "Just call me Little Fire."
"Little Fire... well, let's just make do with that for now!" Gu Fei said.
The two of them spoke as they walked towards the outside of the city, and Fireball suddenly remembered something: "Drunk Bro..."
"Hmm?"
"That drink we had just now, you seemed to say you were treating, but you suddenly ran away, and I paid the bill!!" Fireball said.
"Is that so? Then I'll treat you next time?" Gu Fei didn't care.
"Why do I feel like you're going to weasel out of it?" Fireball's sense of crisis was quite strong.
"How could that be! Do I look like that kind of shameless person?" Gu Fei said.
"I didn't think so originally, but now, the more I look at you, the more you look like it," Fireball said worriedly.
"Actually, I don't like bullying strangers," Gu Fei smiled, "But I like taking advantage of acquaintances!"
