Chapter 373: Chapter 373: Joint Burial
Connor still informed Isabella Weaver about Alexander Parker waking up.
As soon as Isabella heard this, she was furious: "When is he well? I’ll go beat him up! My mom is still missing!"
Harry Hunter rarely saw her so agitated, and he couldn’t help but chuckle lightly: "My people have already found traces of your mother, and we estimate we can bring her back soon."
Isabella was pleasantly surprised: "Really?"
Harry’s efficiency was indeed very high!
She hugged Harry’s neck and gave him a kiss: "Thank you!"
Harry enjoyed the soft and tender lips pressing against him, and he almost melted.
After a long time, he said: "Today is the funeral for my dad. Do you want to go?"
Isabella paused for a moment and nodded: "I want to go."
She looked at Harry’s face but couldn’t discern his emotions, yet she still hugged him to comfort him: "If you feel bad, just say it, don’t keep it all inside."
"No."
Harry’s voice was faint, "Don’t worry about me, I’m fine."
He wasn’t grieving inside; he just felt frustrated.
His mother’s side of things was still unresolved, and Leon Hunter was already dead!
He felt like he punched cotton, stifled and annoyed!
Leon must have had some major secret, causing Austin Winters to risk losing his biggest leverage in the Hunter Family to kill him!
But after days of interrogation, they yielded no results!
Austin Winters was tougher and more enduring than Harry had imagined, completely different from the weakling he usually presented himself to be!
At ten in the morning, Leon’s ashes were officially laid to rest.
The funeral was kept simple; Ben Hunter didn’t invite outsiders. Leon’s death wasn’t glamorous, it involved complications that could affect the Star Region Group’s stock price.
His death had not yet been announced.
Harry had arranged for Leon and his mother to be buried together in the Hunter Family ancestral cemetery.
Ben Hunter had already moved past the grief of losing his son, frowning at the elderly woman on the verge of fainting from crying, and waved for someone to take her away.
He then said: "Harry, your mom may not necessarily want to be buried with your dad."
Harry looked indifferent: "He couldn’t be my mom’s person in life, but he must be her ghost in death!"
How could his mother not want to be buried with Leon? She gave him everything she could while alive, and even in her last moment she didn’t regret marrying him, so silly!
With the burial complete, Harry pulled Isabella and knelt before the grave.
"Mom, I’ve sent dad to your side. If you want him, take him; if not, kick him away and find a young, handsome ghost instead."
Ben stood to the side, glaring: "What nonsense are you talking about!"
"Mom, this is your daughter-in-law beside me. She’s a bit like you, very pretty, and she loves me. You can rest assured."
Ben couldn’t help but look at Isabella, like what? What’s his grandson’s perception here!
Isabella followed Harry and paid respect to her mother-in-law, calling out bright and clear, without hesitation: "Mom, I will take good care of Harry, please rest assured!"
Ben scratched his head, the young girl was quite straightforward, not the least bit bashful. Wouldn’t it be nice if someone paid respect like this in front of his grave when he’s gone!
Alas, still too few children, the Hunter Family has always had a thin lineage, now just the single heir, Harry.
He looked at Isabella’s small frame, the young girl was only nineteen, every time he urged her to have children, he did so with guilt.
But who can understand his feelings?
Ben gazed afar at the Hunter Family ancestral cemetery, the gravestones there etched with the glorious achievements of the family’s generations.
He needed to see the birth of a new generation at least before daring to go down there and meet his ancestors!
