The entire aircraft had about twenty-odd seats, arranged in two rows on either side, with the remaining space dedicated to a lounge and dining area.
Lin Yan and Zhang Mingzhi sat at the very front of the two rows of seats.
Behind Zhang Mingzhi were Venarese and a group of staff. Zhang Mingzhi had brought almost all the remaining technicians from the base this time, numbering seven or eight, with half having already gone to Shanghai with Lun Si and Ren Fei.
Behind Lin Yan were Li Wei and the four new bodyguards. Lin Yan had brought them along this time as well.
Gu Yueyan, Feng Yueying, Xiao Lan, and the others were at the very back, chatting amongst themselves.
The atmosphere on the plane was relaxed, unlike the pre-race tension.
Lin Yan chatted with Zhang Mingzhi while watching the races, getting a simple understanding of the participating drivers' situations.
Since everyone hadn't eaten before boarding, Zhang Mingzhi had already notified the onboard chef to prepare meals. Soon, the flight attendants brought the food. This aircraft was equipped not only with flight attendants but also with essential personnel like chefs.
The food was good and nutritionally balanced.
The flight from Kyoto to Shanghai was not very long, only about two hours. After eating and chatting for a while, the plane landed at Shanghai Airport.
As one of China's major cities, Shanghai naturally had excellent scenery. As the plane approached Shanghai, Lin Yan saw many of its iconic skyscrapers reaching into the clouds.
The plane landed smoothly, and by the time everyone disembarked in Shanghai, it was already two o'clock in the afternoon.
The group emerged from the airport. Fortunately, Zhang Mingzhi had pre-rented two large vans and a truck, otherwise, the dozen or so people wouldn't have fit.
Lin Yan got into one of the vans. Li Wei replaced the original driver. With seven seats plus the four bodyguards, there was still one seat left. Just as Lin Yan was about to call Zhang Mingzhi to get in, Feng Yueying slid into the van and sat next to him.
"What, you don't welcome me?"
Seeing Lin Yan's strange look, Feng Yueying rolled her eyes. Lin Yan was speechless. It wasn't that it was inappropriate, but with a van full of men, why would she get in? However, seeing that Feng Yueying had already closed the door, Lin Yan didn't say anything further.
After Zhang Mingzhi and the others finished loading their luggage, one van took the lead, and Li Wei started the engine and followed behind, heading towards the pre-booked hotel. Everyone had been to Shanghai before, so they weren't particularly curious about the surrounding scenery.
All the way, Lin Yan was engrossed in his phone, looking up information, while Feng Yueying chattered incessantly beside him.
"I didn't realize you were so capable, the Isle of Man champion, much better than that damn Lun Si."
"Hey, are you so weak because you indulge too much..."
Shanghai was not much inferior to Kyoto, but the traffic in Shanghai was just as bad as in Kyoto. It took them a full hour and more to reach the hotel entrance. Along the way, Lin Yan endured over an hour of torment. Indeed, a woman's mouth could be both pleasing and annoying.
The hotel they booked was naturally a five-star hotel, but its scale was not as large as Jialin. Everyone's rooms were adjacent, all on the eighth floor.
Lun Si and Ren Fei were also at the hotel. Seeing Lin Yan and Zhang Mingzhi go upstairs, they both came out of their rooms, still in their pajamas. The other staff who had arrived earlier also came out of their rooms.
Ren Fei greeted Lin Yan, but Lun Si acted as if he hadn't seen Lin Yan and headed straight for Gu Yueyan, who had just arrived upstairs.
"Hey, Miss Yueyan, good afternoon." Lun Si spoke in somewhat broken Chinese. Today, perhaps because Gu Yueyan was present, Lun Si had even dressed up, styling his hair with wax and seemingly wearing perfume, which Lin Yan had smelled earlier.
"Good afternoon, Mr. Lun Si." Gu Yueyan smiled and replied to Lun Si's greeting. Although she wasn't very fond of Lun Si, he was a colleague, and she couldn't be too cold.
Hearing Gu Yueyan's reply, Lun Si's mood instantly improved.
"Miss Yueyan, I will apply to Mr. Zhang to continue being my exclusive model this time."
"Last time, with you by my side, I felt my car ran even faster."
Hearing this, Gu Yueyan frowned. She wasn't very fond of Lun Si because she found him a bit annoying and felt he always had some ill intentions towards her. Besides, Mr. Zhang Mingzhi seemed to have already made arrangements for Xiao Lan to be Lun Si's model.
"I will naturally follow Mr. Zhang's arrangements."
Upon hearing this, Lun Si was relieved. As long as Gu Yueyan didn't refuse, Zhang Mingzhi would likely not refuse either, especially since he was the main pillar of the Ducati team.
Upon arriving at the hotel, Lin Yan couldn't use the simulator for training. After finding his room, he took out the electronic key and swiped it to enter. The room was quite nice, about a hundred square meters. They hadn't booked presidential suites, as the budget wouldn't allow it; these were just high-end guest rooms. Lin Yan wasn't particularly picky. After entering, he tidied up and lay down on the bed, continuing to watch the races.
Gu Yueyan and Feng Yueying, however, had a much more relaxed time. After putting their luggage in their rooms, they went out together for sightseeing. Originally, Xiao Lan wasn't supposed to be part of this trip. Under normal circumstances, with only two drivers participating, Gu Yueyan and Feng Yueying would have been sufficient. But because of Lin Yan's unexpected participation, Xiao Lan was given a spot in the...
