Chapter 512: A Bold and Firm Declaration!

Chapter 512

"Oh boy, you really caused a lot of trouble here." Dame said as he walked over with Finn by his side, both of them staring at the carnage Grey had left behind.

"Yeah, sorry about that. Needed a way to call you down here and in the process, I almost ended up killing all the beasts here." Grey admitted as he rubbed the edge of his hood nervously, his voice carrying a slight awkwardness.

"It’s fine. As long as the boss is still alive, the beasts will reproduce again." Dame replied with a warm smile on his face.

Then he tilted his head slightly, his eyes shifting towards Thalos who was still crouched on the ground, actively working to extract beast cores without even batting an eyelid at the new arrivals.

"Huh? Seems like you brought your sidekick along." Dame muttered with a soft chuckle.

The words made Thalos freeze for a second, a vein bulging across his forehead. His jaw tightened and his frown deepened as he glared at Dame, irritation flashing in his eyes.

A muffled sound came from Grey, but no one could tell what it was since his face was hidden under the hood. In truth, the Supreme Magus was barely holding back his laughter at Dame’s remark. His shoulders even trembled slightly as he swallowed down the laugh that almost escaped.

Clearing his throat quickly to cover it up, Grey straightened and spoke.

"Sorry to bother you, but I need a favour from you. Again."

"Favour?" Dame raised a brow, though an almost invisible smile tugged at the corner of his lips for just a second before disappearing.

"Yeah. I need two things. A place to crash for maybe a week or so, and then some equipment. I mean weapons that aren’t useful to you anymore, along with a few beast cores. I want to experiment on something." Grey stated firmly.

’The Supreme Magus wants to experiment? Heck yes! This might actually turn into something worthwhile. I might finally get something good out of this deal.’ Dame thought to himself, his grin threatening to break out again.

"I can surely get the first favour done, no problem. But the second might be a little hard." Dame muttered as he stroked his chin, pretending to be deep in thought.

"I will create more pills for you in exchange for this favour." Grey cut in sharply.

The moment those words dropped, Dame’s grin widened so much it looked like his face was stretching to its limits.

’Finally! I’ll get more pills to present to Alba, and we’ll sell them together. This couldn’t have gone any better.’

"Deal." Dame said without hesitation, extending his hand. Grey accepted the handshake firmly, both men locking eyes for a brief second.

"One more thing," Grey added as he withdrew his hand. "Kindly throw in a few coins into the mix. I would like to go shopping when I get to town."

"Consider it done." Dame replied without pause before turning around. "Let’s go." He motioned with his head, and they all began walking together towards the portal that would lead them back to the Noxarian faction.

Within a few minutes of traveling through winding streets and darkened paths, Dame finally brought them to the same inn Grey had used the last time he visited. Though Grey was given a different room this time, it was still decent enough to fit two people comfortably.

"Here you go." Dame said, tossing over a small pouch which Grey caught and shook lightly. The jingling sound brought a small smirk to his face.

Opening it, he quickly counted inwardly. ’Ten silver coins.’

"I hope it’s enough for what you want it for." Dame said with a nervous chuckle, watching carefully for Grey’s reaction.

Grey lifted his head and gave a slight nod of approval.

"Great then. I and Finn will go get the equipment you need ready for you. Kindly please don’t cause any trouble if you are out in town." Dame pleaded when he heard the Supreme Magus sigh.

"I will try my best." Grey replied with a casual thumbs up.

Thalos nearly choked when he heard that. ’No he won’t! This dude is a walking human magnet for trouble and chaos. He attracts it like fire attracts moths. I’m sure today will be no different.’ He sighed inwardly, watching Dame and Finn exit the room, leaving him alone with Grey and the pouch of coins.

"Alright then," Grey began as he watched the door close, then turned towards Thalos. "How many cores did we get from that ruckus?"

"Eighty." Thalos replied with a small frown still lingering on his face.

Grey stretched out his hand expectantly. Thalos sighed heavily before pulling out a small pouch and handing it over to the Supreme Magus.

Grey opened it up, quickly counting the contents before splitting the beast cores into two neat piles. One had fifty, the other had thirty. With calm precision, he stored the thirty cores into his pendant while returning the remaining fifty into the pouch.

"What was that for?" Thalos asked with a raised brow, his wings twitching slightly.

"I made a promise to Dame, and I intend to fulfill it. After receiving that money from him, I just realized something important." Grey exhaled deeply, rubbing the side of his head as though burdened by the thought.

"And which is?" Thalos pressed, his curiosity piqued.

"I need money. I’ve been in this world for months now and I don’t even have a cent to my name. I can’t keep going around penniless like some beggar. If I don’t start building my wealth now, I’ll be doomed sooner or later." Grey muttered, pulling down his hood so he could rub his temples properly.

Thalos’ frown deepened. "So what do you want to do now?" He asked, noticing the flicker of a smile flash across Grey’s face.

"I think it’s time I begin selling these pills. And it will do two things for me." Grey’s tone was steady, yet there was a dangerous glint of ambition in his eyes.

"Which are?" The gargoyle asked, now suddenly intrigued despite himself.

Grey calmly brought out one of his pills, the faint glow from it illuminating his fingers. The pill shimmered faintly as he tilted it upwards, revealing the small yet bold brand mark carved into it—his name. He lifted it up proudly with a smirk stretching across his lips.

"Firstly, these pills will get me the money I desperately need. Secondly, and more importantly, they’ll carry my name—the name of the Supreme Magus throughout the entire Noxarian faction.

And slowly, that influence will spread beyond here, reaching other factions. Very soon, as the only one who can produce these pills, with no one able to replicate them, my name—the Supreme Magus will echo across the entire Vayun world."

His voice grew firmer with each word, conviction seeping into every syllable.

"That is how legends are born. That is how the most powerful rise. I am not here to play servant or slave to anyone. I intend to make every single person tremble beneath me. And these pills..." Grey lifted the pill higher for emphasis before tossing it back into his pendant, "these pills will be the foundation of that rule."

His declaration rang with boldness, and for a moment, even Thalos could feel the weight of the ambition radiating from him.

Grey turned with a wide smile, the hunger for domination burning in his gaze.

"Come on," he said, clapping Thalos lightly on the shoulder. "Let’s go shopping."
