Chapter 649: Chapter 295: Torch Fast Ship_3
Another area was entirely dedicated to nodding donkeys, which had been isolated already. Turning my head, I spotted a few elks running out from the forest, shaking their heads curiously as they looked this way.
The Beggar Gang Disciples stationed at the Estate Ranch came out upon hearing the noise, followed by several Labrador puppies.
Seeing the Black Hawk Helicopter landing on the grounds, they were suspicious and wondered if it was some military force making an emergency landing. But as soon as they recognized the familiar General Sect Leader and Sieg, they relaxed and greeted them warmly.
“Boss, what brings you over at this time?”
“What, do I need to give a heads up before coming to my own place?” Allen Zhang laughed. “There was a little scheduling issue; we’ve just come from Texas after handling some matters. Is this Old Karl’s pet that has been sent over?”
The General Sect Leader looked at the shiny and smooth Labrador puppies, bent down, and lifted one from the ground. The poor little guy, hanging in the air by its neck, was terrified, yelping chaotically, nearly scared to pee.
“How is this little thing supposed to help guard the ranch?” Allen Zhang was amused.
“It’s still young; give it a few months to grow. Mr. Carl also has professional dog trainers who can help us train these hunting dogs,” the Beggar Gang Disciple explained.
Allen Zhang nodded and let the Labrador puppy go.
“Mr. Carl has also sent you 20 pairs of male and female elks, 20 pairs of North American gray rabbits, and 4 pairs of red foxes. Additionally, he gifted you two retired Quarter Horses from the Texas ‘Golden Ranch,’ bred from racing stock,” explained the Beggar Gang Disciple, then led the General Sect Leader to the stables. Pushing open the door, indeed, there were two brown horses standing upright, sleeping with their eyes closed.
One of the horses had a white blaze on its forehead, as if it had a third eye. The other’d all four hooves covered in white fur.
“Do they have names?” Allen Zhang, familiar with Texas racing history and horse breeds, recognized that both Quarter Horses were indeed retirees, but they appeared to have retired normally, without any injuries.
The reason they were sleeping standing up was simply due to distrust and wariness of the new environment. After a while, they should be seen lying down to sleep, maybe even stretched out.
“The one with the white blaze on its forehead is Torch; he has a hot temper. He participated in the Texas Bonfire Club’s private races in 2021 and 2022, achieving third and fourth place respectively. The one with white hooves is Fast Ship, she’s a girl, six and a half years old. In terms of a Quarter Horse’s lifespan, she can live to 25-30 years and is still in her teens, quite mischievous and not fully trained. She only raced twice without winning any titles and doesn’t follow commands well. She won’t mature until around ten years old.”
“Not bad. Let’s not disturb them.”
Allen Zhang nodded appreciatively and turned to leave the stables. “Have we hired a caretaker to feed them? They should get the best-quality fodder.”
“Mr. Carl has arranged for professional care from the local town to feed them,” the Beggar Gang Disciple answered.
Allen Zhang nodded in satisfaction and continued touring the ranch’s construction. He visited the lake fishing area, the shooting range, the air-raid shelter, and the wireless network infrastructure.
In the forest, he noticed the figure of a red fox and some North American gray rabbits; nearly each animal had a subcutaneous tracker, so there was no worry about losing them.
The “Wizard” team previously recruited by the General Sect Leader was also there. The girl skilled in voodoo and cursing had now switched paths to help ensure the General Sect Leader’s Estate Ranch thrives better and better.
