Chapter 412: Chapter 412: Don’t Talk, Get Some Sleep

Seeing him standing by the window, Shen Cheng walked over and wrapped her arms around his waist from behind.

Shi Yu’s expression immediately softened, holding Shen Cheng’s hand that was placed around his midsection: "Not tired?"

Shen Cheng nuzzled against his back: "Why, feeling down?"

Shi Yu reached out to push the window open, letting the smell of smoke dissipate more quickly.

"Let’s talk back in the bedroom."

Knowing he didn’t want her to smell the smoke, Shen Cheng let him pull her back to the bedroom.

After returning to the room, Shi Yu took a shower and came out, sitting beside Shen Cheng.

"Tomorrow I have to go to Du City; you’re coming with me."

Shen Cheng tilted her head to rest it on his leg, finding a comfortable position, and responded, "Mhm."

He always had his reasons for doing things. If he needed her, she would accompany him without asking why.

"Bring your favorite things." Shi Yu said, pausing for a moment before adding, "You can also not bring anything; we’ll buy it for you there."

Just from his sentence, Shen Cheng knew they would not be coming back anytime soon.

Perhaps, it would be a long stay.

So she got up and picked out a few silk nightgowns and several of Shi Yu’s tie clips.

Other things could easily be purchased, but not these. The nightgowns were what she was accustomed to, and the tie clips were from a collection she had gathered some time ago.

While she did this, Shi Yu didn’t stop her, just sitting there watching her.

The next day, Shen Cheng woke up early.

When she awoke, Shi Yu was already fully dressed, tidying up his collar in front of the floor-length mirror.

"Awake?"

"Mhm." Shen Cheng gave a small yawn.

"Sleep a little more?"

Shen Cheng shook her head, got out of bed, and began tidying Shi Yu’s clothes.

Shi Yu bowed his head, watching as Shen Cheng carefully smoothed out every wrinkle on the garment with her fingers.

Face lowered, her silky black hair cascaded down, disorderly yet beautiful.

Wearing a loose-fitting robe, a casual glance revealed the scenery beneath, crystal clear.

There was an indefinable warmth in Shi Yu’s gaze, which swiftly receded, as he simply brushed her loose hair back behind her ear.

By the time Shen Cheng came downstairs from the bathroom, the private jet had already landed on the mansion’s lawn, with the engines humming softly.

Shi Yu was sitting to one side reading the day’s newspaper, and when he saw her come down, he set the paper aside and stood up.

He made a few phone calls to take care of some matters while they went to have breakfast.

After breakfast, the two of them boarded the private jet together.

On the plane, Shen Cheng asked several questions.

"When are we coming back from this trip to Du City?"

"Or are we going to live there for an extended period?"

"..."

Shi Yu frowned slightly, reached out his arm, and pulled her into his embrace, letting her lean against his chest: "Don’t talk, sleep."

"I can’t sleep."

"You still need to sleep."

"..."

Nevertheless, Shen Cheng closed her eyes, possibly from getting up too early, and before long, she drifted off to sleep.

The clouds outside the window swept by, and soon they arrived in Du City.

The slight sensation of weightlessness as the plane descended woke Shen Cheng, and she opened her eyes: "Are we here?"

Shi Yu hugged her and hummed in affirmation.

The plane landed in a spacious area and from afar Shen Cheng saw a car parked on the private driveway.

After disembarking, Shi Yu, holding her hand, walked towards the car.

Before they reached the car, the door opened, and a middle-aged woman stepped out.

Shen Cheng stood by Shi Yu’s side, scrutinizing the woman closely.

Her form-fitting clothes displayed her still stunning figure, her features were delicately sculpted, and she exuded elegance.

Quite a beauty.
