Chapter 320: Bitter Meals

Chapter 320: Chapter 320: Bitter Meals

Ella Weaver left, her car roared through the night, as if venting her anger.

Isabella Weaver heard her say that Harry Hunter and Shiely Morrison are alive, and her unease finally eased a bit.

Blood dripped from Alexander Parker’s chin, leaving a trail of mottled stains as he moved.

He picked up the food box, brought it into the house, grabbed a towel to wet and wipe his face and hands, turned on the kettle to boil water, then took ice from the freezer and wrapped it in a towel to cold compress the wound on his head. Once the bleeding stopped, he went back outside to stand in front of Isabella Weaver.

Isabella Weaver involuntarily stepped back two paces.

Alexander Parker’s voice was hoarse: "Come here!"

Isabella Weaver didn’t come over, instead retreated another two steps.

She had just hit him, and she knew how hard she had struck him; it was impossible for him not to be angry!

"I’m not angry."

Alexander Parker seemed to possess the Mind Reading Technique: "I bit my cousin, she hits me once, we’re even, be good, come eat."

"When will you let me go?"

"I won’t let you go this time."

He walked over, grabbed Isabella Weaver’s wrist, and pulled her into the house: "But if you want to escape, at least eat something to have the strength to run."

Isabella Weaver was pulled to sit at the small table, watching him take out food from the big food box, not moving.

"You eat first!"

"Afraid I’ll drug you?"

Alexander Parker’s voice resumed its gentle tone, softly said: "I wouldn’t, there’s no need."

Although he said that, he still tasted every dish and drank the water to prove that they were safe.

Isabella Weaver really was starving, and in such circumstances, she needed to keep up her strength.

She picked up the chopsticks and began to eat.

But halfway through, she suddenly frowned: "Why do all these dishes taste a bit bitter?"

At first it wasn’t noticeable, but the more she ate, the more she sensed a bitter taste, though faint, it was definitely there!

"I didn’t notice, is cousin overly suspicious, overthinking?"

Alexander Parker laughed softly, "If you’re worried, eat less and drink more water, is the water bitter?"

Isabella Weaver tasted it carefully and shook her head: "The water’s not bitter."

The food was brought by Ella Weaver, and Isabella Weaver’s suspicion grew, so she refused to eat more.

Alexander Parker continued to eat; he hadn’t eaten much recently, but with Isabella Weaver beside him, his appetite improved greatly.

Isabella Weaver suddenly pressed his hand: "Cousin, stop eating, it’s really bitter."

Alexander Parker looked at her, his eyes gradually brightened: "Okay, I won’t eat."

"Did you spare my mom and Harry Hunter?"

"I promised you, as long as you signed the divorce agreement, I would release them, didn’t you sign?"

"Where is my mom then? Is she with Christopher Weaver?"

"Of course not, she’s with my people, Christopher Weaver definitely won’t find her."

"What about Harry Hunter?"

"He should be looking everywhere for you."

Isabella Weaver sighed in relief, she finally asked everything, and he still had some sense!

Her heart settled down, and she drank a large cup of hot water.

"Cousin, didn’t you eat enough?"

Alexander Parker led her hand outside: "This family used to keep chickens, there should be eggs, let’s find some and cook them for you."

Surely she can’t suspect there’d be drugs inside, right?

Isabella Weaver followed him outside without hesitation, maybe while he’s not paying attention, she might just seize the chance to escape!
