A group of people arrived on motorcycles, varying in engine size, with both men and women among them.
Seeing fellow motorcyclists, Su Mojin became visibly excited and turned to Lin Yan, saying animatedly.
Hearing his wife's voice, Lin Yan also noticed the group ahead.
There were six of them, three men and three women.
They appeared to be three couples, which was rather interesting.
However, Lin Yan felt he had seen the pink Horizon motorcycle somewhere before.
As they rounded a corner, the people ahead also noticed Lin Yan and his companion. One of them even turned back and waved at Lin Yan and his companion, making a strange gesture.
Lin Yan didn't understand it, but Su Mojin recognized the gesture as the recently popular biker wave.
Su Mojin mimicked the gesture back, leaving Lin Yan amused and bewildered. It was all so strange.
It felt like two chuunibyo teenagers greeting each other.
Subsequently, two of the six slowed down, as if waiting for Lin Yan and his companion. One of them was the person who had just waved.
"Hello there! Where are you guys heading?"
The man who had signaled them, riding a GSX250, slowed down and pulled alongside Lin Yan and his companion, asking.
"Still not sure, just cruising around!"
Lin Yan glanced at the motorcycle the other person was riding and replied casually. The man was riding a GSX250, and the female rider beside him, presumably his girlfriend, was also on a GSX250.
Upon closer inspection, the highest displacement motorcycle among them was a Yamaha R6.
It looked quite old, while the rest were smaller displacement bikes, including 400cc and 250cc models, and even a pink Horizon.
The pink Horizon and the R6 rode at the very front, ignoring Lin Yan and his companion, leading the way side-by-side.
Apart from the GSX250 owner who had greeted Lin Yan and his companion, the other two merely cast a glance at them.
"Is that so? Then would you be interested in joining us for a mountain run! As they say, riders are family! Let's have some fun together."
Hearing that they were just casually riding, the female rider next to them enthusiastically invited Su Mojin.
They were feeling a bit bored and wanted to invite anyone they saw riding a motorcycle, as more people made for a livelier atmosphere.
Mountain run?
Su Mojin blinked, not quite understanding, and turned to look at Lin Yan. What was a mountain run?
"It probably means riding on the mountain."
Lin Yan explained to his wife, guessing that was the meaning, as he wasn't very familiar with these popular online terms.
"Can we go then?"
Su Mojin whispered to Lin Yan. Hearing his explanation, she became curious about this mountain run.
Initially, Lin Yan hadn't planned to join this group. However, seeing the hopeful look in his wife's eyes, he agreed.
Seeing their reaction, the female rider teased them with a smile.
"So, the man makes the decisions in your family? In our family, I make all the decisions."
When the woman said this, the GSX250 owner beside her looked visibly uncomfortable.
Before Lin Yan could speak, Su Mojin quickly replied.
"Outside, my husband naturally makes the decisions. At home, he listens to me."
Her statement fully protected Lin Yan's dignity.
Indeed, her words made the GSX owner envious.
"A Cai, hurry up!"
Seeing them lagging behind, the person riding the R6 called out from the front.
As he turned back, he realized two new people had joined their group.
"Who are these two?"
"They're joining us for the mountain run."
In response to the R6 rider's question, the GSX250 owner, known as A Cai, replied.
"Are they capable? Don't bring anyone who will just slow us down, forcing me to stop and wait for them."
The R6 rider sized up Lin Yan and his companion as he spoke.
"It's fine, we'll look after them."
A Cai responded. It was evident that this young man was quite enthusiastic and possessed a special quality of being overly helpful.
Lin Yan frowned. The R6 rider was quite arrogant, while this GSX couple was quite interesting.
They seemed friendly, though such friendliness, in Lin Yan's experience after entering society, often bordered on naivety.
Lin Yan and his companion chatted as they followed behind.
Su Mojin rode alongside the female rider, who was quite adept at charming people. Within a few words, she had Su Mojin blushing, clearly an experienced conversationalist.
Lin Yan, on the other hand, chatted with the female rider's boyfriend, A Cai, in front. After some questioning,
Lin Yan learned that this group consisted of university students who all studied nearby.
They had originally planned to come yesterday morning, but one of them had an engagement that morning, which caused the delay until today. They had even taken a half-day leave for this.
"Which mountain are we going to?"
"Oh, we're planning to go to the mountain in the West District. The road is wide and safe there, although it can be crowded. We'll just ride slowly."
In response to Lin Yan's question, A Cai pointed towards the East District.
"Look behind us, quite a few people have already joined."
As he spoke, A Cai pointed behind them.
Hearing this, Lin Yan glanced back. Indeed, there were several groups of motorcyclists, and Li Wei's G-Wagon was obscured by the crowd of vehicles.
"Are they all here for the mountain run?"
"Yes, there are really few places to have fun around here. Only the mountains in the West District are relatively safe, so there are more people. Sometimes cars come too. Look, isn't that a G-Wagon behind us?"
Upon hearing this, Lin Yan did not mention that the G-Wagon was following them, deciding to remain cautious when traveling.
He stood up and looked towards the mountain ahead, wanting to assess its terrain. If the conditions weren't suitable, he would take Su Mojin away, as she was still a novice.
"Holy cow, buddy, be careful."
Seeing Lin Yan take his hands off the handlebars and stand up on his motorcycle, A Cai was startled and quickly reached out to help Lin Yan steady the handlebars.
Sensing the slight wobble of the bike, Lin Yan looked down and saw A Cai operating his own motorcycle with one hand while struggling to hold Lin Yan's handlebars with the other.
This guy was something else. Seeing this, Lin Yan, beneath his helmet, chuckled helplessly.
After a brief glance, Lin Yan sat back down on the seat, and A Cai finally breathed a sigh of relief.
"Buddy, you're amazing. This is the city, and you're riding on the outermost lane, yet you're so daring."
The four of them rode along the roadside, and Lin Yan was indeed in the outermost lane.
Lin Yan remained silent. This A Cai seemed to possess a certain naive innocence typical of university students, which in common parlance meant he was easily fooled.
After all, if not for this personality, he wouldn't have invited such strangers to join them for a mountain run.
