Chapter 388: Chapter 388: Where Is He?
With the cold metallic touch of a gun muzzle constantly pressed against his head, he had no choice but to embrace his head and exit the vehicle, squatting by the roadside as they demanded.
The man leading them dealt with the driver, then personally came over to open the door for Shen Cheng, giving a gesture of invitation.
He did not speak any superfluous words, and Shen Cheng could not be bothered to ask, calmly getting out of the car without giving him a second glance.
Her haughty demeanor was distractingly beautiful.
"Miss Shen, please get in the car."
The man was indifferent to Shen Cheng’s attitude, remaining courteous towards her.
What he didn’t expect was for Shen Cheng to get into the car without a moment’s hesitation.
The man paused for a second, then with a wave of his hand, signaled for a retreat, and the group methodically got into the cars.
The gun that had been pressed against his temple was taken away, and the driver collapsed to the ground, only to look up and see the stretch Lincoln rapidly driving off into the distance.
In the car, Shen Cheng remained completely calm.
Sitting in the backseat, she nonchalantly brushed her slightly disheveled hair behind her ears and spoke lightly, "Did Mo Jin send you?"
The silence in the car was deafening; no one responded to her question.
The group of men in black were like shadows, utterly silent, not uttering a single word.
Seeing them mute, Shen Cheng laughed instead.
These people were well-trained, obviously having undergone extremely strict training.
Even without them speaking, she could guess it was the President.
Probably only that President could afford to keep such formidable individuals.
The car drove on for a long time, causing Shen Cheng to completely lose her sense of direction.
About forty minutes later, the car slowed down.
Then, it turned onto a long driveway.
Glancing out the car window, Shen Cheng could feel an aura of solemn dignity.
The car finally came to a stop.
Shen Cheng felt like she was suffocating, her stomach beginning to churn.
She took a deep breath, trying her best to adjust her composure.
After getting out of the car, Shen Cheng clearly saw the environment in which she found herself.
This was an enormously vast estate, the acreage of which she could no longer estimate.
The wide driveway at the front could almost be regarded as a sprawling lawn, with fountains casting rainbows in the sunlight, and the European columns understated yet exuding opulence and grandeur.
At that moment, the leading man in black, along with a group of men in neat suits, bowed in unison: "Welcome, Miss Shen!"
Shen Cheng’s expression stiffened for a moment, unclear about what was unfolding before her.
The leader had an air of someone accustomed to big events; after leading his men in the greeting, he bowed respectfully yet confidently in front of Shen Cheng before saying, "Miss Shen, the President wishes to see you."
His tone of voice was formal and round, with a proper decorum, and devoid of any superfluous expression, the hallmark of someone trained from a young age to be strict with oneself.
The President wants to see her?
After orchestrating so many actions, now he was finally ready to show his hand.
Shen Cheng glanced at him lightly, a faint smile curling her lips, emitting a soft chuckle, "Why does he wish to see me?"
The man lowered his head slightly toward her, but remained silent, clearly instructed to divulge nothing.
Shen Cheng was not oblivious to the fact that these subordinates were merely sharp blades in the hands of their master, only to act as instructed from above.
Therefore, she didn’t plan to make it difficult for them and changed the subject: "Where is he?"
All she knew now was that the person manipulating everything from behind was President Mo Jin, but regarding any other details, she was still completely in the dark.
