Tian Nan Lan

Chapter 618 The Black Forest

Shen Su was not a man who lacked women. Feng Feng did not believe that Shen Su truly loved her; perhaps he had simply never encountered a woman of her type.

Now that someone who bore a slight resemblance to her had appeared, and did not reject him, he had no reason to continue to linger around her. After all, no one was a masochist.

Shen Su had not come to find her this week, likely having cultivated feelings with Qiao Shu.

Lan Lan was not surprised by Feng Feng's composure. Having known each other for many years, the only time she had seen Feng Feng distressed was when Wen Zhouyuan got married. Otherwise, Feng Feng was like an emotionless robot.

Although she had not been in a serious relationship in years, she was not the type to be devastated over a man.

"If he doesn't come to you anymore because of this Qiao Shu, it's also a good thing," Lan Lan knew Feng Feng had wanted to draw a line with Shen Su for a long time.

Upon hearing this news, Feng Feng's mood was quite good. After having dinner with Lan Lan that evening, she went to a bar for a drink. Unexpectedly, they ran into Shen Su not long after they had sat down.

Shen Su had come with a few friends, and Qiao Shu was by his side. The two appeared very intimate, sitting together when they took their seats.

Feng Feng glanced over and saw the legendary Qiao Shu. The woman was wearing a black dress, her wavy hair cascading over her shoulders, her expression cool and distant. She did indeed resemble Feng Feng somewhat.

However, Qiao Shu's attitude towards Shen Su was much more enthusiastic, and the two were whispering to each other.

Feng Feng took a look and quickly averted her gaze, not going over to greet them.

After drinking two glasses of fruit wine, Feng Feng went to the restroom. When she came out, she encountered Shen Su and Qiao Shu.

Qiao Shu's hand was hooked around Shen Su's neck, and Shen Su had his arm around her waist. Their gazes were locked, their bodies pressed together, and they walked further inside, the sound of Shen Su's heavy breathing even audible.

In the bar's restroom, with a man and a woman alone, one could imagine what would happen next.

Shen Su had never been one to restrain himself in this regard. Feng Feng still remembered the scene she witnessed at an event in New York years ago, seeing him entangled with a woman in the corridor.

The restroom was not large, and the three of them inevitably came face to face. Feng Feng's gaze met Shen Su's, and she saw a clear and familiar desire in his amber eyes.

Feng Feng did not speak to Shen Su; the situation was not appropriate. She simply washed her hands and turned to leave.

When Feng Feng returned, Lan Lan looked at her watch and asked, "Why did you take so long? Was the restroom crowded?"

"Not really," Feng Feng said. "I just ran into a bit of a situation."

Lan Lan asked, "What happened?"

Feng Feng told Lan Lan about what had just occurred. Lan Lan was not surprised. "It seems you two are finally done for good this time."

Feng Feng nodded; it was likely so.

Feng Feng and Lan Lan spent over an hour at the bar. Later, Lan Lan received a call from Liang Yufeng, and they had to leave early.

Feng Feng returned to her apartment and took a shower. When she emerged, she received a message on WeChat from Wen Zhouyuan.

Wen Zhouyuan: [Happy birthday, have you had cake yet?]

If he hadn't asked, Feng Feng would not have remembered about the cake. Just as she was about to reply, Wen Zhouyuan sent another message: [The cake will arrive soon, remember to sign for it.]

Feng Feng: [Did you order it?]

Wen Zhouyuan: [I don't know if you still like Black Forest cake.]

Feng Feng looked at the message and fell silent.

A watch, a bag, and now a Black Forest cake. Indeed, everything was something she liked. Wen Zhouyuan was reminding her that he remembered her preferences clearly.

Even if he didn't express it directly, some meaning was already very clear.

Feng Feng replied with "Thank you."

A few minutes later, she heard the doorbell. She put down her phone and went to open the door.

However, standing outside was not a delivery person, but Shen Su.

He was still wearing the suit he had worn when they met at the bar that night, impeccably dressed, with his usual gentle smile. But Feng Feng could not offer him a pleasant expression.

She frowned. "Why are you here?" At this time, shouldn't he be spending a pleasant evening with Qiao Shu?

"Can't I come?" Shen Su asked with a smile. "Our relationship isn't over yet. I'm here to accompany you for your birthday, is there a problem?"

Ding.

Before Feng Feng could speak, the elevator suddenly stopped at this floor.

As the sound echoed, Shen Su and she both looked towards the elevator.

A delivery person emerged from the elevator, checked the door number, and asked, "Is this Ms. Feng Feng? This cake is ordered by Mr. Wen for you, please sign for it."

Mr. Wen?

Upon hearing these words, Shen Su's eyes narrowed. Before Feng Feng could move, he took the cake from the delivery person. "Thank you, I'll sign for her."

The delivery person did not suspect anything and was eager to deliver the next order. Only Feng Feng and Shen Su were left facing each other in the hallway.

Shen Su glanced at the cake in his hand. It was exquisitely packaged, with roses and a card. He chuckled softly. "Nice, very romantic."

"Want to eat it together? I haven't eaten dinner yet," Shen Su said, carrying the cake and naturally walking into Feng Feng's apartment.

His slippers were no longer in the house, so he walked barefoot to the coffee table, placed the cake down, and casually picked up the card.

The card bore Wen Zhouyuan's handwriting. After writing his birthday wishes, he had taken a photo and sent it to the cake shop to be printed.

[Happy birthday, the Black Forest cake I owed you back then, I wonder if it's still timely?]

Signed: Wen.

Shen Su finished reading the card and smiled again. Wen Zhouyuan, as Gu Song had said, was someone who didn't initiate, didn't refuse, and didn't take responsibility.

He was clearly trying to get back with Feng Feng now, but he was unwilling to say it directly, even writing a card in such a roundabout way. He didn't believe that someone as intelligent as Feng Feng wouldn't see through it.

Feng Feng had remained silent since entering the house. After Shen Su finished smiling, he handed her the card, but Feng Feng did not reach out to take it.

Shen Su asked, "Why aren't you looking? Should I read it to you?"

Without waiting for her answer, Shen Su began to read, "The Black Forest cake I owed you back then, I wonder if it's still timely?"

"That's enough," Feng Feng finally lost her patience and interrupted Shen Su.

"Is that enough?" Shen Su tossed the card aside. "Are you moved? A worthless cake can make Ms. Feng lose her composure."

"Did you come to see me about something?" Feng Feng asked Shen Su.

Shen Su replied, "Didn't I say? I came to accompany you for your birthday."

He crouched down, unwrapped the cake, and took out the accompanying candles and birthday hat.

Birthday hats were too childish, so Shen Su didn't put one on Feng Feng. He simply lit the candles and then turned off the living room lights.

The dim and ambiguous candlelight illuminated his handsome face.

Behind the warm candlelight was his captivating smile. He beckoned to her, "Come here, make a wish."

Feng Feng crouched down expressionlessly and blew out the candles.

She had never experienced this ritual of making a wish, and even if she had, it wouldn't have been with Shen Su.
