Lin Yan touched his nose, wondering if his acting was that bad.
He tapped on the remote's location, and the lights came back on.
As the lights illuminated, Lin Yan saw Su Mojin hanging on him again. The little girl's face still held a hint of fear, but she was clearly much better.
"How did the remote get into your hand?"
With the surroundings lit up, Su Mojin keenly noticed the remote in Lin Yan's hand.
"I just happened to grab it when I noticed the lights went out."
Lin Yan's expression remained unchanged.
"Really?"
Su Mojin tilted her head, looking at Lin Yan with a hint of disbelief.
"Really, do I have any reason to lie to you?"
Lin Yan subtly put the remote away.
Seeing that Lin Yan didn't look like he was lying, Su Mojin didn't dwell on it. She hugged the popcorn and sat in Lin Yan's lap, feeling a sense of security with a proper pillow. The movie continued, and Lin Yan sat beside her, accompanying his little girl.
With Lin Yan by her side, Su Mojin, though still a little scared, was much better than before. She occasionally fed Lin Yan some popcorn.
"Honey, should we send a message to Mom and Dad to have them send Yu An and Yu Ning back tomorrow?"
As the movie ended, Su Mojin brought up the children.
Lin Yan thought about it, realizing it was indeed time to remind them. Although their two little darlings could drink formula, it was best for them to have it only occasionally and to be with their mother.
Su Mojin searched for her phone for a while but couldn't find it. She simply grabbed Lin Yan's phone and sent a message to her parents. They were used to this, so it wasn't a big deal. Lin Yan's phone password was Su Mojin's birthday.
Originally, it was nothing, and Lin Yan didn't pay it any mind, but he forgot about one of his little habits.
"Hmm?"
As Su Mojin opened the phone, she happened to see the control page for their home appliances.
Seeing Su Mojin pick up and unlock his phone, Lin Yan also reacted.
It was bad.
"Alright, you lied to me."
Su Mojin bit Lin Yan's neck, intending to leave a hickey without a word.
As the saying goes, if a boyfriend isn't a little mischievous, life would indeed be much less interesting.
When Su Mojin finally let go, Lin Yan's neck already had several red marks. Lin Yan rubbed his slightly reddened neck and tapped Su Mojin's little head.
"I have to go out tomorrow, aren't you afraid people will see and laugh?"
"Hmph, who told you to scare me like that."
Lin Yan hadn't had any events for the past few days and didn't need to appear in front of the camera, otherwise Su Mojin wouldn't have done this.
"Alright, it's getting late, let's go to bed."
Glancing at the time, Lin Yan felt a bit sleepy.
"Okay."
Hearing this, Su Mojin also put away the popcorn, preparing to go to bed.
....................................................................
The next morning, as soon as dawn broke, Lin Yan rode the RC213VS to the Ducati training base. The bike had arrived in China with them yesterday. It had been restored to its original factory state, and Lin Yan had registered it so it could be legally ridden on the road.
"The new bikes, bring them out for me to see."
Arriving at the entrance of the pit garage, Lin Yan met Zhang Mingzhi, who was just coming out.
"Young Master, you're here."
Upon seeing Lin Yan, Zhang Mingzhi hurried over to greet him. He hadn't expected the young master to arrive so early.
"I'm in a hurry, get someone to bring the bikes out quickly."
"Oh, alright. Don't worry, Young Master, the bikes have already been prepared."
Zhang Mingzhi called out to the inside of the pit garage, and soon, four GP23s were neatly pushed out by the staff.
"Young Master, these two bikes have the latest frame. These two are from the older frame. For this upgrade, we've mainly adjusted the engine angle, as well as the size of the winglets and the front air intake..."
After the bikes were pushed out by the staff, Zhang Mingzhi began to introduce Lin Yan to the upgrades.
The GP23 this time was a major upgrade, featuring a brand-new engine, frame, swingarm, and aerodynamic fairings. With the Lin Corporation as the major sponsor, Zhang Mingzhi and his team had no idea what the budget limit was; they just spent.
Lin Yan walked up to the nearest bike and squatted down to take a look. The engine indeed had some minor changes, and its mounting angle had also shifted, tilting backward slightly. Tilting the engine backward could increase rear-wheel grip to some extent, but it would also slightly disrupt the overall balance, with both pros and cons.
Lin Yan then examined other areas and found quite a few modifications.
"What is this button?"
After inspecting everything, Lin Yan discovered something new.
"Young Master, this is a new technology from the R&D department. It's a button to adjust the front wheel's pneumatic suspension in corners."
"Current tests show that this function is effective. It allows the bike to lower itself in corners, reducing wheelies and thus improving exit speed. However..."
Seeing Lin Yan point to a button on the handlebars, Zhang Mingzhi began to explain.
Adjustable front suspension in corners?
Lin Yan took a step back and carefully examined the entire suspension. It looked no different from before, but within a short time, Lin Yan had a general understanding of what Zhang Mingzhi meant.
Factory bikes have electronically adjustable suspension, similar to pneumatic suspension in cars. With a button, the suspension height can be lowered, making the bike sit lower. However, this adjustment can only be made at the start.
All riders can lower the front and rear suspension at the start to increase the likelihood of wheelies, lowering the center of gravity for a faster start.
It seemed this function had been integrated into cornering.
Lin Yan pressed the button next to the handlebar, and the front suspension slightly lowered, causing the entire front of the bike to dip.
This upgrade surprised Lin Yan. The instrument panel originally had two buttons that controlled the chassis height adjustment at the start. This, however, was for use in corners. If the front suspension could automatically retract during acceleration out of a corner, the exit speed would indeed improve significantly.
"But it must be difficult for Loris and Ren Fei to adapt, right?"
Lin Yan voiced the latter half of Zhang Mingzhi's unspoken thought.
"Yes, that's right, Young Master. Ren Fei and Loris are finding it very difficult to adapt to this button."
Zhang Mingzhi nodded. Such a button would significantly divert the rider's focus during cornering. Factory bikes already require a lot of control, and if a rider has to divert their attention to operate this button while in a battle, it would undoubtedly increase the chance of mistakes.
"If they can't adapt, then let's create a program that makes it automatically function in specific corners."
Lin Yan proposed a new suggestion.
It was normal for them not to adapt. Even he was unsure about the concept of this feature. Whether he could adapt to it would depend on how the test ride went later.
