Chapter 697 Do Not Beg for Mercy

Li Yue replied almost instantly: "Okay, I'll be right there."

Feng Feng replied, "Drive carefully," and put down her phone.

Ji Tong, guessing Feng Feng was messaging Li Yue, casually asked, "President Feng, are you happy with Li Yue?"

Feng Feng rarely discussed her personal relationships with work friends, but having opened up to Ji Tong today, she didn't hold back. "It's quite good. I feel very comfortable with him."

Ji Tong: "That's great. I wish you both happiness."

After a pause, Ji Tong added, "If you get married, remember to send me an invitation."

Feng Feng: "Okay, thank you."

Looking at the smile on Ji Tong's face, Feng Feng felt a sense of clarity. She thought that perhaps she had been overthinking things. Ji Tong wouldn't be bothered by her past with Shen Su; she was mature now and could distinguish right from wrong.

Although they had broken up, she had never spoken ill of Shen Su. Her earlier analysis was simply stating facts. Ji Tong was a good person and a friend worth having.

Not far away, Gu Song's gaze had been fixed on Feng Feng and Ji Tong. He had initially expected them to have an unpleasant interaction, but over ten minutes had passed without any friction between them. They had even smiled and clinked glasses, appearing to get along exceptionally well.

However, this only made Gu Song's headache worse. If there had been conflict, it could be argued that one of them still cared about Shen Su. But with nothing of the sort, did it mean neither of them cared about Shen Su anymore?

Gu Song had no idea how to explain this to Shen Su, especially since he had been keeping it a secret for so long.

Lost in these scattered thoughts, Gu Song even neglected his female companion. Naturally, she was unhappy but dared not complain.

Gu Song's mood reached its peak when he saw Li Yue approach. He rubbed his temples, thinking, "Do these two really have to be so affectionate, inseparable even for a moment?"

Never mind Shen Su; even as Shen Su's friend, seeing Feng Feng and Li Yue so close made him feel a sense of regret.

If one were to talk about devotion, Shen Su's devotion to her back then was no less than Li Yue's now. If Feng Feng desired this kind of intimate, attentive companionship, it was precisely what Shen Su excelled at. Moreover, objectively speaking, Shen Su was far superior to Li Yue. By any measure, it shouldn't have been Li Yue.

If Gu Song felt this way, Shen Su's imbalance was even more pronounced.

After Li Yue arrived, Feng Feng and Ji Tong chatted briefly before they left the restaurant together. Ji Tong took a taxi, while Li Yue got into Feng Feng's car to drive her home.

On the way back, Li Yue casually asked Feng Feng, "How was dinner?"

Feng Feng: "It was good, although there were some minor issues."

Li Yue: "I think I saw Mr. Gu there earlier."

Feng Feng smiled faintly and recounted the brief interlude to Li Yue. Perhaps because Li Yue had been so understanding before, she felt comfortable sharing everything with him.

Hearing about Ji Tong's reaction after learning the truth, and then recalling Ji Tong's calm demeanor, Li Yue seemed somewhat surprised.

Feng Feng, sensing his thoughts, asked with a smile, "Do you also think she might have been unhappy with me because of this?"

Li Yue shook his head. "Not to that extent, but I thought she might have felt a bit uncomfortable."

"That's why I admire her," Li Yue said. "She's someone with her own opinions and can discern right from wrong. I've always believed that women should prioritize their own feelings, no matter the time or place. If a relationship makes you uncomfortable, withdrawing from it is the best choice, regardless of what others say."

Feng Feng strongly agreed with Li Yue's sentiment. She thought that perhaps her willingness to be with Li Yue stemmed from her admiration for this very quality. Being with him was truly comfortable, making her feel a sense of "seize the day."

As Lan Lan had said, someone with a youthful, vibrant physicality, mature thoughts, and conduct was rare.

While waiting for the traffic light, Feng Feng suddenly placed her hand on Li Yue's, her slender fingers gently tracing the veins on the back of his hand.

This simple gesture, performed by her, was incredibly sensual, especially with her usual indifferent expression, which made it all the more contradictory and alluring.

Li Yue, aroused by her touch, found his voice growing husky. He looked down at her fingers. "You don't want me to keep driving, President Feng."

Feng Feng: "Is that all it takes?"

Li Yue: "President Feng, a man can't say no."

Feng Feng laughed at his words. "So you do care about that."

Li Yue: "Others might say they don't care, but when you say it, I care very much."

Feng Feng saw the light turn green ahead and withdrew her hand. She hadn't genuinely intended to escalate things. "Then prove it tonight."

As soon as she said that, Li Yue understood her meaning. "Don't beg for mercy."

Feng Feng: "That depends on your skill."

Li Yue pressed the accelerator, significantly increasing the car's speed. Although he didn't make any overt moves, Feng Feng saw him swallow and the visible movement of his Adam's apple, knowing he was close to his limit.

Upon returning to the apartment, as they entered the elevator, Feng Feng heard his breathing close to her ear. He was clearly struggling to contain himself but was holding back because she hadn't given the explicit signal.

Feng Feng leaned in with a smile and placed his hand on her chest. "You're quite restrained."

No matter how restrained he was, after her touch, he could no longer hold back.

Li Yue embraced her waist and kissed her deeply. They kissed as they exited the elevator. Feng Feng opened the door with her fingerprint, and the moment they stepped inside, Li Yue swept her onto the living room carpet.

Because of the unexpected turn of events that evening, Gu Song lost all inclination to spend the night with his female companion and sent her home after dinner.

On his way home, Gu Song pondered and decided it was best not to inform Shen Su about the matter for now. Shen Su was already in a fragile state, and knowing this would bring him no benefit.

However, Gu Song had not given up on the idea of speaking with Feng Feng privately. There were certain things she needed to know.

Therefore, on the way, Gu Song called Feng Feng again.

However, both calls went unanswered.

With no other recourse, Gu Song finally sent her a WeChat message: "President Feng, would you do me the honor of joining me for dinner at Ru Feng tomorrow evening? I have something very important to discuss with you."

Feng Feng realized that her words from earlier that evening had indeed ignited Li Yue's passion; he had already been with her three times and still wanted more.

Feng Feng, her back aching, pushed him away. He then went to take a shower.

Feng Feng lay in bed for over ten minutes, finally regaining some strength. She casually picked up her phone and saw Gu Song's WeChat message.

Feng Feng had no interest in meeting Gu Song; there was nothing for them to discuss.

Feng Feng replied, "If there's anything, please say it on WeChat."

Gu Song: "Is it really that difficult, President Feng? We're friends, after all. Is meeting up so hard?"

Feng Feng: "If you're not going to say it, I'm going to sleep."

Gu Song: "Don't sleep. I'll ask directly: do you still have feelings for Shen Su?"
