Chapter 381 Disappointment

Chapter 381: Chapter 381 Disappointment

Isabella Weaver had just hung up Alexander Parker’s call when she received a text from Harry Hunter, along with a missed call record.

"Who were you talking to on the phone?"

Isabella took a sharp breath!

Could it really be such a coincidence?

The call with Alexander Parker lasted less than half a minute, and Harry Hunter just happened to call?

Feeling both headache and anger, she typed back: "None of your business!"

"I just left, and you immediately call Alexander Parker! Fine! Isabella Weaver, just you wait!"

"What? Are you going to hit me?"

"I’ll deal with you when I get back tonight! You’ll be bedridden the next day!"

Isabella hurriedly covered her phone, noticing everyone in the room was engrossed in conversation and no one paid her any mind, she bit her lip and replied with two words: "Bastard!"

Natalie Niles asked Harry Hunter several questions, but he didn’t respond.

She was invisible to him.

Beside him, she felt like air.

If only he would look at her a little more, talk to her a little more.

He was so handsome and perfect; why was it Isabella Weaver who had him? Why!

She had waited for so many years!

She thought that once she left the special forces, she could openly stay by his side!

But it seemed he had long forgotten her.

Natalie watched as Harry’s long fingers quickly typed on his phone, all his attention focused on it, and a surge of uncontrollable jealousy rose in her heart.

She couldn’t help but ask him: "Young Master Hunter, who are you chatting with?"

Harry finally looked up and glanced at her.

"Does your crime squad have no one else? Why did they send you?"

"Everyone’s busy with cases, and I’m relatively free."

"Johan Niles begged me to give you two days off, I agreed, so you can’t be Isabella’s bodyguard, but you can return as a detective?"

"No, Young Master!"

Natalie stood up in a bit of a flurry: "I can be Miss Weaver’s bodyguard! Just tell me if you need me!"

Harry frowned.

He was already in a bad mood, and now it got worse!

Natalie insisted on being a bodyguard, and Johan Niles was constantly urging him to treat his sister well, especially after Natalie got injured, he wouldn’t stop complaining.

They were all acquaintances, so Harry felt he could trust them, and having them around was reassuring.

But now, he felt he was wrong.

Not everyone could be Connor, he could never find another Connor.

Natalie’s skills were among the top for women, and Harry seriously considered grooming her as another Connor, hoping she could be Isabella’s Connor.

But he was disappointed.

Natalie didn’t meet the standard!

Her performance was erratic, her speech carried a proud tone, she never really saw herself as a bodyguard.

Her inherent arrogance was something she couldn’t hide, no matter how humble she tried to appear!

This easily reminded Harry of Cherry Lewis!

They had astonishing similarities in certain areas!

Harry’s mood plummeted to the bottom.

He stood up and walked out with a cold expression.

Connor approached, loyally following him like a shadow.

Natalie watched Harry’s figure from behind, her fingers clenching tightly, an undisguisable sense of defeat on her face.

She couldn’t see through this man’s heart, she just couldn’t get into his world!

The night was dark, and Harry walked in the darkness, his leather shoes making a dull sound.

"Young Master, you haven’t had dinner yet, shall I get you something to eat?"

"No need."

"Then shall we go home?"

"Not going back."

Connor, knowing he was in a bad mood, also fell silent.

After a long while, he finally heard Harry’s faint voice in the darkness:

"Connor, never leave me."
