Chapter 313: Chapter 326: Why Are You Nervous?

After dinner, Song Mingyuan pulled Han Xi to sit down in front of the sofa. He looked at Lu Jinghan with a big smile and said, "Jing Han, I heard from Song Yan that you and Xiao Xi have only got the certificate but haven’t held a wedding yet."

As expected, both father and brother are truly family; the first thing they focus on with Lu Jinghan is the wedding. They definitely don’t want Han Xi to feel aggrieved.

"The wedding is almost prepared," Lu Jinghan replied.

Actually, when Song Yan first asked Lu Jinghan this question, he was already preparing. He just didn’t know Song Yan’s true identity back then, nor his purpose for asking, so Lu Jinghan didn’t mention it.

Now that Song Mingyuan asked, he naturally had no reason not to say anything.

Han Xi looked at Lu Jinghan with some surprise, her clear pupils filled with unexpected joy: "Why didn’t you tell me?"

"I originally wanted to surprise you, but since Dad and Brother both asked about the wedding, I had no choice but to say it," Lu Jinghan said with a smile, holding the girl’s hand.

"Before, I thought you didn’t plan to give our Xiao Xi a wedding. Even if you treated her well, I couldn’t feel assured handing her over to you. Now it seems I was overthinking."

The only thing Song Yan wasn’t satisfied with during his time in An City was that Lu Jinghan hadn’t held a wedding with Han Xi.

Song Mingyuan looked at Lu Jinghan with a grin: "Then I’ll wait to return to the United States after your wedding. I have to personally hand this girl over to you to feel at ease."

Han Xi suddenly felt very happy. She had a husband who loved her and a father and brother who cared for her so much.

This kind of happiness was something she never dared to imagine in recent years, not even in her dreams.

They chatted for a long time before Song Mingyuan and Song Yan drove off together. Han Xi initially wanted them to stay, but Song Yan said he didn’t want to be a third wheel for the newlyweds, so they left.

After seeing them off, Han Xi felt a bit tired and went back to the bedroom first.

After showering in the bathroom, Han Xi put on her pajamas, took a book from the nightstand drawer, and sat on the sofa beside the floor-to-ceiling window. She smiled softly at the brightly lit night view outside.

Luckily, Song Mingyuan and Song Yan found her, otherwise, she might never have known who her biological father was or that she had a brother.

Han Xi looked up at the bright stars in the sky and spoke to herself: "Mom, you must be able to see this, right? I’m very happy now, so you can be at ease."

When Lu Jinghan finished his work and returned to the bedroom, Han Xi was sitting on the sofa reading. She was so engrossed in her book that she didn’t even notice Lu Jinghan come in.

After watching her for a while at the door, Lu Jinghan walked over: "It’s late. Let’s go to sleep."

Hearing his voice, Han Xi looked up and closed the book casually: "You finished all your work?"

"All done," he replied.

Han Xi nodded, went to the bed, lifted the covers, and lay down: "Ah... what are you doing..."

.........

When Han Xi woke up the next morning, Lu Jinghan was no longer in the bedroom. She got out of bed, put on her slippers, and walked to the balcony to open the window.

A cool breeze blew in through the open window, making Han Xi shiver involuntarily.

Lu Jinghan opened the bedroom door, frowned, and walked over: "Why did you open the window? You’ll catch a cold."

Han Xi’s unadorned cheeks turned a shade of red, and her voice was as small as a mosquito’s: "Last night... just wanted some fresh air."

With a smile at the corner of his mouth, Lu Jinghan pinched Han Xi’s nose and closed the window with the other hand: "Sister Zhang will only start cleaning the room after nine. What are you nervous about?"
