Emerging from Shen Su's residence, Feng Feng found herself disoriented. After plugging her phone in to charge and activating the navigation, she made her way back to her apartment.
Feng Feng felt utterly drained, driving at a snail's pace. Fortunately, no incidents occurred on the road, and she finally arrived home safely. Upon returning, she meticulously prepared a hot bath. Afterward, feeling much more comfortable, Feng Feng sat on the sofa to drink some water and opened WeChat. To her surprise, she discovered that Lin Mei and Lan Lan had exchanged numerous messages in their group chat since last night.
Many of these messages mentioned her, with the two of them tagging her multiple times. However, this was the first time she had opened WeChat since last night.
The conversation had initially been sparked by Lan Lan, who posted an ultrasound report in the group. The results indicated she was pregnant. Lan Lan then added, "Damn, still a bit nervous."
Later, Lin Mei joined in, sharing a wealth of experience with Lan Lan. They even arranged to go shopping together today and then began tagging Feng Feng, inviting her along.
After reviewing hundreds of chat records, Feng Feng posted a message in the group: "I just saw this. You guys have fun, I want to sleep today."
As soon as the message was sent, Lan Lan immediately responded, "Confess, where were you last night!"
Feng Feng knew this was something she couldn't hide. She typically wouldn't go this long without checking WeChat, if only for work reasons. After a moment of deliberation, Feng Feng directly explained what had happened the previous night, "After work yesterday, I happened to run into Shen Su."
A few seconds later, messages from Lan Lan and Lin Mei arrived simultaneously: "You were together all night?"
Feng Feng: "Mm."
Lin Mei: "Did you tell him? What was his attitude?"
Feng Feng: "He didn't say much, neither agreeing nor refusing."
Lan Lan: "He sure knows how to keep you guessing."
Lan Lan's assessment was accurate, but Feng Feng didn't blame Shen Su for it. She had been the one to initiate things, and she couldn't morally pressure him just because she was pursuing him. After a few more exchanges in the group chat, Feng Feng learned that Lan Lan and Lin Mei were currently together.
After some discussion, they decided to come over to Feng Feng's place to talk in person. They arrived around lunchtime, and the three of them ordered takeout, sitting down in Feng Feng's apartment dining room.
Feng Feng was wearing a yoga outfit at home. The neckline of her top was quite low, revealing the marks on her neck and chest quite clearly. She didn't make any particular effort to conceal them in front of Lin Mei and Lan Lan.
Lan Lan noticed these marks as soon as she entered. During the meal, she teased, "You two were like dry firewood and raging flames, quite intense."
Lin Mei also expressed surprise, "How did it start? Who made the first move?"
Feng Feng considered her words carefully, "I guess it was me."
While eating, Feng Feng spent over ten minutes recounting her evening of drinking with Shen Su and then going home with him.
Lin Mei had previously heard from Xing Zheng that Shen Su was interested in Feng Feng. However, his current actions were perplexing, "Do you think he likes you?"
Feng Feng pondered, "Maybe a little interested, but not that far."
Lin Mei frowned and told her, "I had Xing Zheng subtly probe Shen Su. Shen Su still hasn't let go of you, but I don't know what his intentions are now…"
In Lin Mei's opinion, if Shen Su still had feelings for Feng Feng, then when Feng Feng expressed her interest, they should have hit it off immediately. Yet, Shen Su hadn't given a definitive answer.
"What's so hard to understand about this!" Lan Lan took a sip of her drink. "It's obvious Shen Su is playing hard to get. Men can be so petty. He pursued Ms. Feng for a while before, and now that Ms. Feng has made the first move, he's finally in a position to gloat. Of course, he's going to enjoy it."
Lin Mei looked enlightened and nodded. Seeing her reaction, Lan Lan couldn't help but laugh, "With your level, no wonder your Xing Zheng has you wrapped around his finger."
Lin Mei joined in the laughter, not disagreeing with that assessment. Her 'level' was indeed the lowest among the three. Although Feng Feng lacked extensive experience, she was naturally more detached and composed. Lan Lan, on the other hand, had honed her skills through abundant experience, becoming a seasoned player. Most people were no match for her.
Feng Feng also found Lan Lan's analysis to be reasonable. However, Shen Su outwardly appeared very magnanimous. Perhaps he didn't fully believe she liked him yet. Feng Feng toyed with her water glass and said, "I'm not in a hurry, we'll take it slow."
Lan Lan advised, "He's not going anywhere anyway. Don't let him have all the fun playing hard to get, you try it too."
For the next while, Lan Lan was busy giving Feng Feng advice, which Feng Feng listened to intently. Lin Mei, meanwhile, was left bewildered. When the topic concluded, Feng Feng and Lin Mei exchanged glances and said in unison, "Liang Yu Feng is so pitiful, being completely dominated by you."
Lan Lan, however, was quite pleased with herself. "What can I say? He's just unlucky to have met someone like me, who's so skilled, as soon as he started dating. He's destined to be a step behind me for life."
With that, the conversation naturally shifted to Lan Lan. Feng Feng remembered her pregnancy and her gaze fell on Lan Lan's abdomen, "How does it feel to be pregnant?"
Lan Lan replied, "I don't feel much, just that my period was late. I went for a check-up and found out I was pregnant. I hadn't even decided if I wanted it yet, but now Liang Yu Feng is thrilled."
Feng Feng gazed at Lan Lan's belly, lost in thought. After a pause, she said, "Having a child is also quite nice."
Hearing Feng Feng's words, Lan Lan raised an eyebrow, "Are you already considering having a baby with Shen Su? Ms. Feng, your thoughts are quite dangerous!"
As someone who had been through it, Lan Lan understood what such thoughts represented. She had had similar thoughts when she finally settled down and began relying on the "sense of security" Liang Yu Feng provided. Once the idea surfaced, it was impossible to retract.
In terms of their views on relationships, Lan Lan and Feng Feng were quite similar. Neither of them had particularly yearned for marriage since college. However, for people like them, once they decided to marry, nothing could sway them.
Feng Feng didn't deny the thought, pursing her lips. "We'll take it one step at a time."
Given their current relationship, discussing marriage and children was still too early. After all, Shen Su had explicitly stated his stance, saying he was a difficult person to pursue. Feng Feng hadn't yet experienced just how difficult.
On Saturday evening, Zhou Xuan sent Feng Feng a WeChat message. She had just returned from the no-man's-land and was inquiring about Feng Feng's recent situation. Seeing Zhou Xuan's message, Feng Feng remembered that she hadn't yet informed her parents about the breakup.
