Chapter 267: Chapter 277: If I’m Not Happy, Neither Can You Be.
Han Xi took the slippers from Sister Zhang and put them on: "I got off work early today, I’ll go to the supermarket to buy groceries and cook dinner with you."
"How can that be? I’ll take care of buying groceries and cooking. Madam, you should rest for a while."
Sister Zhang knew that Han Xi wasn’t spoiled like those wealthy wives, but she couldn’t let her help with these tasks.
"Sister Zhang, I managed to get off work early, just so I can make dinner for Jing Han."
Han Xi smiled as she hung her shoulder bag on the coat rack above the shoe cabinet: "I’ll take a shower first, then I’ll head to the supermarket. When I get back, help me cook. I’m afraid I can’t manage everything by myself."
"Alright, alright, madam, I’ll listen to you."
Han Xi returned to the room, took a warm shower in the bathroom, changed clothes, and then went downstairs.
The weather outside was a bit gloomy, looking like it was going to rain, so Han Xi put on a jacket and went out.
She didn’t drive since there was a supermarket just outside the neighborhood, only a ten-minute walk away.
Han Xi suddenly remembered she hadn’t told Lu Jinghan she was already home, so she took out her phone and sent him a text, saying she got off work early today and he didn’t need to pick her up from the hospital.
After putting her phone back in her pocket, Han Xi tightened her jacket as the cool wind blew her long hair into disarray. She raised her hand to tuck the messy strands behind her ear and quickened her pace.
The supermarket was quite crowded. Han Xi pushed a shopping cart through the vegetable and meat sections, buying a lot of the foods Lu Jinghan usually likes. After checking out, Han Xi walked out of the supermarket with a large bag full of groceries.
When she came out, it was already drizzling outside. Han Xi hadn’t brought an umbrella, so she jogged back towards the neighborhood.
She was so focused on watching the road that she didn’t notice someone suddenly rushing out, and in her haste, she bumped into them, almost stumbling.
"Sorry...." The moment Han Xi looked up, her expression changed.
Lin Weiyang stood in front of Han Xi with her arms crossed, looking aggressive, her eyes glinting with a poisonous and somewhat terrifying gaze.
Han Xi didn’t plan to engage with her and took a step to the right with her groceries, but Lin Weiyang blocked her path.
"What do you want this time?"
Lin Weiyang sneered with her red lips, her voice sharp and piercing: "What do I want? You took my man and you ask what I want?"
Lin Weiyang had seen the photos of Han Xi and Lu Jinghan kissing in Lin City, which is why she came to confront Han Xi.
"Lin Weiyang, Lu Jinghan is my husband, and whether you accept it or not, it’s an undeniable fact. If he was meant for you, he would come to you without any struggle or interference. Why cling so tenaciously and keep bothering me? If Jing Han finds out, he’ll only dislike you more."
Han Xi’s hair was already wet from the rain, and her makeup-free face remained calm and unruffled.
Lin Weiyang laughed coldly under her umbrella, her laughter chilling: "If you hadn’t appeared, he wouldn’t have left me. All the torment I’m suffering now is because of you. I will keep bothering you. If I can’t have peace, neither will you."
"Your suffering isn’t caused by me; it’s your own obsession. Knowing you can’t have him yet still pursuing relentlessly—what’s the point?"
Lin Weiyang sneered, taking out a cigarette and lighting it from her pocket. Her nail-polished fingers brought the cigarette to her lips, and white smoke seeped from the corner of her red mouth.
