Chapter 448 Gu Sinian Goes Missing (9)

What Ye Bai said felt like a fairy tale to Qi Zhenzhen. Yet, upon closer thought, it wasn't entirely unexpected. All living things have their own destinies. Humans have established their own lineage, multiplying generation after generation, and why wouldn't animals do the same?

"Right, back in Tiger Tooth Mountain, you mentioned that if beasts were hunted on a large scale, Great Feng would face a calamity. Is that truly a prophecy passed down by your wolf tribe?" Qi Zhenzhen asked.

Ye Bai let out a low growl, "Awooo, for us beasts, there are no dynasties. That prophecy wasn't aimed at this particular dynasty, but at all living beings. Compared to beasts, humans possess an innate advantage. All living things are interconnected, and the relationships within are incredibly profound. Though they may seem unrelated, they are actually intertwined. If humans were to exterminate the beasts, this delicate balance would be broken. The wolf tribe's prophecy states that if this relationship is broken, humans will suffer the same fate."

Qi Zhenzhen pursed her lips. The wolf tribe's prophecy was indeed insightful.

"Awooo, these herbs are also unique to the wolf tribe's sacred land. At least, outside the sacred land, I haven't encountered them," Ye Bai growled again. "As for their specific effects, I don't know. I only remember that after returning from Death Valley, the elders of my tribe fed me many of these herbs."

Qi Zhenzhen didn't recognize these herbs either. She was certain they weren't listed in the herbal compendium. She had previously helped Physician Mo and had flipped through his herbal compendium. Out of habit, she had memorized all the herbs recorded in it.

Considering what Ye Bai had said, Qi Zhenzhen speculated that these should all be herbs with excellent detoxification properties. She wasn't sure about the condition of Gu Sinian and the others, but Qi Zhenzhen felt it was better to bring more of these herbs, just in case.

Besides that, Ye Bai also tossed a bead to Qi Zhenzhen. "Awooo, this bead is for you. I found it in the sacred land when I was still a young wolf. It was dull and gray at first, but now it's lustrous and radiant. It must be something good. I don't know much about Death Valley, but I hope it can help you. Good luck."

The wolf tribe leader came in to report that the brown bear tribe had agreed to Ye Bai's request and had specially dispatched the bravest male bears from their tribe to accompany them to Death Valley.

Ye Bai let out a low growl, "Awooo, that old bear isn't foolish. One tribesman for decades of peace afterwards."

Qi Zhenzhen guessed that perhaps the matter the brown bear tribe had requested was not easily accomplished, which was why Ye Bai had not agreed. Now, because of her request, Ye Bai had changed his mind and agreed to it.

"Is what the brown bear tribe requested very difficult?" Qi Zhenzhen asked. "If so, we don't have to ask them. I think my guess is accurate. Among humans, I'm not particularly short, so passing through that miasma shouldn't be a problem."

"Awooo, it's not a difficult matter, just a bit troublesome," Ye Bai growled. "With the bear cub accompanying you, I can be a little more at ease."

Qi Zhenzhen didn't refuse any further. "Alright, I'll listen to you. By the way, can my three companions stay here with you for a while longer?"

Ye Bai was silent for a moment. "Awooo, are you foolish?"

"I already said it's the strongest bear cub from the brown bear tribe, and having it as help is enough," Qi Zhenzhen smiled. She admitted she had her own selfish reasons. After all, she couldn't guarantee a safe return when bidding farewell, and she didn't want to involve them. They could avoid tangible dangers, but their ability to cope with intangible ones might not be as good as hers.

Ye Bai growled at the gray wolf, "Awooo, go bring that bear cub in. I have something to tell him. If he returns alive this time, it will be the fortune of the brown bear tribe."
