Chapter 392: Chapter 392: Severely Injured While Rescuing
Shi Yu nodded and then took the lead in walking out of the shipping container they were hiding in, raised his hand, and with a single shot, took out a guard.
In this manner, they moved further and further away from Qin Jin, simultaneously drawing away the guards staked out nearby.
Qin Jin peeked around the corner to make sure it was safe and then quickly headed in the opposite direction.
Soon, he found the room where Shen Mu was being held.
Inside, there were only two people guarding.
Although Qin Jin’s marksmanship wasn’t very accurate, taking out these two problems was no issue at all.
Narrowing his eyes, he gauged the distance and fired two shots from the darkness, hitting both guards in the chest and abdomen, respectively.
Watching them fall, Qin Jin quickly entered the room, planning to take Shen Mu and leave.
Shen Mu was still unconscious and hadn’t been tied up, which made the rescue much easier.
Just as Qin Jin was about to lift Shen Mu off the bed, a sudden acute pain erupted from his abdomen.
The intense pain made him let out an involuntary grunt.
It was one of the guards he had shot, still breathing and, in a desperate crawl from the ground, had plunged a knife into his body.
Qin Jin’s body trembled, and fresh blood quickly soaked through his shirt at the abdomen, staining it red.
Struggling, he kicked the man away. The guard soon lay on the ground, lifeless.
Already at his last breath, the guard had used all his remaining strength in that one strike at Qin Jin.
Qin Jin felt the pain intensifying and looked down to find that the knife in his abdomen was a triangle bayonet, commonly used by assassins.
This kind of bayonet has a triangular blade with indented edges forming grooves, intended to reduce weight, but inadvertently becoming an efficient bloodletting tool.
The wound it inflicted was irregular and difficult to stitch up.
Fortunately, the attacker had only used half his strength, or else Qin Jin would likely have lost his life there.
Qin Jin stumbled to brace himself against a wall, steadied his body, gripped the knife handle, pulled it out with force and threw it aside, the metal hitting the floor with a clear sound.
Clenching his teeth, he took off his jacket and tied it tightly around the wound to slow the bleeding.
Raising his eyes, he saw a guard not far away, aiming a gun straight at him.
Qin Jin wanted to dodge, but he was already somewhat powerless and had to close his eyes and take a couple of breaths.
A loud bang!
However, Qin Jin didn’t feel the anticipated pain; a steady voice suddenly rang out by his ear: "Let’s go."
It was Shi Yu.
He had already sealed the man’s throat with a knife. The sound of a gunshot was from the loaded gun that went off in the already deceased guard’s hand, firing a shot into the air.
Shi Yu, too, was injured, several places on his shirt stained red. Yet, he seemed to not care at all, as he stepped forward to support Qin Jin, instructing his capable subordinate to take away Shen Mu, then turned his head and ordered: "Move out!"
Everyone withdrew their hands and covered their retreat.
Inside the Shi Mansion.
The private physician was busy running back and forth, servants stood in rows, not even daring to breathe heavily.
Yet the patient appeared calm as if the one injured wasn’t him.
Qin Jin was quite seriously hurt, so Shi Yu had sent him back home for timely treatment before returning to the mansion.
At this time, several servants were helping to clean tools and continuously wringing out clean towels from disinfected water to hand to the doctor.
The private doctor, wearing sterilized gloves, with a serious expression began working with a scalpel and tweezers.
Only after the bullet was successfully removed from Shi Yu’s arm did everyone finally breathe a sigh of relief.
Once informed by a servant that Shen Mu had been settled comfortably, a faint trace of relaxation appeared on Shi Yu’s face.
